Everyone thinks that honeymoons are supposed to be perfect. They have their moments but conflicts are bound to happen and that's okay, they allow you to grow. We wanted to share one of the "fights" we had on our honeymoon. It's funny to us now but in the moment is was frustrating. Looking back, 3 years later, we have definitely both grown a lot. Hope it makes you laugh, but also realize that all relationships have their ups and downs.

Kind of like becoming fluent in a language by immersing yourself in it; going to a different country and hear them use their language so that you can pick up things that would get lost in translation.

Court your signing is incredible.. you have to share with us how you got to this stage. I've been learning sign for two years now and I'd love to hear more about your personal signing journey, your challenges and obstacles while initially learning sign, resources and websites you found helpful when learning ASL. For me, I find retelling an event or situation to be super challenging, all the classifiers and handshapes used to represent nouns and verbs ... that ain't no easy task for me

Love these videos! I honestly don't have a lot of knowledge or experience with Deaf culture, but I've always found ASL interesting. Your channel is great to watch though, and both of your personalities really comes through your signing! Y'all just seem like one of those bubbly couples that would be really fun to be around. These kind of 'story time' videos are really cool too! I would have absolutely cried about the spiders though. Question- what do you find the two of you argue about the most? And what is the most annoying little habit your partner has? (Ie: Court always loads the dishwasher but forgets to turn it on, or Zach always has to have the closet organized perfectly... Little things!) Hope you're having a great day!

But right now I am back at home after doing two years at liberty University, and I'm going to community college before I plan to go back to liberty. Q&A Question: I recently found yalls channel when searching for videos of people conversing in ASL. I instantly fell in love. What made y'all decide to start a youtube channel? Court, how long did it take for you to become fluent in ASL and do you ever feel it to be weird speaking when you don't use your voice for long periods of time? Whenever I sign for hours on end, afterwards, I feel so weird speaking. Zach, for hearing people what would be your advice on how to respect the deaf community in our everyday life? Cant wait for the next video. Lots of love

Zach & Court, it is good to live frugally! However, it is okay to splurge on something expensive that can turn out to be a fabulous one time experience as I am sure that's something you both learned! :) I have a few questions for y'all (By the way, I am Deaf!): 1) Zach, what is the hardest challenge you have ever dealt with being Deaf? 2) Court, I know you are employed as an interpreter so do you have any classes/subjects you really like to interpret and why? 3) Zach and Court, who is the better cook of you two? Have you ever cooked dinner together? If so, what have you guys cooked together?

When I was at the rainforest centre outside Iquitos, Perú, I was confronted by a massive and menace-looking spider and its huge cobweb that blocked my only path to the tambo. I looked at the spider and said, 'I am sorry, but I gotta pass through. Please forgive me.' Then, I cut the right side of cobweb, which collapsed to the left. I sent out the love to the spider and passed through.

Q&A: I am an acquired deaf, but luckily I already had a love of sign and was learning it from a young age. Since becoming deaf, being really emersed into the Deaf Community has been super important. My significant other however, is hearing, and struggles to understand Deaf Culture, and how I prefer to sign. How would you suggest I entice them to start seriously learning to sign? He believes because my lip reading is very good, communication isn't a problem, but lip reading isn't proper (or at least I don't think it is). I think if you guys talked about deaf culture too that'd be super neat! Thanks for the laugh!
@OurSignedWorld

Wow! Okay, thanks for sharing. We can do that! When we met I was already taking sign classes and interested in Deaf culture.

I think it is great that you already knew sign language and that you are immersed in the Deaf community! As a Deaf person who doesn't rely on lip reading I need to be with someone who knows sign language. Even if I did read lips fairly well, I don't know if I could be with someone who doesn't know my language or my culture. But that is just my preference. If Courtney wasn't willing to learn my language or my culture we wouldn't be married today.

Q&A - Hey guys, I was wondering if you have any tips for someone who wants to learn sign language? I'm from the UK so I'd try to learn British sign language. I don't really have time to go to classes or anything so do you think watching KZfaq videos is a good way to learn? I don't really know any deaf people so I couldn't practice that way and I don't *need* to learn it but I think it's such an an interesting language and would be a great skill to have even if i only learnt some basics. My mum knows some sign language but it's not 'real' sign language. Her best friend growing up was deaf so my mum learnt some stuff but she made up the rest, and her friend just went along with it, so my mum and her friend have their own sign language in a way, as not many other deaf people would understand the signs they do just to each other. I didn't really know about it until a couple of years ago at a family event when this woman came up to my mum and they both just started signing away, I was so confused but I thought it was fascinating!! Sorry this is so long but basically my question is do you have any tips for someone who wants to learn sign language? Love watching your videos! :)

Are you signing with ASL or a different kind of sign language? Sign language is intriguing to me and I am trying to learn! Do you have any tips on learning sign language?

Maybe not so much a single question, but how about more about how you got to know each other and started dating? Does Court's hering and Zach's deafness or adaptations cause any situations that result in conflict between you (ex: slamming doors or earthquake alarm clock)?

Before going to the college where your at now, did you ever think about Gallaudet University? I went there for awhile and loved it! 🤟🏼
@aarondelgado3421
@aarondelgado3421 6 жыл бұрын
I graduated from Gallaudet myself and it was an incredible experience. Unfortunately, it is not possible for many deaf people to attend Gallaudet due to several reasons. The biggest reason is money since Gallaudet is a private university and private universities generally cost more than public ones. Furthermore, deaf people may seek assistance with costs by seeing a vocational rehabilitation counselor, but there may not be government funds to attend Gallaudet due to budget constraints and other extenuating circumstances.

This is Zach, I thought about Gallaudet for my undergrad but then decided I wanted to stay closer to home at go to CSUN. Then for my masters I applied to Gallaudet but they didn't have enough applicants for the program so they dropped the program that year so I stayed at CSUN. But I LOVED my experience here!

Hello, my question is mainly for you Court. How do you navigate family situations, or other areas that are 'hearing evironments." Do you find yourself interpreting all the time? How do you stay involved in conversations yourself and interpret? Thanks so much!

There are plenty of online resources to learn ASL, not to mention apps for smartphones. Furthermore, if you live in the vicinity of a deaf community of a good size, you probably find some events where you can meet deaf people!

OurSignedWorld it really is such a small world! A few years ago I was at hurricane harbor with my family and 3 year old nephew. We were at a big tall ride and my nephew started to get scared. I started to distract him by practicing our colors in ASL. There was a couple signing about 2 parties ahead of us. I have been watching you guys for weeks and until this video did I have an epiphany and realize that that couple was you two. I asked the guy how to spell height and explain my nephew was afraid of heights. The girl told me he was cute and I said thank you. I didn't know enough ASL to continue the conversation. Im now in Level 3 at El Camino College in Torrance.

Do y’all have any advice or tips to help a college student save money???
@aarondelgado3421
@aarondelgado3421 6 жыл бұрын
i am sure Zach and Court has plenty of tips, but I have some myself since I am a college graduate. Live on Ramen soup! Just kidding! Well, you can always opt out of doing things that require serious cash to be spent like going to amusement parks that charge exorbitant prices, malls that are littered with stores seemingly to scream, "Give me your money!" and get books for cheap if you can by buying them from students who have taken the class(es) that used those book(s).
