This is our first port day on our 12-day Cruise onboard the Carnival Pride out of Dover, England. We land in La Coruna, Spain and fell in love with this port. Such a classic charm with old buildings, a beach and affordable sangria!

What a wonderful video, Spain is beautiful! That sangria looked delicious and the beach was gorgeous, too bad the water was so cold but at least you dipped your toes in, lol! Looking forward to the next instalment!

You both seem so happy it made me cry. I loved Spain and Portugal. Next year we’re doing Italy, Croatia and Greece with a back to back transatlantic to Miami with Royal Caribbean. Really looking forward to that. I’m excited to see the next leg of your trip.

Next week we will release our Lisbon Vlog. When we walked out on deck and saw that city for the first time we had tears in our eyes - it was overwhelming. That sounds like a great cruise next year. We hope to one day do a transatlantic. So jealous.

Wow! A Coruña looks muy bonita! I did several years of Spanish in high school and college, but I've yet to put that education to the test in Spain. It's so amazing to watch you roam the streets and hit the beach. I know you're more accustomed to the warmer waters of the Caribbean, so I totally understand why Jill only dipped her feet in the Atlantic up there. I'm always up early, so I totally understand Jerry getting up early to get going. Even when I try to sleep in on weekends, "sleeping in" for me means staying in bed until maybe 7:00. I love it whenever Jerry samples the vegetarian dishes! At least, I have a better idea of what I can eat should I get into the cruising life.

Thanks! We loved Spain and hopefully with time we can learn more Spanish. Folks there were happy to speak English so we didn’t get a chance to learn or practice the little Spanish we know. For Jerry - 7am would be sleeping in for sure!

This was a great video! Very interested to see how the series continues as we are debating between princess or carnival for a long European cruise next year. Looking forward to the next one!

We certainly did a balancing act in our minds of Carnival versus other options. Carnival was MUCH less money than other cruises and we the deciding point for us. The ship may not be as new as other, some of the service may be not as perfect - but for the European itineraries, a lot of time is spent at port and not on the ship. Is the Carnival experience less classy than other lines (like Princess)? We think so. So follow along our ups and downs in the 21 days on Carnival. It was an interesting ride, but we had a great trip - so Carnival must have met our needs.

I just ran a search for Europe itineraries on carnival for all of next year and don’t see a single cruise over 10 days, regardless of month / port that it departs from. How did you both manage to find a 21 day one? Thanks in advance - hope to catch you around one day.

@@blakeberge2313 we should have added that we didn’t do a 21day - it was technically a back to back of a 12-day combined with a 9-day. All different ports.

We had Jonathan on our Alaska cruise with Princess! He was incredible. Glad you're loving Europe! I'm from Ireland but I'm madly in love with Canada... not so fussed with Europe anymore.. crazy how where you come from can make you think differently about other destinations.

We love Ireland!! We need to trade houses for sure. Ireland is on the list of potential retirement places. Our next cruise vlogs will be several stops in Ireland.

The verdict was…..good burger but not as good as Dive-In on Holland America. Mr. Canuck still declares Guys Burger #1.

Hey. Just subscribed to your channel. We are going to visit La Coruna in September. Just wondering how far was the walk to the beach from the port ? Also where can we find those sangrias?

We found the sangrias at a place called Bocanegra at Rua Riego de Agua 33. It is very close to the cruise port. The beach is about a 10-15min drive through scenic La Coruna. Have fun!

Por favor, estáis visitando A Coruña en GALICIA, y esos acordes de guitarra flamenca andaluza no se corresponden absolutamente con el país de Galicia. Sí, un país de España distinto al representado por los tópicos españoles: flamenco, corridas de toros, paella, feria de Sevilla, Fallas, etc. Por favor, de nuevo, eliminad ese fondo de guitarra flamenca ya que A Coruña es Galicia. Gracias.

Thanks for the info. We don’t typically place music based on the musical history and trends for a location - instead it’s chosen to match and emote the feeling of being in that place and that time. The music ‘felt’ right for how we experienced that day, but we were in no way trying to suggest it was music from that specific area. Great comment - thanks.
