Sir Patrick Stewart's portrayal of Captain Picard in ST:TNG is a true role model, much like a father figure. Not many actors can forever be remembered for such a portrayal that can span across generations. 🖖🌠

Watching this, you can see the huge range of emotions on Stewart's face. He and Jonathan Frakes have a very deep friendship and respect for each other, and you can see how much he enjoys working with him and how much fun he has. Secondly, you can see pain in his face as he knows this is most likely going to be the last time that he'll put on the uniform - his last appearance as Jean Luc Picard. Thanks for everything, Patrick. Picard was my TV dad growing up, and so much of that character's wisdom has stuck with me over the years as I had a pretty rough childhood growing up and didn't have many positive male role models to look up to. Following his career afterwards, and seeing how much he loves the craft, people, and life in general continues to be a huge point of inspiration. Janeway, Sisko, Archer, and Kirk - I love them all, but Picard has been and will always be my Captain.

Picard season 1 was the last Star Trek I was able to watch with my adoptive Father, who passed away in 2020 due to colon cancer. The series holds a special place in my heart, as does Sir Patrick Stewart, who stood up against violence against women, an advocate for mental health awareness and is an over all incredible human being. If more people on this planet were like him, we'd be well on our way to the future Gene foresaw.

It's always good to see Patrick Stewart. I do wonder why the creators of Picard insist on making every scene so dark though. I don't mean storywise, but actual lack of proper lighting. The clip they show here is a great example: if you're in an alien bar, show us you're in a bar with aliens. Instead, the lights are so dim all you can see are the actors faces and a bottle of booze. I know bright lights aren't an actor's friend after a certain age, but any darker and you're basically doing an audio play.

Each season is like a book. Not really dependent on the other except for a few things most of which you can just get from context. This season is much more like a movie from what I hear. Like "the missing adventure" we should have gotten. You could watch the season I'm pretty sure without watching the first two. I personally enjoyed them but they have their issues somewhat. Don't let others decide for you. If that clip intrigues you, watch it. All reports are that this is very good.

It's not TNG but they never meant to be that way. It's like he said on here, his character changed through the years and if you watch it in that way it makes more sense. There are a lot of things injected in there such as woke stuff but hard to escape tv today that doesn't have it.

That line brought me back to TNG's "Cause and Effect" (a great episode FYI), or as one might call it... "Star Trek's Groundhog Day" with the events repeating itself over and over again. The final solution, was the number "3" appearing all over the ship. Data surmised that the number "3" was the amount of rank insignia on Commander Riker (3 pips), and his suggestion of decompressing the main shuttlebay, ultimately saved the ship and broke the time loop.

@@Tao_Tology season 3 is slated to be a course correction in a number of ways, as producers have mentioned. I think Strange New Worlds showed how they can bring better writing to modern Trek. 1 and 2 weren’t loved by longtime fans, but If Season 3’s ratings are high enough, producers and TNG cast have said they want to do more with a new series. A movie was even floated.

Love this man. To bad the writers just don't know Star Trek and keep screwing up history and lore.

Nothing compared to what Diznee does with their Marvel and Star Wars franchise, though. But I never cared much for purism and the notion that everything should always walk down the same lane...

@Ganiscol picards problem isn't lack of purism. It contradicts itself not even episode to episode but minute to minute for the sake of "drama" which doesn't add up to anything

Shame the first seasons were so terrible. Maybe S3, with the ensemble from TNG back all at once... might improve things... but with these writers I doubt it.

Sharing the fate of Luke Skywalker and becoming a victim of poor and indoctrinated writers can be called a "change"

Everyone has changed, unfortunately so has Brent Spiner yet they apparently haven't bothered to use deep fake CGI to keep an Android looking the same age …

@@FirestoneX if nothing else, he was always able to grow his hair. So in one episode he grew a beard - in competition with Riker and Worf. 🧔

They did. The results were not good. Now that the tech has improved, the character Data is dead. Let's see how they explain why Lore looks as he looks.

@Digitalismuk In TNG's season 7 episode "Inheritence", they mentioned that Data's "mother" Juliana Taynor, who is actually an Android built by Soong... Has an aging program. Just... like... Data !
