He said he already did off camera. It's bad practice to publicly ridicule ur friend for the world to see, especially when said friend is down, recieving the same thing from everyone else online. The only reason to do otherwise was if the situation was serious. For example r*ape or doing stuff with kids. In such a situation, after cutting ties with such a 'friend', it's also good to show a public stance so that u don't get dragged into the mess.

That's not a fk up. That is an intended ill will to regularly take advantage of someone with no consequences. That's not a "mistake", it's ill intention. Very much worth discarding such a "friend", especially since such people are incapable of friendship or any other reciprocal human relation.
