I didn’t find out till I was 19. It was during college and it’s like suddenly the very hardest a tried wasn’t enough anymore I could always compensate for my issues starting and finishing task and not focusing and my constant forgetfulness but I was always exhausted having to mask my symptoms all the time by 19 I went into a burnout and could no longer mask that’s when I started opening up to my mom about how I felt. And actually I found your video talking about your symptoms and I related so much I didn’t my own research about the symptoms and had a lot i booked a appointment for testing just had it last week I was diagnosed with adhd inattentive type starting meds in two days very nervous!

A friend recently has made it known to me that there's a high chance I have ADHD based off of alot of things they have noticed about me that I didn't realise 😅 I'm still learning and understanding things about the differences people deal with ADHD. Talking about it doesn't make me feel so alone though, thank you for being able to openly talk about it with us! It helps so much 😭💜

I've been a subscribers for years, but this is my first time commenting on this channel (and it will be long). I never thought myself of having ADHD (I didn't even know what it is at first). I used to have a classmate with that disorder, who stood out very much. He was smart, but he couldn't sit still that he was seated on a single desk while everyone else had seatmates because no one could handle him (I have many stories about him) 😂 I, on the other hand, am shy, introverted and quiet, and I try to stay out of trouble. But you pointed out all my problems, and I can identify myself with both of you (I lean more towards Dongin). I tend to space out or dwell on something when listening to topics I'm not particularly interested in. I have trouble organizing, and I finish tasks at the last minute. And I tend to make mistakes or take a long time to finish tasks. I just quit university after a year (which I happen to enroll at last minute, too 😅). The main reason is that I didn't enjoy computer science since it was too hard, but I was also very lazy. I had no motivation for doing tasks, and I only started on the last day, ending up copying someone else (who wasn't much better than me). Instead, I did things other than studying even though I knew I should because the thought alone killed me mentally. I watched KZfaq till 3, 4, 5, or even 6 am in the morning, and woke up past noon, missing lectures that I couldn't even go back to attending them again. In the end, I didn't sign up for exams because I was too scared since I didn't prepare enough. To sum everything up, I know what I have to do, but I just couldn't get myself in action because I'm not passionate enough. I don't think I truly have/had depression, but I had depressive phases. I felt stupid and unable to do things all the time. The next moment, I found myself amusing myself with KZfaq. Tbh, I still don't know what I want to do. My only goal is to get a good job, my own apartment, and my own car so I can enjoy life. I am planning to enroll in college to major something more suitable for me. I thought of seeking help for a while, but I wasn't sure if my problems were "big" enough to treat. Besides, I questioned myself whether therapy would help me long-term because after an I-can-do-it-mentality and starting off going in the right direction, I revert back to my old habits when I get mentally exhausted. But I'm going to get myself tested, and I hope to become a better person 💪🏻 If you've read to the end (I guess not many did 😅), thank you for listening to my story. Thank you, Farina and Dongin, for opening my eyes, and I wish everyone who is dealing with any mental disorders and everyone else all the best 🔥 Love from Stuttgart ❤

Not ADHD, but I was diagnosed with social phobia and anxiety about two years ago. I was struggling since kindergarten, was bullied because of it and had a zero confidence in anything. Meds helped me a lot in those past two years, but before that it was your videos and content. Your channel have so much positive vibes and I love it. I started taking care of myself and was able visit a doctor thanks to you. I can't repay you much, as I'm basically a stranger to you, but I want to show you my support! You got this girl! ❤ I know the struggles with mental health may be too much sometimes. But you're already doing great and I hope to see more mental health care content in the future! Still don't forget to take care of yourself in the first place! ❤

i realized my little sister had it and other diagnoses as she would be very aggresive and hit people, my mom, me , friends, boyfriends, and cant control her anger at all, can never relax or gets bothered by everything, she broke my jaw last year and i am no longer wanting anything to do with her, as ive tried for many years to get her help, to guider her and teach her kindness and respect but she likes when people are scared of her. so im moving soon and will hopefully get over all my trauma ive gotten because of her.

I´m at 50 sec, and have to add a few things: it´s not necessarily having trouble paying attention but your brain is morel ikely to be wired to choose differently on what you pay attention. We have the ability to be very focused on things that actually interest us. There are also different types of adhd and theories [Some even argue it´s not a disorder but might be from hunters and gatherers in the past ( hunting - hyperfocusing on a task, gatherers not) - but it is accepted as an "illness".] Medication can help but also worsen your symptoms, so everyone needs to make their own choice of life based on your unique settings. Don´t force yourself to function in a setting that is not working for you. E.g. your daily life: soem people get up early, some a little later - and that´s fine. A few things that can improve symotoms overall (not cure): drink enough water, get enough, sleep, cut down on alcohol and artificial sugar (helped me a lot), exerciing can be beneficial or if you don´t want you can take walks, get moving! :D, eat foods that help to keep your brain health intact like nuts, avocado, salmon - all very nutritious , instead of one big task - go step by step - but what helps e.g one person might not be for you - so try different learning techniques refering to school and studying, add help e.g theraphy to talk or meditation - as a neurodivergent person find what works for you, work with your brain. Don´t forget to eat regularly, too, some sife effects with adhd can also be depressed days etc. but you´re not necessarily do have a depression. Some of the adhd symptoms often get mistaken ( could write a book on all of that based on my life experience XD) and most importantly, your are all enough, don´t put yourself down.

Love that neurodivergents find eachother. I got diagnosed with ADHD and Autism last year (in my 30s, had no idea) and both are littered through my friends and family, but they're undiagnosed/unaware. It's funny to me how we've gravitated towards eachother like magnets 😂 because we're all a safe space for eachother. Neurospicies unite! ✊️

Fun fact: you don't outgrow ADHD you (unconsciously) find ways to somehow work around it. Like for me it's to be too organized: everything has to have it's place because otherwise I would instantly forget where I put it. I also need to plan everything too detailed because otherwise I get lost and don't know what to do. That is more stressful than helpful.. I got my diagnosis early in October and will try medication early in November. Thankfully I already was in therapy at a clinic with a psychological centre so my therapist could made an appointment for me within 3 months for a diagnosis. The first time I thought about me probably having ADHD was early this year because no matter how hard I tried I always made super tiny little mistakes at work the whole day to the point that I was extremely insecure about everything I did and unhappy/frustrated. I also had the feeling that my coworkers have been very annoyed which didn't help at all. But I also found myself in a lot social media content where people described their ADHD symptoms. I'm glad that I have the diagnosis now, because now I can find methods to get rid of the negative symptoms which don't stress me out so my life can get a little more relaxed and a little less exhausting. 😊😊

We literally share the same brain funkiness Farina LOL. I remember you mentioning it in a past video and you named some of my exact struggles. I’ve only heard of ADHD, not ADD or inattentive. It’s stuck to my mind, and when I remember, I save the research and appointment to get diagnosed for “later”. I “forget” even as i’m on my way to do it. I set my laptop in front of me, with a written note on what to do from the day before, just to sit there for a good while, walk away and do something else. I realize hours later and save it for another time. But when it involves perfection (i’m a tattoo artist) I give it my all! It’s probably an ocd thing i gotta get that checked too😅 Tattooing takes hours to begin with, but i noticed it takes me hours, days, to never even finishing a project just bc I forget as im doing it, to forget why I started in the first place. Thank you so much for this video and spreading awareness!!💝 I learned so much from you guys:) Mental health is a big priority for me, it may take a while, but i’ll always come right back to take care of myself:3

Thank you both for sharing your personal experiences with ADHD! It's so much more complex and variable than a lot of people realize, I think, so I really appreciate you highlighting that in this video! I know that I personally would never have found the courage to pursue my own assessments if not for others sharing their experiences (and realizing oops, that's a lot of overlap!), so I'm very grateful for videos and posts like yours that help spread awareness and understanding! I'm sure that this will definitely be helpful to a lot of people, especially with the encouragement to seek a professional opinion and/or treatment if you're unsure (it really does help!!). It's kinda funny in hindsight though how much of this just feels like a description of my life (I have both OCD and combined-type ADHD, so I can relate to you both haha), but better late than never in figuring it out and making some progress! Best wishes to you both, keep living your best lives and I'm glad that you're both doing much better now! Thanks again for sharing!! ❤

My experience sounds very similar to Dongin's experiences such as being good in school/very high test scores without studying b/c I hate studying, NEED for physical activity, subconsciously implementing habits to cope, seem calm on the surface but thoughts are lightning speed. I suspected I have ADHD when my close relative was diagnosed with it. Tried meds, hated them, and now am using other methods such as habits, martial arts, breathing practices, etc. Being aware of your condition helps identify areas for improvement and potential solutions.

I have ADD-type. I was not able to do my work properly for years because of my concentration problems. I was making hundreds of mistakes every day: forgetting things and getting the information wrong because my brain just switched off as I could not concentrate on the topic. My son now has th ADHD with hyperactivity, and it was obvious since he was around two years old. But we actually managed it without medicine. I am now doing a job, where I strongly benefit from my deep focus ability, so I learned to implement it into my life.

ADd and ADHD run in both sides of my family. Luckily for me, I was able to deal with it without having to take medication. I still deal with the ADD part, but not as hyperactive as I used to be. I have found ways to focus better, doing the things that bore me first. If I can get through those tasks, the stuff I like won’t take much time to do. I hope that makes sense. WHAT STOPS ME? i got to know about ADHD a few days ago and now i feel like just crying because i thought i was just being lazy and not trying hard to get things done and Now i don't know why do i can't focus , can't study , not able to do what i want to AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH ME. it feels so sad because i can't share these things with anyone out there not any of my friends not my mom or dad and that's why i can't even go for a DIAGNOSIS. People need to know that the medication is NOT the same as meth and there is NO meth in it. Otherwise it would make you crazy, not organized and calm. They give it to children and it also doesn't damage the central nervous system. Even if taken for years and years, but breaks from the medication can be important too. If the medication doesn't work for you then you also shouldn't feel bad. It makes many people feel depressed. And for people without ADHD it only wakes them up(because it is a stimulant like coffee), it doesn't have any cognitive effect. This is because their dopamine receptors are already functioning correctly.

I know it seems very random but since u have anxiety and adhd etc jave you ever considered doing an autism test? There are different levels of autism and at times some symptoms are diagnosed instead of the whole issue at the root. Just saying cause it happened to some friends of mine also cause in adulthood and in women is wrongly undiagnosed many times

thanks for checking in 💕 I did a lot of evaluations with my therapists over the years and autism is very much ruled out. I got a combination of ocd, adhd and cptsd (lots of letters 😂) diagnosed. as soon as you have your „spot on“ diagnosis, it‘s like a weight lifted from your shoulders because suddenly everything makes sense and you stop blaming yourself ❤️ finally your treatment starts to bear fruit 🐻🍓
