Hi. Former UH-60B/L/R driver here. The 60R has a glass cockpit. This mixes 60B steam gauges with 60R displays in the back.

This is awesome. I actually did this as a job in the Navy. The dipping Sonar is called the ALFS or AQS 22. Shit breaks all the time. Absolute liability lol but effective. There are a few different types of sonobuoys including active and passive ones

@@JZagroHD I'm more interested in the performance of the buoys once deployed. I know they self scuttle but are they as effective as games like dangerous waters make them out to be? Or are they just piles of junk.

@@gamersunite7968 Sure! The scuttling can be set to different durations depending on how long someone is on station. I think the game over simplifies the entire situation. Once deployed, they enter the underwater "environment". Kind of like weather outside, depending on the conditions it will cause a great variation of performance. There is tons of pre-mission planning that goes into tracking submarines and is often reworked to some extent after getting on station. You plan for the worst and quite often you get some extent of it

Disregarding that you can actually take the Seahawk with you on a ship.

I just showed this to my father who was a Sea King driver in the 80's. his squadrons were HS-2, HS-8, and HS-10. He about hit the ceiling every time you called this a Blackhawk. I'm trying to convince him he needs to try this simulator. Cool video!

Try the surface mission and lase the target ship using hellfires. Try the SAR mission too. You can mount a gun and strafe the bad guy ships.

Looks like someone converted a Blackhawk variant to a MH-60R.. choppa looks awesome, but it's the wrong cockpit :-) ...Could be the old SH-60B cockpit.. I don't know, but the R has a lot of screens in it

Tobsen on the OH6 mod has figured out how to make AI gunners work without SDK. He has said he is willing to let the UH60 guys in on his coding. So maybe AI door gunners on the MH-60 soon?

Reminds me of that show on TBS back in like 2000 called War Games where they featured the exercise the navy does for this. The Seahawks working with the S3. That would be cool in DCS.

Shouldn't you go at an angle from your sonar buoys when you're dipping the sonar so that you can use parallax to get the distance/location?

Do DCS have any ASW fixed wing aircraft. They could lay sonobouy fields then the helos could track the sub.

lol you got some of your information Wrong. If you use a listining or passive sonobouy all the submarine will hear is the splash sound it makes when it hits the water. There are also active pinger somobouys that the submarine can track
