The minimum purchase is really good, do you get them to sign a contract to tie them in for a few months? Also how would you go about approaching businesses in the beginning to white label/wholesale ? ❤

This makes sense! It's similar to song writers that sell their music to musicians who can't/won't write their own music. Great idea! I know you mentioned that with white labeling, the business that is reselling the candle can sell it however they want. But have you ever considered requiring your white label customers to say in their fine print, "Made or Created by MBCO"? What are your thoughts on that?

Awesome video! I will say though, retailers are absolutely not obligated to use our MSRP. Even telling retailers what to charge is a new thing started by Faire. We set our wholesale price and they should set retail based on location and customers (historically). Some of my clients make more off my candles than me and I make the darn things. But I guarantee you, some of your Faire customers are charging more than the MSRP you input into Faire.

I believe in the US they don't have the obligation of CLP labelling, This is only a European Union & Uk thing

I have a client who we private label for. They just asked us how much we would charge to apply the labels for them instead of them doing it. I have no idea where to start. I wouldn’t but the label but I would put them on before shipping them to the client. Any ideas?

What about the safety label? Do you feel obligated to place one and does it have your information on it if you do?

Yes I always put the warning label, and for legal purposes it must include who it is manufactured by

We used to on our personal wholesale website but now that we moved everything on faire we don’t!

I’ve done this a time or two and I’m not sure what the answer is… I always put a warning sticker at the bottom of the candle whether I white label or private label. On my warning sticker, I have the usual… burning instructions as well as manufactured by “my company.” I wonder if the customer orders private label will this alleviate us as the seller from any possible insurance claim? I have candle insurance, of course, but would I be responsible for the insurance claim or would the white label customer be responsible? Things that make you go hmmmmm.

The internet is split on this from what I’ve looked up. I would say to expect to be liable for the products, just like selling retail. In my wholesale contract I used to include that the retailer would be liable for product damages, etc. But I don’t know how that would “hold up”. But, if I am taking responsibility for my products sold through my own retail line, then it would make sense that any product we make and sell would fall back on us in some way. I feel this is a question for my attorney, but I have prepared myself by getting business insurance and forming a S-Corp. Edit: I realized I forgot to I mention that I include my regular warning label at the bottom of every product! Whether it’s wholesale or white label
