Not an expert here, you would need a lawyer for that, but to me it seems there has been a breach of contract by the yard many times over. I also agree that their constant rate change and the sudden requirement to move is a massive disorganized mess. Also it seems to me the rate change was nothing more than a money grab because they knew you were stuck and had no other option.

I, like you, prefer to stay on my own ground in my own "yard" fixing my boat. I guess the point is to chose a size and type of boat (smallish mono?) you can easily put on a trailer and move to a location that suits you the best technically, logistically and financially, and not go for the megalomania gigantic multies that "requires" a pro yard. Btw Sam, hope you doing well back in Florida(?) until you can return to the chilly waters my side of the pond.

The name "Thunderbolt" leaves a bad taste in my mouth about Southern Hospitality. In 1970 just back from Vietnam (you know the war everyone wants to thank us for NOW, LOL.) as a helicopter crew chief and gunner. A few friends from our duty station at Hunter Army Air Field invited us to a party. It just happened to be in the coastal suburb of Savannah called Thunderbolt. While having a few beers and listening to music the Thunderbolt police decided to raid us and charge us for disorderly conduct. The chief had borrowed the Savannah paddy wagon as they were too small to have their own. After funneling all 15 to 20 of us into the courthouse (no other facility large enough to keep us in I guess) we sat around till the MP's picked us up. In court the following week the Justice released most of us because the damage was already done. The brother-in-law of the chief had a towing business. He had all our cars towed away so they could collect a large fee from us. We were not parked illegally but they did it anyway. As for the ones who were fined, the friends who rented the house were charged with running a disorderly house because they had a girl staying with them as she just had gotten kicked out of her friend's apartment. She reminded me of Mama Cass, not the illicit girl they made her out to be. As it turned out our commanding general was so pissed off her put Thunderbolt off limits and made all military living in Thunderbolt to move out and used the War Powers Act to keep them from paying any fines. I got out of the service 2 weeks after this event and the irony is the Monday after our arrest on Friday my orders came down to receive the military's Good Conduct Medal. LOL

I have seen USN base commanders have problems like that (Portsmouth Virginia ("sailors and dogs keep of the grass") comes to mind) that all that Commander has to is THREATEN to put somewhere 'OFF LIMITS' and the 'policy' will change!

Forgive me for my French but what an absolutely shitty way to run a yard. As a retired director or management for a fairly large company I can say without a shadow of a doubt were this a location that I was in charge of management for there would be a lot of boxes being packed to make room for new management. I can also say as an owner my vessel would never be anywhere near this yard except in passing. I don't know what happened but in times past this was no way to run a business and would have led to bankruptcy in short order. Is it that this yard is the only one in hundreds of miles of it's location that can handle larger vessels? There has to be something keeping them in business because it sure as hell isn't sound practices. Congrats on getting as far as you have and although the reduction in yard rates is a welcome reprieve after seeing this yards past actions I wouldn't count on it for long. May you find the materials you need and the repairs continue to go smoothly, God Bless...

"How To Run A Boatyard" 101 Chapter 1:A Organization. You will need a dart board with stickup notes on it. Spin yourself twice before throwing the dart at the board. If you hit the board and a name or number on the note, thats the boat your going to screw with this week. 1:B Ethics And Agreements. We are still trying to sort this one out. You guys are showing more class than that yard and it sucks that theres no other immediate option at this moment. I'd mention the yards name in your vids...so the next guy doesn't get screwed. Your patience and tolerance is astonishing. i've worked in several yards and visited plenty in europe (mostly france/spain), i've never seen a yard this unprofessional. changing rates while you are there is criminal, effectively blackmail/ransom. sue them. your videos will support your case. your suppliers also owe you compensation and refunds. I always have my mobile on record when 'negotiating', just in case i miss/forget something, it's also saved me many times when someone contradicts or makes a mistake but falsely blame me. . Good luck, and thanks for sharing.

Great watching your progress and your patience with that yard is above and beyond. Can I suggest though that the music background is unnecessary at times of high tension and drama. When the boat is being pulled out of the shed for instance. It'sa bail-biting moment...but then comes on that "happy happy happy, we're having a great time" dance music, like a music video, which takes away from the moment.

Y'all are working so hard its amazing to see. This ship yard sounds like a bunch of douchebags are running it and they certainly aren't giving you any Southern hospitality. I hope your stay isn't too much longer in that yard.

Do the work out in the yard if you can. I would just get it floating ready. Tow it to another yard and fix the keels

Have you ever thought about using electric planer or a gelcoat pillar for your moving of your glass instead of grinding it
