Narc literally prints every two frames of game show streams (in color) and looks over them one by one with a magnifying glass. Probably has like folders in a metal drawer. Cuz he is awesome HAHA!

If they released the game in its current state, it would already be a playable fun game. The fact they still have a long ways to go to put the finishing touches on it, is why I believe that AoC will be the next generation defining, genre defining game. Cant wait! Baffles me that some people dont see the greatness here... Now show me the damn Bard and Summoner already!

Nice job with the map, kudos. An Alpha map bigger than some of today's MMOs is insane, seeing as the Riverlands is only one of six areas Steven listed (Riverlands, Badlands, Sand Squall Desert, Forests, Tropics and some of the Tabletop Tundra) all expected to be either available at launch of Alpha 2 or integrated as it progresses.

Of course, i guess a big part of the world for alpha two has been nearly finished. What still neds work is mostly the story and then some fine tuning in classes, combat and other mechanics as artiserys, trading and city development. Yes, you could yump into the game and enjoy the magnificent scenery right now but i guess there would be not much to do, or at least its not connected by a phenomenal story yet.

People keep crying about the development of this game is taking so long but fail to realize the scope of this development. They are creating from scratch most if not all assets in the game, including the systems. They are not buying them from the unreal engine shop. That's the main reason the game took that long between Alpha1 and Alpha2. For the first few years of development they were a relatively small studio, only in the past few years they ramped up hiring new people and production. Contrary to what many might think, the alpha2 will be a bit long, but the beta1 and beta2 might be shorter than we expect since they streamlined production with the unreal engine 5 update.

I signed up for an Alpha 2 spit a while ago but 1 question that keeps popping up in my head is how long does it last? Does Alpha 2 keep going though with server wipes etc or is there an actual time limitation to it?

There will be wipes on the Alpha 2 server, but the Alpha 2 server will stay up forever. When game actually releases the alpha 2 server will become the test server in the future. alpha 2 server will wipe many times and will wipe just before release so we will start at beginning like everyone else. Hope this helps.

I remember being a child watching TV, and an ad for Morrowind played boasting a map the size of England. Definitely no reason for small maps in MMO's if a RPG from 20+ years ago had one that size.

In order to promote player interaction maps need to be sized properly for server population. Too big and it feels like a solo game. Too small and it feels overpopulated and resources become stretched. It's a fine balance in an MMO.

all im gonna say is the graphics are not as esthetically pleasing as id like them to be more like a 720p go pro from the 2010s, its got a playdough like feel to it not fleshed out enough to be irl graphic but not cartoony enough to hold its on ground in eras to come maybe its to zoomed out idk but thats my opinion obviously...

I really hate those ridiculously large swords they’re using. It looks goofy. And really it wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t hold it like that. If they rested it on their shoulder it would look a little bit better, but holding it upright just looks unnatural
