I've recently been introduced to the Mormon religion. My brain is more science than fancy, facts verses dreams. Then my brother provided me a copy of the BofM. I have been given a multitude of signs that God our Heavenly Father lives in everything, every where, omnipresent. I've looked for and prayed for a link between my science and what my heart wants to believe. And the Holy Spirit lead me to this video! THANK YOU heavenly Father! You've answered my prayers.

I am a Scientist, although I am still in school I am a biologist. I have a bachelors degree in biology, and I am pursuing a masters degree in biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic. ALL of the biology, chemistry, zoology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, etc. that I have studied have done nothing but strengthen my belief in God. I have had peers ridicule me for some of my beliefs, but the majority of my peers have beliefs similar to mine. I remember one time during finals where I was studying with class mates, and in the middle of the main floor of the science building I asked if any of them wanted to pray. Four or five of us knelt down and among my professors, peers, stress, noise, lack of sleep and others to ask for Gods guiding hand in our lives. I know God lives, just as I know Anatomy, Microorganisms, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and many more things. I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is real and true. I encourage all to study the scriptures and pray and ask questions and to pursue greater knowledge, to never grow tired of learning.

what a wonderful and powerful message. Our Heavenly Father loves us. I guarantee it. I have seen his protective and loving hand in my own life. Stay near the faith. Ridicule often comes from fear. Don't listen to it. Reflect on the story of the "great and spacious building" in Lehi's dream, in the Book of Mormon. It's all there.

@@Man-jf6lz and you expect god to intervene each time a child or a person gets cancer? Maybe some are meant to be called home and when they die they dont suffer no more. Everyone in the world is gonna suffer regardless. It's a part of life. And probably there is a reason for all those things that happen but most likely our minds are not capable of understanding. We are human our understanding only goes so far.

Existence is yet a marvel to me. My father always said, "The miracle is that anything exists at all." Yet space, galaxies, solar systems, the sun, our planet, our bodies, our minds, other creatures, plant-life, the timed seasons, the atmosphere, DNA, water, and so many other amazing miracles do exist and work together in an amazing harmony of life, of motions, of forces, of energies. I am surrounded by miracles that speak to me of an astonishing Creator of imagination, order, knowledge, and power- God. I love Him for being such a good God full of wonders, blessings, life.

Brandon Rushton EXACLTY!! I know who are scientists and basically non believers. I wrote this in a text. Mind you, I’m 53 and was raised. My dad was a doctor. We never had anyway to truly explain it to those who threw all the theories at us. A renowned scientist that believes in God AND the only one I’ve ever heard say what he does... this is what people like my friends here who are professors at UW Biologists, etc. Argue about with anyone who speaks of God needs to hear. It makes sense even more! He gives us the backup to explain why we didn’t come from an ape or a micro cell, etc. Amen and amen!

Jackson He DOES answer their prayers. God loves all of his children. He answers every sincere prayer of faith. It may not always be in the way we want, but he always answers them. Most of us, no matter where we live, will suffer pains and heartache from the challenges of life. If we turn to God and Jesus Christ and rely on them our burdens can be lifted and we can have hope and peace. God also has given us the precious gift of agency and will not stop someone from making a bad decision.

I am so grateful for the people who invited me to come and see what this gospel has to offer. Never stop sharing your light - the light of Christ, even when others don't yet appreciate your invitations. Eventually what you do will bring people closer to their Savior, I know I feel the power behind the light that you share. 💕 Keep that charity and love for others! Keep following Christ and noticing those blessings, they will carry you through life. 😁 Jesus Christ, his atonement, commandments, guidance, and Church is real. 😁 I know and believe with all my heart that these things are true, in the name of my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. @@kristinabaker4433 The gospel by which we're saved. We're under Paul's ministry today. Therefore we're not under the law of the old testament. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV)1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. And that takes us back to John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. So it's only by GRACE that we are saved not by works. Jesus did all the work and gave us GRACE (unmerited favor) as long as we have FAITH (believe) in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for SALVATION (trust in his blood). That's the gospel. Jesus said, Ye must be born again to enter into the kingdom.(accept Jesus as your SAVIOR)

@@JustChillin227 this seems like a little much, don’t understand why you felt the need to electronically throw Bible verses at her. But also, faith is a belief. If we truly believe in something, such as Jesus Christ being the literal God and Lord of us, wouldn’t we follow His commandments? Wouldn’t we do all that is in our power to become more like Him every day and live this life in the way He intended for us? Isn’t that true faith? Giving up our lives for Him, “He who loses His life shall find it”. If we let pride and arrogance out of our way we will have true faith, which leads to repentance. Giving this faith and then feeling the effects and seeing the effects repentance has in our lives (such as the ability to see the hand of God more openly, to receive His blessings and support in deeper ways than ever before as now we have the windows of heaven opened to us without restraint- keeping our end of the covenant) builds trust in the Lord. It allows us to accept Jesus Christ’s blood to save us because we now believe because we have seen His power and know the strength and limitlessness of His atonement. And this is the process of being born again in Christ or accepting the Lord as your Savior! He is our Savior now and today and there is no reason whatsoever to wait for the blessings and acceptance of the Lord as our Savior in our lifetimes! How beautiful and sweet it is to know the full gospel of Jesus Christ! Nothing in the world has brought more happiness into my life than the word of our Lord! Living His precepts is the way and I testify of its truth and the power of the atonement in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen.

There are flaws to the idea of only having one or the other. For example, only having religion and not science is bad! You can't get away from science, since every day we use it. We also use what science has given us. So how can you only live off of religion? Also only having science and not religion can be a problem for believers. Your basically infringing and limiting their freedom and freewill to believe in God. You can have both!

I love Lewis's analogy of both eyes together is the only way you can have the true view of the world around us. Recently I've been feeling almost embarrassed to call myself a Christian because I know that all of my highly educated friends & coworkers will immediately consider me as less intelligent. My wise husband told me that regardless of what the world considers intelligence-knowing God & his plan can only add dimension to your perspective on all science-only making one smarter, not less.

God's primary goal is to help us become perfect, like Him, and not give us a comfortable life. In other words, He's more interested in how happy we are forever, not just for our lifetime. There cannot be good without bad or happiness without misery. He lets us suffer only so we can learn to trust Him more, and value the spiritual over the temporal. I have felt enough of God's love to trust that all the pain and sorrow in the world is there because it is ultimately, eternally best for us.

My first question to missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints was very similar. I first asked if they believed in a just and fair God, I then challenged them saying that this so called "just" God did not exist. The answer they gave was simple and profound. If we did not know the bitter, we would not know the sweet either. This is a life of Joys and Sadness's, if not we would never grow emotionally, mentally or spiritually. As for those in 3rd world countries...

What evidence or even doctrine do you have that refutes the beginning of space and time in the manner of the Big Bang? There is overwhelming evidence for it and I do not see it as inconsistent with my faith in God as our creator.

Studying psychology, neuropsychology, neurobiology, physiology, biology, astronomy, HAs bore witness to me that there is a God that this world and the universe/ multiverse are not by sheer happenstance but there is purpose to everything; there is order and I /we are part of that order. Never fear that the majority of scientists are atheistic but we are less loud and we have to be carful, true religion and science testify of a great creator ... this is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Faith & science go hand in hand! The earth, its rotations, the laws upon which all things act (us) & are acted upon (matter) "denote that their is a God" as Alma testified! It is amazing how awesome creation, space, the galaxies, & universes are!!! Yet laws governs them all! How thankful I am that God has & continues to reveal His will & higher ways to us, so we might find peace and lasting joy in the blessings associated with OBEDIENCE to those laws that the specific blessings are founded upon!

God governs our life with a set of eternal laws and principles. One of them being the free agency of man and the respect of his exercise of it. He has provided a masterplan, given the laws to his children (through conscious, scriptures and personal revelations) and the principles of cause n effect and law of harvest take place in the world. He can interfere in the happenings ('miracles') if that is His will but will mostly respect the agency of man... and let them reap the consequences

True, true, and true. The more I learn the more I see that God must be. Even though I have a witness by the Holy Ghost, I see in all my "scientific" studies that all things witness of God and the light the emanates from him that fills the immensity of space and gives rise to the matter of my molecules. The 'God Particle' indeed, oh the irony. So, I seek to become quantumly entangled with my Father in heaven, to be "worthy" full of light and "in tune"; to come out of the static of entropy which is agency and be "ordered" and "finished, completed, and made whole" by His grace and tender mercy through His Son Jesus Christ.

Those souls suffering enormously due to the actions of others will receive solace from Him when they pray in faith. This life is not all that there is, and our perspective is limited at best. Death is not the end nor is it a punishment...that is how WE see death. Suffering happens in this life because of man and man alone.

I see God as being involved at every level of scientific knowledge. As Dr. Lewis said, He can be likened to an architect, but the most amazing architect of all time. He planned and carried out the creation of this incredible universe, and the more I learn from science the more I appreciate the complexity and sophistication of what He has created.

What a wonderful video! It's true that people who are willing to admit it find that the amazing complex workings of a single living cell, as seen under an electron microscope, prove that there has to be an intelligent designer behind all of this. Not even a single cell can come about by chance. Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus are so totally amazing we can't begin to comprehend just how much!!

Hi, thanks for your comment. We'd love to help you get in contact with missionaries. Missionaries move often and eventually return home, but we invite you to reach out to the missionaries assigned to your neighborhood or city now. They would be happy to meet you and share about the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can contact missionaries here: www.comeuntochrist.org/contact-us Have a great day!

This is where an understanding of the Atonement comes in. All the pain in the world is already taken care of and paid for. Every hurt of each child will be rectified. What this leaves for us is how we learn in the course of our human life. How we lived by what we learned. We learn best through hardship, we are purified through our struggles. And since we believe we lived before we were born, we also carry the knowledge that what we were born into we agreed to experience. It wasn't forced.

Thanks for such sooting music during a scientific soliloquy. It really adds! To me it symbolizes the lack of rancor which is one of his points: as science catches up let's be patient, not bitterly argumentative.

He does not kill them, we all were sent here.. we have free agency, we can choose good or evil. God does not murder His children.. we are here to endure whatever storms come our way. Those who suffer, suffer at the hands of evil men.. if God intervened and stopped every evil thing it would defeat the very purpose of choosing.. right from wrong! And their prayers do count and are heard. And as long as they believe in Him they will have eternal life!

Your question is a good one! It has been asked throughout the ages: "Either God is vicious because he does not want to prevent evil, or weak because he cannot. Could not God have made us all good so that we could not be anything but virtuous?" The best treatise I have ever read on this great question is "Death, Tragedy or Destiny?" by Spencer W. Kimball - Anyone interested in life's meaning will enjoy reading this!

THIS!!!!!!!! THIS SPEAKS TO ME SO MUCH!!! I have ALWAYS believed that God and science co-exist, that science DOES find truth just as much as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches truth, and just as much as God's word is truth! It may be in different terms, religion and science may use very different language, so to speak, however, I cannot understand how one can discredit the other. I never have. I do not believe that. I feel very strongly in my heart that we CAN use science to advance our abilities, and that when we need it most, God and Jesus can step in and perform miracles. I have also always felt VERY strongly in my heart that there are limitations put in place on the Earth and on the things that we are able to perceive and measure with machines and things that are meant to measure and prove, and that there are more fundamental laws of the universe that exist that allow God and Heaven to exist that we just can't quite observe yet… we have to trust in God to let us know it is true, and trust God to open our eyes and our minds and touch our lives, and only then can we understand the spiritual things. But they DO exist, things that go on outside of our own earthly perceptive abilities DO exist. And God DOES exist. It makes me sad to see people who believe in God be so suspicious and angrily discrediting of marvelous scientific advances and achievements e.g. vaccines simply because they are made by man, and to see people who have more scientific minds discredit God and not believe because they cannot observe with their five earthly senses, and cannot observe with their scientific instruments, God's existence. I wish people could see past the trap of misinterpreting God's word, and of trusting *only* in their own abilities, and would see God and his creations as they are.

God is a just God. He knows more than we do. Those people who starve and who are suffering or more stronger because of it. If we didn't have adversity in this life then how would we learn. We wouldn't learn if everything was good and happy all the time. To learn we have to go through trials. When it comes to my own life I usually learn when I'm going through a tough time. I think God answers our prayers on his own time. Just because he doesn't cure world hunger doesn't make him not a just God.

Jackson, God doesn't allow anything good or bad. He doesn't stop anything good or bad. We, you, did not come here by any other will than your own. You chose to live. You choose every moment what you want to be, do and have in this life. You ARE a piece of a whole. You are a spirit that is a part of the larger spirit or universe that we label as God. You choose how you will live...as do the rest of us. Not everyone chooses wisely.

Science and true religion go hand in hand, they support each other, lift each other up and helps one discover truths about an almighty creator. I am a behavior scientist specializing in research analysis, so having that perspectives has allowed me to ask many questions and I have found or discovered every single answer I asked in regards to my place in the universe, creation, and ultimately destiny. Ask questions with an open heart to receive those answers and in time all things will be reveled up to your understandings...then as you crest that hill you will see a whole other mountain of questions to discover :)
