Frenkie De Jong His first season at barcelona was something else. People should go look at his 19/20 season highlights and you’ll see what i’m talking about. It’s like under that team he was a completely different player. I think Valverde had a clear role for him. He would always go forward and break the lines. These past few seasons he’s become the opposite, doing more and more back passes, useless feints, and doesn’t even shoot. If we can get that version of de jong again he would definitely be one of the best in the world. De jong needs to player high up. Defensively he’s not the one.

I dont fully agree, Frankie is a good defensive box to box. There is no other player that can make a progress run with the ball in the barca dressing room. Pedri only moves the ball side to side, gavi is great but he is the one who take from the center, Frankie is the only player I see in the barca dressing room that can take the ball from deep and make a progressive run in the middle.
