We're Leaving Cabarete Dominican Republic. Off to Samana (Las Terrenas + Las Galeras)

In this video we're leaving Cabarete, Puerto Plata. We're packing up our things and our car rental and leaving our beautiful apartment.
We hit the road and drive from Cabarete to Las Terrenas. Here we take a break for lunch/breakfast at a cute little food truck in town called La Fragoneta.
After Las Terrenas we hit the road again heading further into the Samaná peninsula to meet up with our friends Eric and Allison from @Theendlessadventure (head over to their channel to watch their videos and subscribe)!
Once we've picked them up up we head to a very recommended place, Las Galeras, Samaná where we give a quick tour of our villa rental.

Nice seeing your travels! I travelled the DR a few yrs ago with some local friends and wish I'd have known how to document this way but I was in a healing transition phase in life and was supposed to be back by now :) - I miss the beaches, warm air, the food & a few select people ohhh so Much ! - I need to learn how to get on this online work to make $$ & travel again 🤗 I'm FrancoCanadienne🇨🇦 who left her soul in DR 💌

I love love your channel!! I got covid 4 weeks ago and I was in bed with high fever for over 2 weeks and during this time I discovered your channel. Your videos were SO therapeutic to me with that beautiful blue sky and turquois water! Even your voices were soothing! I am Dominican but left in my 20's, that was 25 years ago, so I never got to enjoy my beautiful country. I lived what I consider the worst part of the country, Santo Domingo...maybe one day I can move back but it'll be Samaná or Puerto Plata!! Thank you so much for your great quality DR videos!!😘

So when you find yourselves in Las Terrenas again, you absolutely must eat at Casa Azul! THE best pizza I’ve had outside of Italy, and they have this amazing pepper oil on the table. You won’t regret it, trust me.

I did that drive a few times Puerto Plata to Las Terrenas… it can get challenging when you are trying to beat the night fall 😂

I must say that is a very traditional Dominican villa. That covered seating area in the backyard is where people gather with friends and family. It's like an outdoor family room. What a lovely place! ❤️

Hello guys, another great and enjoyable video. I love the vibe of the villa is feels very homy. Samana is very unique, now is whale season, the humpback whales return home to mate and give birth, you can see them in bay of samana. The haitises National Park, is a rain forest home to many of the endemic birds, flora and fauna to the island. There are numerous caves with indigenous painting, dating back 5,000 years. Beaches: Fronton, Rincon, Madame, Cayo Levantado, la Galeras, el Valle, there are over 50 beaches in the peninsula of Samana, many of them in a pristine state and hardly visited. Enjoy. Cheers!

Hey! I'm not sure how to message you, so I'll just write here! I'm from Halifax and it was cool to first find out about during the last 2 years. I loved your NS adventures! And your DR videos make me hungry! ;) So, I"m just watching a short doc about the Faroe Islands and then looked at more photos of there and I'm blown away! You guys should go there! It looks so interesting and incredible! I've never seen landscapes like that.

What a beautiful villa you got!! When I was there I switched my phone's SIM car and got local calls with internet at any Claro, Orange stores. I paid 450.00 pesos for 15 GB. The Internet was very good quality, and I was able to do hot spot from my phone to my lap top. I was working for almost 2 weeks for that price. Check the Claro, Orange stores and ask for the Internet deals. You had me at watery mouth with the mangu, cheese and salami breakfast, yummy!

If you have time you might want to check out playa Cayo lavantado which is nearby and a small boat ride to the island there is a resort on it but there’s also a very nice public beach I spent one week at the resort a few years ago A lot of cruise ships stop at that beach

@@DelightfulTravellers La Vega, Santiago, Bonao, Puerto Plata, Cotuí, Salcedo, Montecristi, San Pedro de Macorís, Punta Cana, Azua, Cabral en Barahona, San Juan de La Maguana, Elías Piña y santo domingo capital. I think some of them are cancelled or postponed so ask someone that can inform you with all the details... But in my opinion the best are Santiago and la vega.

Hi there, hope all is well with you two! Jill and I were in the DR in late Jan early Feb and stayed at the Excellence El Carmen. Very nice spot, super friendly staff, nice accommodations. We took a few days and ventured up to Las Terrenas to visit with our friends Michele & Michael you just retired there. They purchased a very nice Condo in the Monserrat II complex, great spot just up from the beach, I believe they also follow you, no better people on the planet and great hosts! One other motivation to check out Las Terrenas (besides visiting Michele & Michael) was to scout out options for retirement in the DR. Las Terrenas rates high on our list and will continue to follow you to see what other great locations in the DR you come upon. The Villa in Las Galeras looks great, can you send me details in the event we would like to rent it? Also, if you want to meet Michele & Michael, let me know and I will pass on their details. As I said, great people and great host! Michael can cook up a storm! Cheers!
