@irgv-tec2560 yet people are K swapping NSX's. C series is a cool motor, but nowhere's near the league a 2JZ when it comes to modding it. There's 2500hp 2jz out there churning 6secs in 1/4. An NSX or c32 or even c30 isn't doing either those things. Grannas racing on the other hand..... Love my Hondas but again C series was outclassed by a lot of straight 6s
@igvtec
@igvtec 7 ай бұрын
@@LegerAndCo C-series back in the day, was a hell of a lot more expensive. And more rare. Compared to the 2jz being more numerous compared to C-series. Which is why I believe, it hasn't had a chance to have as much development from the aftermarket sector. compared to the rest of the engines out there. Guarantee the c series it would hold more power than a k series with the standard block. There are more k series out there less expensive and more aftermarket support that's why people go k series. As for what the c-series could achieve, really is unknown as there is not enough examples out there that could define what it could do.

What an absolutely terrific sound coming out of that set up!! Wow!! For an engine/drivetrain putting down under 200 wheel horsepower and only 2.4 liters, that engine with that specific exhaust matched up delivers a very sweet low tone resonance that rises all the way up to redline even when those ripping tones enter the mix. Absolutely perfect. The beauty on the ears of carrying that low resonance all through the range of acceleration is that it never begins to turn into a painful shrill of all higher engine notes inside the cabin. That perfect.y blended tone ensemble tells you this thing is breathing perfectly for its tune which delivers that hard and smooth acceleration. It’s no wonder why folks are so addicted to that engine series. So cool. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

Before the crap talking begins, I had an EJ8 Civic coupe that I swapped in a fully built LSVTEC (1.85L DOHC VTEC) with fully forged internals (CP .030" over pistons and Eagle rods) micropolished, balanced, and knifedged crank, and I swapped on a PR3 B16B (Civic Type-R) head, Skunk2 Stage 3 cams, 3 angle valve job, Skunk2 dual valve springs with titanium retainers, and Skunk2 Lost Motion Assemblies. It had WAY too many mods to list in a KZfaq comment, but with a Garrett GTS3582 dual ball bearing turbo on 34 psi it made 709 whp. Even a stock K24 with supporting mods like ARP head studs and a MLS head gasket) can make 550 whp with good tuning. Brian Gilespie is a legend and his crew make some AMAZING products for our cars. Hell, back in the very early 00s I built a 1992 Acura Integra hatch with a stock B18A1 with a 5 speed with a junkyard sourced turbo kit and it went on to make 257 whp at 15 psi on an old worn out 1.8L DOHC non-VTEC and it still had ice cold AC and was able to make 28 mpg with the bigger injectors. Hondas are SO easy to make a fun daily driver.

Though, with not much mods I was making almost 400awhp and drove it like that for 5 yrs with no issues before I sold it. That's another story. I saw you guys on Donut Media, very happy to see them join you guys on this build. This has turned out to be a very fun collab, I hope you guys have more content coming up together. In the future I'd love to see you guys do a build off collab with Speed Academy that would be freaking awesome! Love how surprised Moog looks on the drive after the dyno run.

I'm literally not even halfway through, but I already know this is my favorite MCM video. It is so very hard to pick, mind you! But the absolute positivity and community you are showing here, learning from an expert and even publishing mistakes. Speaking so positively of your peers at all times. Truly an inspiration to ME, your channel is part of why I love the car scene and I can only speak positively of the fun, exciting atmosphere you generate. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but It is great to see the hard work that goes into extensively R&D'd parts, that make it so that modding these vehicles is more accessible for more people. Bravo everyone!

You guys build some of the best cars in the world,not just because of the power or sound, sometimes the way you build a car and the style of the car is just amazing,not too flashy,not too over the top...just perfect.Saludos from Spain

I'm surprised it made only 215 because mine made over 230 without a drag cartel cam K24a RBB3 head. I definitely think it has a lot more left in it. Because with a cam I was expecting 250 whp+

One thing to touch on when doing a swap like this is, I had to purchase a 2006 civic Si Brake bias valve, With the gearbox being on now the other side to stock in my Aerodeck, the ABS unit would not clear the downpipes (4 Branch) Thus doing this is also an abs delete so what ever you do please do Not take the bulb out of the dash when it shows up as a fault ;)! Great video guys My has sport mounts were beautiful too.

Drive shafts were also an annoying issue I had, I put the ends from my MB shafts on to the K20 shafts, and because of the position of the engine in the car and the wheelbase of the MB / EK I got binding issues and a bad rumbling noise when going over bumps. I eventually bought some Correct length custom shafts, Not cheap but seriously worth it. Making sure you have the correct Loom for the engine bay is also important as some d16's dont have the wiring for the v-tec solenoid. Luckily my car did, I got my Loom for all of this stock ecu adjustments from a company called Boost works and it was spot on, Probably the hardest part of the build though by far figuring out how to adapt the k20 ecu to to the car. Sorry for the rambling, Just here to try and help best I can! Share the love

Now that this has been done, it would be cool to get Mark (Frankenstein's Motorworks) to either make more power out of a 2AR/2GR in their stock chassis or in a MR2.

Marc is tickling the underside of 300whp with the AR and recently cracked 400whp with the 2GR. I just want to see MCM and FMW come together to build something like a 2GR SW20. 😉
