Agreed. The DCU needs to have a Batman who actually faces off against supernatural threats since he’ll be sharing a world with gods and monsters. And give him the white eyes while you’re at it!

If i was making Batman movies part of a cinematic universe, i'd make the first one about Bruce adopting Dick Grayson. Trying to be a good father. Teaching Dick not to let his anger, and quest for vengeance, consume him. Having Dick earn the position of Robin by bring the man who killed his parents to justice, instead of killing him. Then the 2nd movie I'd do the Under the Red Hood story. With Bruce being haunted by his greates mistake. Becoming more cold and distant. More dark and brutal. The death of Jason Todd really affects him. Brings him right to the edge. Needing to be brought back to the light by Nightwing.

I love Pattinson's Batman, and I like that we get to have two takes at once but he wouldn't be a good fit for the DCU. Not to say it couldn't work at all. But Gunn calling his Phase 1 Gods and Monsters to me signifies that while we will probably see Batman deal with street crime. In this world where a lot of heroes already are active, he must have gone up against rouges with real powers. I think Reeves might push his villains in the second or third to be slightly less grounded than Nolan did. But not to the scale of full-blown metahumans. In the DCU even if they never do the Tower of Bable story, or him using the hellbat armor to survive an encounter against Darkseid, they need a Batman who would be capable of doing it.

I always thought that if they started the DCU with Arkham Batman, and started making “origin stories” of Superman, Wonder Woman, etc, then it’d be the best DCU out. The Arkhamverse still is salvageable, just make “another universe where ktjl never happened”. They could intertwine story with gameplay like many games do these days, without reducing gameplay quality ofc

Agreed but with a Superman/Batman Apocalypse Batsuit and a Batman who's actually the world's greatest detective without advanced tech doing the heavy lifting in the detective work. Less is more when it comes to his gadgets and surrounding characters. Let him be a super genius polymathic intellectual first and legendary grandmaster-level Shinobi/Samurai/SOF operator/Shaolin one-man army warrior. Leave the grounded-in reality takes behind as it's now stagnated Batman as a character. Personally, I would use 1982 The Thing for inspiration to have a Batman film with Blob Clayface as the villain. Utilizing practical effects as much as possible Batman will actually showcase him being the World’s greatest detective. He will have to pay attention to people's mannerisms to determine whether or not they are who they say they are or Clayface. This will allow Batman to showcase his legendary scientific knowledge to develop a cure for Clayface's condition. He shouldn't have to grow as a detective since he should already be the best in the world.

I agree, I think an ARKHAM-BATMAN, should be introduced in the (DC U.) setup.

Batman is my fav super hero. I would appreciate a Batman that's a cross between Matt Reeves and Christopher Nolan's Batman.

Im glad pattinson batman isnt connected to any universe. Dc doesnt need to be the mcu. Dc needs to keep making movies that dont tie into eachother. Make them all one offs. Cast different people as batman after every now and then

Here's my pitch for a long form series of batman movies. Start off with jason being robin and dick being nightwing off with the titans, have the audience get attached to jason and in a second movie (could be first if you don't want it that long) do death in the family and kill jason off, in a third have batman being sloppy like in the comics and tim finding dick to be robin again and when he refuses have tim be robin for a movie or two and really show his love for Stefanie brown. Then jason comes back as red hood and adapt under the red hood. Then next movie bring in Damian. have tim see what could happen if he dies with jason and see that theirs a new robin that could take his place, then pull a wally from young justice and retire him with Stefanie. Have jason do redhood and the outlaws and show him happy with his friends, and for the love of god have dick and barbra get married, or at least be in a relationship. insead of tim being a redundancy he becomes the one that makes it out happy, jason can heal from his trama with the help of his friends, dick is protecting bludhaven with a wife and damian is robin, then you could have a legacy movie with batman beyond if you want.
