On this week's episode, we packed up our converted Ford transit campervan and hit the road for a getaway, with no destination. We used our WikiCamps app to find somewhere to stay the night. We ended up pulling into Kyneton Mineral Springs Reserve, where you can stay for up to 48 hours as long as you are in a campervan, caravan, motorhome, or truck.
We both tried the Kyneton Mineral Springs water, which was interesting. Kyneton is a town in the Macedon Ranges region of Victoria, Australia. The Calder Freeway bypasses Kyneton to the north and east. Kyneton is on Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country. The town has three main streets: Mollison Street, Piper Street, and High Street. The next morning we hit the Piper Street Farmer's Market in Kyneton. We checked out all the stalls selling food, wine, bread, and bits-and-pieces. Then we grabbed a coffee and cake at Duck Duck Goose & Larder. After our coffees, we headed for a hike at Black Hill Reserve, five minutes north of Kyneton, which is a place to find natural peace and tranquillity. We walked along tracks through natural and revegetated bushland surrounded by wildflowers and local wildlife. There were magnificent views and imposing rock formations like The Monolith, one of the biggest granite features in Victoria. Of all places - we got lost here. Losing our direction to our converted Ford transit campervan. After finally finding our way back to our van, we had our lunch in Kyneton. After lunch headed to Warburtons Bridge Camping Ground. This was a very popular place but too busy so we had to find somewhere else to go.
We decided to head back to Mount Franklin, which is an extinct volcano about 10 km north of Daylesford and 4.6 km southeast of Franklinford in Victoria, Australia. We love it there. I have linked the video below the last time we were at Mount Franklin Victoria Australia. There were so many people van living at Mount Franklin. We spoke to a lovely lady that had just brought a new caravan and was traveling around Australia. The next day we woke up and had breakfast and showers in our converted Ford transit campervan. After packing up on Sunday, we headed to one of our favorite wineries, Gisborne Peak Winery in the Macedon Ranges Victoria Australia. Sharing a love for wine and wine education, the owners, Barb and Bob Nixon invite you to enjoy Macedon Ranges. We met up with family at the winery and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
