Say what you will about the barbarism of human in-species war; it has prepared us well for conflict, and if a cardinal sin against sentience is committed, many of our nations would go to war to right said wrongs without hesitation. Genocide is anathema to sentient morality, even to humans. The last time our entire species went to war was against a sociopath so evil they attempted genocide of a human demographic, and slaughtered millions of innocents. If someone glassed a HOMEWORLD, genociding a species in the process? Let's just say that even the children and teenagers will gladly work their asses off to put ammo in the guns and fuel in the tanks of those that can fight such a menace. secondly, you don't know humans. We run the gamit so thoroughly that some are wretched degenerates so vile as to enslave children and animals for their sexual pleasure, and some are so pure and kind they spend all their excess time knitting warm clothes for the less fortunate. Some will die for a single promise they made to a dead man, and some will lie compulsively. Some would never take even an animal's life for any reason, and some would gladly butcher their neighbours with a smile on their face for a small sum of cash. Humanity runs the entire gamut of sentient possibility. You don't know humanity, you know SOME humans.

Literally one of my favorite HFY stories. Loved the perspective that humans were useless until the hint near the end. They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.

Nice read. The "music" volume seems lower than normal which for me is an improvement. Just don't get rid of it.

yes it was a very good mix, the music gave it an aura and the voice gave it volume, it's rare but some scenes touched me

Humanity, Fuck Yeah there are some shared-universe stories (Jenkinsverse is my favorite) but it's usually unique sci fi settings per story. you've stumbled onto a gold mine of independent fiction my guy
