one thing that this channel establishes beyond any doubt is that an old Lada is one of, if not THE most resilient and hearty automobile ever made. This channel has taught me that one of those Ladas, even one with hundreds of thousands of miles, can last and be reliable for its owner for life. And I want one. 😊id like to acquire one, redo the inside, rebuild the entire drive train and have it as a daily. or at least ready to be put into service whenever needed.

@@JacobJonesy the spark is about 40,000volts and it give a spark about 3inches if there was small enough insulator between each one it can be broken down at that short distance it would be very close ,soooo if they play with the distance of the tube and clear insulators I think it could work and they could really use a smaller tube as insulators for a cool lightening effect.

There is quite a bit of resistance built into an ignition system. The spark has to jump at least 2 gaps in a distributor ignition system (the rotor to the cap, the spark plug gap at the end of the plug). Most cars with spark plug wires also have a resistance designed into them (often around 1000ohm/ft) and a lot of spark plugs are resistor plugs (meaning they have additional resistance built into them). So, a mildly conductive liquid in a hose isn’t that dissimilar to the resistance already in a stock ignition system.
