Today’s episode is all about getting walls up baby! I am a total beginner when it comes to drywalling but that didn’t stop from tackling me when I got a crazy skim coat only quote for $4,500. Took a year but we are here! It’s floors, doors, makeovers and more after this. Full steam ahead and I am crying happy tears once a day about where my creativity is headed with this space. What room do you think I am tackling next?

Happy Wednesday my beautiful KZfaq family! Finally out of renovation station and moving into design BECAUSE WE HAVE WALLS. The reason I had to skim coat, sand and skim coat some more is due to the trailer have thee wonkiest frame. If the walls were perfectly level and smooth, I would’ve just done one skim coat. What room do you think I will be designing first?

LOVED this episode. FYI - KZfaqr full time fo 7 years, but don't think I've ever really left a proper meaningful comment. I so enjoy your episodes. Honestly so much just when you're talking about life, hanging with friends, self-care stuff, what you're learning and doing. Also the fact you had a breakup about 18 months before me, and you also got out of a 7 year relationship like I just did - shows me I'll be fine. It hurts but I know this was right. YOU are what I'm interested in since I feel quite similar in some ways. Also it's my dream to live in the area you're in and renovate. Ha. So I get to live vicariously through you. Thank you for what you do and any 'day in the life' videos, I'm here for it.

You should put an ornate, gold frame around your “picture” window in the kitchen area to make it look like a real live painting

Great idea! Also, place picture frames around any flat screen TVs that are mounted to the wall. Just for an extra touch of class. During gathering bring up your favourite photos of friends or doggos, on screen & it'll look like you've actually framed them. 💕

Look at what you have achieved, you should be super proud of it. The journey has been long for you with a steep learning curve, but nobody can take away from you all that you have learned in the good times and even in the rough times. You are accomplishing so much Rachel, congratulations to you!! Will be an amazing feeling when you can stand back and look at it, say to yourself, I did that! A few tears of relief and sheer joy are allowed! 😊

9:26 do you know that you can make an arch with 1 sheet of drywall seamless? You just need special roller with needles, you roll it at drywall sheet, make a mesh of tiny holes, then make this side wet. And then you can bend this drywall. Wet side goes to the studs, you got smooth arch surface without seams and mudding. Voila!

Babe - little late to the party, but I've been watching this channel for years and just have to say how superproud I am of what you and your wonderful friends have achieved with this build - the walls, windows, framing, insulation electrical, drywalling, taping and mudding, skimming - you've mastered so much in a few short years - light years on from the DIY dowel and copper plant stand. The first video of Rachel's that I watched was the property cleanup video in April 2021 when it came up in my YT listing. I was thinking "WHO is this chic? She is so cool and has a vision and a drive to produce these amazing changes that originate from her spirit." And I have been a supporter ever since. Rachel has skills and a fearless attitude. yay! my son did all of his drywall he had someone come in and do the taping and mudding, but he was very unhappy with the way they did it so he redid alot of it! he is extremely ocd on certain things! he is building his house mostly by himself. he did all of the electrical and he laid his floor upstairs. he did have a company come in and do an epoxy floor for the main floor, but they have to come back and do a clear coat again because they messed up. anyway! I know how hard it is to do most of this stuff, not by experience but by experiencing it through my son! thanks for sharing! xoxo

You can dampen dry wall to get a curve or much messier run lines along the back with a router.

Hell yeah, girl. It’s getting so close! Idea for you if the dry-walled curved wall/ceiling doesn’t work out. Use pole wrap from Home Depot or do a horizontal tambor! All the slats would be narrow enough to create a geometrically perfect curve. Plus, it could be a sick accent wall. Just an idea!
