It went through at the inlet where the rubber is thicker. That's how they can do the needle through a balloon trick, the 2 ends of the balloon does not stretch as much as the rest.

I think this video brilliantly catches the essence of this channel. Three guys (and an editor) having fun. I mean .. when those three balloons were inflated, that was just a special moment for all of them. The montage from the editor captures that perfectly. Off task? Perhaps. Awesome? No doubt!

Came here to say the same. May have been that 3rd balloon was slightly under inflated, thus a more pliable surface.

Might be that it entered near the inflation point where the rubber is thicker. Like with a toy balloon, you can puncture it there and it doesn't burst due to a higher resiliency of the thicker material.

Yh I noticed that too I think the dart, not the point, pressed against the balloon but because it wasnt sharp as it wasnt the sharp end it just popped it on the weakest point being the other side.

6:25 You see how the dart went through the last balloon and it didn’t pop right away because it went through the non stretched part of the balloon near the neck. It only popped once it came out the backside of it. Very cool!

I don't know if the dirt even went through or if it was just the shockwave that made it pop that way. You can see a shockwave traveling through the balloon and then it pops when it reaches the other side

@6:33 that largest balloon allowed the dart to pass through it before popping on the exit from the backside. I have never seen that. You can see the ripple of the entrance and the release and pop from the exit. Awesome!

i just want to point out, that if you watch the slowmo carefully at 6:30. you will see that the dart goes through the thick part of the third balloon, and pops it at the rear. that is what caused the delay in the pops.

Did anybody else a few years back get into playing that ‘light up the ball’ game?? Right around 5:00 . . . It’s like a real life version of it! Remember? Green balls performed a certain task (turned the light off?), I think blue bounced the ball? You had to use those to make a lot up ball contact with other unlit balls to light them up…🤔 ….and the music was really soothing….

I don't think the dart actually penetrated the 3rd balloon at all, it just lost too much momentum in the 2nd balloon. The reason it blows out from the back is the ripples on the surface all travelling around and creating a weak spot that blew when they crossed each other on the opposite side of the impact.

@@irwfcm I remember from childhood and playing with both regular and water balloons that the area immediately adjacent to the knot is not fully taut, and a pin can puncture the balloon and allow water to squirt out, or air to leak, without the balloon popping. Same thing happened here, and the dart went clean through, then popped it from the inside!

Scott threw that dart through two balloons, then managed to get the dart through the area RIGHT next to the nozzle of the third balloon so that it passed through the whole thing and popped it coming out the other side. I won't even BEGIN to calculate the odds of that. Well done lads.

I suspect that as the blower upper ran for quite a long time there was a sufficient temperature increase, combined with the friction of expanding rubber to produce buoyant conditions against the ambient air at floor level.

At 6:26 what's weird is the first two balloons explode at the impact point but the last one explodes from the exact opposite side

I think it went through right next to the nozzle of the balloon. If you puncture that area on a regular balloon it's a slow leak (because the rubber isn't taut). Then it passed through the inside of the balloon and popped it on the other side

@@gr33bo Yes, if you play back around 6:17 and watch to the top right of the last balloon's opening, you can see a tiny mark/hole form that wasn't there before that forms right when the dart should be passing through! also, from that same view you can see the top of the balloon shudder slightly from the impact. crazy odds for that to happen.

Fun fact: The sphere you see in slow motion is NOT water droplets on the outside of the balloon turning into a mist (despite what some people might tell you) What you are ACTUALLY seeing is air under enough pressure that the density (and therefore humidity) of the air inside the balloon is greater than the humidity outside of the balloon, therefore it creates a temporary fog that catches and refracts light. As hydrogen and oxygen are more and more pressurized, it becomes more stable as water vabor (H2O) and since stray hydrogen and oxygen are condensing into water vapor and the compound is much more dense than the stray elements, it actually serves to store potential energy by taking away actual air pressure... but this effect is so small that it has nearly no noticeable effect... but gradually, the air these guys are pumping has lost a certain amount of air pressure in turning air into water vapor... and it's that water vapor that is visible after the balloon pops. So this effect isn't just taking place at the edges, though it may look that way. The space in the center of the balloon is similarly pressurized and similarly humid. If the balloon were completely invisible, you would see a perfect ball of haze until the balloon burst.

Ok on the triple balloon pop, the dart entered the 3rd balloon so close to the neck (or whatever you call it) that the thick rubber didn't tear the balloon apart, allowing the dart to stay inside the balloon and pop it as it exited instead of entered. That was really cool and I wish their slowmo could've seen it
