In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, to the 2022 Border Caravan & Camping Expo in Wodonga, Victoria, Australia. To see the Expo check out last week’s episode. When we stayed at Wodonga, we got a unpowered site at BIG4 Borderland Wodonga Holiday Park. In this episode we take you on a full park tour. Also, I’ll list below all the places we visited and eat at in this episode.
•BIG4 Borderland Wodonga Holiday Park
•Albury-Wodonga
•Bonegilla Migrant Experience
• 2022 Border Caravan & Camping
Expo Wodonga
•Wagirra Trail and Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk
• Hume Dam

•Topolino Gelateria wodonga
•Belvoir Park Playground
BIG4 Borderland Holiday Park is just 3km from the town of Wodonga, and is a great base for breaking up longer trips and for exploring local historic towns, wineries, and Lake Hume.
Home to the winding Murray River and its waterways, the area boasts an array of food, cultural icons, contemporary museums, rich migrant history, and our indigenous peoples with secret resting spots around every corner. Albury-Wodonga is an escape that is a world away from ‘everyday’ life.
Bonegilla Migrant Reception Centre
Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre was once made up of 24 blocks. It had its own churches, banks, sporting fields, cinema, hospital, police station and railway platform. Today, Block 19 is all that remains of the original site. Bonegilla Migrant Experience brings to life the stories and experiences of the people who travelled through the centre.
The Bonegilla story began in the years following World War II, when millions of people seeking a new start and peace, departed for Australia. An army camp at Bonegilla was transformed into a migrant reception and training centre where new arrivals lived while they were processed and allocated jobs.
Wagirra Trail and Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk
The Wagirra Trail links Horseshoe Lagoon with the South Albury Trail at the Union Bridge. There are many places to stop and picnic or just enjoy the tranquillity of the Murray River.
Hume Dam / Hume Dam Wall Reserve
Walk across the dam wall for spectacular views east to Lake Hume and west to the River Murray. The 318-metre long concrete spillway is 51 metres high with a short earth embankment on the NSW side and a 1.2 kilometre long embankment across the river flats on the Victorian side, making a total length of 1.6 kilometres. A viewing platform on the northern (NSW) side of the dam wall provides spectacular views of the lake and countryside.
Belvoir Park Playground
Set amid Belvoir Park, the Belvoir Park Playground, is a large open space with established trees and a lake abundant with water birds. The park features a walking track around the lake, picnic and barbecue facilities and shelters. The playground features a junior playground, intermediate to senior play area, elevated platforms, decks, slides, nets, climbing wall and a liberty swing. There are also swings, sandpit, interactive play panels, natural play spaces, barbecues, picnic tables and seating, public toilets and baby change facilities.
We hope you enjoy our channel. We often get asked, ‘what is vanlife?’ Van life is a lifestyle of living in a vehicle full or part-time. The names are compound words that derive from the fact that it is typically done in a van that has been modified with basic amenities, such as house batteries, solar panels, a bed platform, some form of toilet, sink, and storage space. Some van-dwellers live this lifestyle by choice while seeking freedom, self-sufficiency, and mobility without paying for conventional stationary housing, while for others it may be one step from living on the street or in a shelter. In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, an idealized version was popularized through social media with the hashtag #vanLife. Although the term van-dwelling implies living in a van, many types of vehicles may be used for permanent, mobile living arrangements, including former public buses or school buses, campervans, recreational vehicles (RVs), travel trailers, mobile homes, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and cars.
We enjoy part-time van-life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. In our episodes we stay at free and paid campsites, showing our tips and tricks on how

Great episode. Have fallen in love with little Twylah 😍. We visited Bonegilla on our Roadtrip in 2017 was very Interesting place. They must of hated a lot of the meals given the cuisine of the Italians. Greeks and other countries that stayed there. Cheers Sharon

Hi Sharon, yes, Bonegilla was an interesting place - very insightful! And the food would have been fussy - I know, I'm Italian ha ha. Adam

Hi Deano and Adam We’re staying at Barmah in the caravan park. We watched your video about Barmah. You would not believe the river is at the top of the banks and where you camped is totally under water. I wish I could show you photos.

Hi Kim, that's crazy, cause we saw how low it was. That's going to take a number of weeks to dry out for camping again. Deano

Thanks for the message Steven, we try to conserve our gas tank at times, so we don't need to refill it, so tend to sometimes use our portable stove. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Adam
