15 month user here. I've had none of the issues mentions. No weakened battery, no breaking parts. That being said, I've always kept it in its case and put the case in my backpack. (also I think there's tiny little separation on the right end of the headband, but its not noticeable. Though it may be an indication of lower quality and durability due to the recycled material used)

Very nice of you guys to do an update video especially when you have experienced any issues!! 🙌 That issue you have with the sliding headband would really annoy me. The small % of failure rate you mentioned would probably be related to heavy users. I think Sony has gone backwards with the cushions on the ear cups on these - the XM4 are still the best!! They would be my recommendation now if one were looking to buy a pair of headphones. They fold up and the case is compact and nice. I wouldn't go for the Sennheiser M4 or these XM5 or any other headphones which don't fold up!!!

I’m wearing XM3 now. As long as you get a good pair, they are bulletproof. Of course I have the XM-4 (white noise problem👎🏻) and the XM5 (charging right now)

I totally agree with Kevin - the Bose QC Ultra is so Dope!! 🔥🔥 The sound, the ANC, call and transparency quality, so comfortable!! 🔥🔥 And looks so good (smoke white & Sandstone colours)!! 🔥🔥

I remember when these came out I knew i'd break the tiny frame because of my big head & ear piercings, I have to pull them apart so much taking them off. No matter how careful I am, I eventually brake all my pairs the same way so I bought the soundcores instead & have been loving them for 2 years

I've been wearing these For more than a year now and the only problem I've faced is when you sweat while you're working out the ear pads tend to have the smell over time and inside of the year pads pad gets discoloration that's about it but other than that these are really good

Its not desgined for gym use/sweating. However if you do feel like it ( I am with you, fantastic to close out the gym ) check out WC Sweatz sweat”proof” ear pad covers. One guy wrote it well: it mainly saves your earpads but still might not protect sweat getting inside either directly or due to condenzation, heat. However people really like it and the brand seems to be a good one.

Almost 3 weeks into getting my momentum 4 headphones... they started doing weird stuff. The right ear cup has a white noise and the left cup started giving off random high pitched feedback... I'm returning them and I hope the true wireless buds don't have this issue! (First and final try for me with sennheiser)

i had purchased it after watchin ur review.. got it second hand for 17000/- indian rupees.. its perfection.. only worry i have is if they get spoiled under sweat, cuz the manual says nt to use it while working out.. Otherwise the ANC is perfection.

Because I travel a lot I went with the Sony XM4's simply because they fold up smaller and have less of a footprint making them easier to stuff in a carry on bag - The sound quality is excellent and the noise cancellation is about the best you'll find anywhere in the same price range. They're very comfortable to wear making them ideal for hours and hours of constant use. They charge fast and the battery seems to last a long time too. Basically they have everything I'm looking for in a good pair of headphones.

Same with me, I bought the XM4s 4 months ago, trying to decide between the XM4 and the XM5. I'm not an electronics expert, so while I wanted great noise cancelling headphones, I couldn't justify the extra cost of the XM5s given their lack of foldability and they were not comfortable.

@@AustralianChristianFascists there is a reason on amazon the xm4 and xm5 are the same price. I have the xm5 4 months now. I think they're more comfortable than the xm4 for long term wear but that is all.

My xm4 too failed after two years (just a few days after the guarantee expired). The sensor made some sort of interference and the headphone put out an awfully loud noise, a common problem (or so I read). Very disappointed with Sony, especially when I heard the xm5 too have known problems like the fact they easily break in half just above the earcup, as you said

In my case, what I need is a strong clamping force and loose padding on the headband, the XM4s and XM5s have a good amount of padding but too tight and it makes my head hurt.

Probably the Q45. I had them, and they are great budget headphones. The sony wh-1000xm5 are still the best.

Best bang for the dollar are the Soundcore Q35s. With th XM5s you get 15% more headphones for 300% more price :). Hope Sony makes better value headphones.

Exactly the same for me. I went from XM4 to QC45 to XM5 to Sennheiser Momentum 4. They have deeper earcups like the QC45, 60 hour battery life, good noise cancelling, top tier sound, and are cheaper than the XM5.

@@miggyyusay i have my xm5s, i wesr them all the time except for working out. I do NOT like the fact that sony prefers owners to not even sweat in these bc they could be damaged.. I guess im trying to find a new daily driver headset so i can stop wearing these (1500hrs listened in the headphone app since buying) and i can actually sweat in them and not have to avoid all perspirstion and mist. I absolutely love my xm5s though, super comfy for me and the anc is pretty goated

Creative Zen Hybrid Pros come in at $99 and are killing the xm5s in my humble opinion, you should try them

@@mrmurdock6994 you can tell our ears are different because I feel the same about the xm5s, I have them and feel like there bass is lacking, they still have good anc but the sound just doesn't do it for me on Sony's headphones, and prefer the creatives over them, but my favorites are bowers and Wilkins but the price for most people they won't buy them.

As I was in the market for an overeat headphone I decided for the old Bose qc45 over the xm5 and never regretted it, they are just such an easy and joyful everyday carry with reliable physical buttons and a super comfy fit. I like their clean sound very much too and I got them for about 180€ new from amazon what is a steal. Later I got the xm4 on sale for a good price, but I almost never use it, just always grabbing my qc45. They sound better, the buttons are better and the xm4 hurt the top of my head after 15 minutes or so of wearing them. Not a fan of Sonys headphones so far.

Avoid them, mine broke at the hinge in less than 2 months. It's very thin plastic where it snaps, clearly that care more about looks than durability.

Sorry but I can't take your opinion seriously if you think "sound quality of Sennheiser Momemntum 4 is leaps and bounds ahead of XM5"!!!!! I mean have you tried them both?! Compared to XM5, momentum 4 sounds pure treble and noise.
