I am 78 and in the past year I watch more KZfaq than regular TV. At age 75 I built my first chicken house. Most of my building knowledge came from KZfaq. Since then I have built 3 more. My husband showed me how to use each power tool but I did the build. Thank you for all you do on KZfaq.

Which is weirdest the person that raises their food and understands the sacrifices made to feed a family, or the person that assumes food only comes from the grocery store and are so disconnected from their food sources they assume meat is mass produced in China and ships neatly packaged in plastic wrap like their cell phone or television.

Folks, there's no justification for anyone making nasty or rude comments. I'm almost 76 years old, have severe spinal issues, and I am physically unable to do much. Several years ago, I started making quilts, but I experience a lot of pain. Nevertheless, I really enjoy the homesteading vlogs, and I love families! Everyone struggles in life -- that's just part of living. I try to concentrate on the things I can do and not worry about what I cannot do. May God bless you and your family.

@@alicejones9870 Alice, I was one of five children, and we were very much economically challenged. In the things that mattered most, we were as rich as kings. I would love to be able to do more for all people, but I'm almost 76 years old, and survive on social security retirement. Although I am far from wealthy, thanks to my son, I am not starving by any stretch of the imagination. I firmly believe that hatred and hostility toward others is just wrong. If one hates, sooner or later that hatred will turn around and bite the hater in the butt. Hatred destroys a person from within, and that's a miserable way to live. That's not the way I want to live and it's not the way God wants us to live.

That's one of the things I appreciate about your channel and the Rhodes's and other channels I watch all the time. You explain what you're doing and why, simply and clearly, and encourage people to try it. Also, you try out new skills, raising new animals, figuring out new techniques, going places and trying out things you haven't done before, and speaking honestly about your feelings on a whole range of things. It really cheers me up. Thank you.

I am so respectful of the trials that they have gone through. I can so relate to what he went through. It took 5 years for the doctors in NY all 13 of them to realize I have Lupus. Even now I dont have much faith in them to this day I still voice my opinion and argue with them about forcing meds on me.

I don't watch much TV now and rarely the news. I find all you homesteaders interest me so much more. How you build things, raise things, grow things etc. At 82 it is not something I will be doing but I so appreciate y'all and the efforts you put into your homesteads and the videos you share. I watch more you tube shows and recently started listening to audio books while I do my crafts. The James Herriot Books, Agatha Christy etc. All free. Thanks for sharing your story. Have a Blessed day.

Hello from BC, Canada. The further most western province in Canada. Our coast is the Pacific coast. I have watched Justin Rhodes videos for a long, long time and found yours through theirs. I love watching you both and the children doing chores and gardening and hearing all of your plans that may be coming in the future. I am an old lady (79) and started homesteading in my 40's. Just my husband and I. Our kids were all grown up. The grandkids eventually came along and loved it here. We are now too old to do any of it anymore. Lacy, you would be a wonderful friend and you stand up for others. I can only say carry on and hugs to you all from the old lady.

What a beautiful tribute to the Rhodes family from you both. So uplifting to hear how community helps community. Family supporting family. We need this concept back again. It doesn’t have to be homesteading! This return to family values can happen to an family if you put your mind to it. Use the struggles to bring yourself up, not get caught in the bottom of the barrel. We did it in an urban setting. It’s in your mind and your heart. All our love to you and your family Mike and Lacey. ❤️❤️🙏🏻😊😊

Y'all are awesome! I am signed up for Justin premiere. I used to watch other homesteading channels but you are the one I've stayed with. The two of you are positive, hard working, your children are a pleasure to watch, as I said on your last video you both are inspirations. Thank you. PS no tv for me either, I read or watch KZfaq.

Love you Lacy and Mike! I feel your tears in a happy way. Found you all here from Justin Rhodes as I have with many of the homesteaders I watch here on KZfaq which is the only TV for me. I am not even YET a homesteader myself but I sure hope and dream even at almost 51 to be. You all make it possible for me to see the possibilities and keep that dream for me alive and a reality. Thank you!

I also don’t pay for cable, can’t afford it & there really isn’t much I would watch anyway. I am forever in a state of pain. At least half of my body hurts on a daily basis. I think you guys, Doug n Stacy & Justin were my first homesteaders I started watching. I now also watch Roots n Refuge, whispering Willow farm, art n bri & several others. All of you have given me the strength in the last few months to just go out and grow something! I am pleased to say I have been eating lots of leaf lettuce the past several months. I have tomatoes & peppers growing now & have a few more things on the list. Thank you very much for your videos and allowing me/us into your lives. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👩‍🌾🌼🌱🌻

We totally agree! We don't have cable TV either. The worst thing to watch now days is the news. I'm not even gonna get into that right now. We have internet & if we choose we can watch the Firestick or KZfaq.

The first youtube channel I ever watched was MyLittleHomestead. I fell in love with their family and binge watched all of their videos. I quit watching regular TV, and gradually started watching many other homesteaders' channels, including yours. The Fit Farmer! Now I can't miss a video that any of my favorite people post. Some of my other favorites are: The Stivers Homestead, Roots and Refuge, The Macs, Sow the Land, Good Simple Living, Living Traditions Homestead, VW Family Farm, Cog Hill Family Farm, Trent and Allie, Bushradical and Girl in the Woods, Lumnah Acres, This Farm Wife, Pappa Pepper, Bobblehead Homestead, Simple Living Alaska, Weed 'em and Reap, Red Tool House, Gold Shaw Farm, Red Poppy Ranch, Appalachia's Homestead, Josh Sattin, The Indie Project, Eamon and Bec, Off Grid Homesteading with the Boss of the Swamp, Outdoors with the Morgans, Modern Self Reliance, White House on the Hill, The Hollar Homestead, Shawn James, Self Sufficient Me, Des the Hobo Travel Nurse, The Dawn of Vanlife, and My Alaska Dream. Whew! And I probably forgot a few. KZfaq is where it's at! :-) Edit to add: Oh, yep, I forgot Doug and Stacy! I'm watching them build a log house for his mom.

I started with Jess and Miah at Roots and Refuge with a simple search for vertical gardening. Since, I’ve found y’all, Justin Rhodes and so many other beautiful humans. Thank you so much. I’ve learned. And learned. And learned some more. Two years ago, I never could have imagined where I would be. Now, I can’t believe how far I’ve come. Always learning.

The ones that can not connect with such a loving family is just BEYOND ME! They are the most loving parents and the proof is in the pudding! They have obviously well behaved and kind, loving children. There are haters everywhere...pray that God softens their hearts. It is because the 2 of you are so alike and such kindred spirits that you love them so. Bravo ! Stand together and stronger!
