I have my dog from a shelter too and he was 2 years old at the time. Apparently the former owner abandoned him at a gas station in Spain somewhere. I remember the first time I saw him at the shelter.. he was the only dog that was nowhere near the fence . He was just looking at us while all the other dog's were at the fence barking at us . At this moment I knew he's the one I want to have with me ..

Merry Christmas!! Your new puppy is adorable! One of my friends dogs was also an only puppy in his literal as well. He had to learn how to be friends with my other friends dogs. It took a while but they got along pretty well.

I have a jack russell and X-Large bully and the size difference is crazy but once they sit with each other for more than 24 hours they really just played together but sometimes little one just doesn’t have the same amount of energy to always be around each other they really need to get used to surrounding round each other and environment but I’m so happy for you guys and to still see you always happy is amazing we love it congratulations to everything right now it’s your time and you know when u ready 🎉❤

Good luck with the puppies. I have an older dog with twin puppies. It’s hard work but done right you’ll have amazing dogs. They will become best friends after a couple of months don’t you worry.

Remember y’all are the alphas in the house hold, not Monkey or rhino. It’s your role to correct either of them when they show signs of aggression. It’s Important to set both of them up for success as well. If they fight over food and the safety of either one of them is a concern either get help or be strict with feeding time. Feed them at same time but in separate rooms and make sure they finish their food. I recently add to my family with a new pup and it took my older dog a week or so to adjust.

Merry Christmas from Australia! We gave 2 dogs that we bought a year apart and the best tip i can give is do everything with monkey first. For example, when feeding, give monkey his food first, going for a walk, put monkeys leash on first and let monkey walk a little bit in front. Just little things like that. The vet had told us that our first pup Evee just needed to be reminded that she is still loved with milo coming in.

Btw my husband and our son ate pho on Christmas Eve too ❤🎉

With resource guarding the best thing is to take the object away owning 6 dogs 4 pit bulls and 1 Rottweiler and a little shitzu I only really had a problem with my Rottweiler cause they are a very dominant breed she would constantly resource guard all the time and growl teach the basics like sit and off and control the food and toys and then you can control that aggression for example my Rottweiler was so aggressive over its food and toys I remember my pit bull took the ball when they where pups and she freaked out and started attacking her when you see resource guarding best thing is to take the food or toy way and show to the dog neither of them have control over the food or toys. if you have money I advise to hire a trainer that’s the best option cause the trainer will teach you how to see and spot things and really get to understand your pets a lot better.

One thing when haveing 2 dogs .dont get a bone .

Let them be around each other the growling is ok that’s monkey teaching rhino I’m uncomfortable I don’t like that if you separate that you can end up risking a bad fight later on especially since rhino will get bigger the best thing is to not separate them but to keep an eye just in case things get to out of hand and you can stop it the best way spot a fight about to happen is if growling and tail tuck ears back those usually mean that a lash out might happen if it gets close to that bed thing to do is get rhino into a sit position and get him to stay best way to do that is burn his energy out running playing especially pit bulls have a lot of energy so yea
