hearing her cry while Dr. Rob rocked her was one of the most heartbreaking things I've seen in a while. My own dog heard her and came rushing up to see what was wrong.

I was absolutely gutted when Dr Rob was crying over Nemo. I wish he could have given her the forever home, but a home with a child is a great place for her.

@TaZeR- It was a puppy, it'd be highly fatal to it. Since the puppy being alive is more important than it's leg, he had to do it. He tried his best.

@TaZeR obviously you’ve NEVER been truly LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY from any animal especially one with such great challenge & he did everything he could to HELP Nemo & it’s people like yourself being JUDGMENTAL & HARSH on what he did to SAVE Nemo’s life💞🐾I surely HOPE you NEVER get any animal especially a RESCUE for many reasons!!!! IF YOU COULD’VE DONE A BETTER JOB THAN DR ROB THEN DO IT👿that’s what I thought 💭🤬😤‼️

@TaZeR So you know nothing about this kind of stuff, doesn't matter, maybe I can explain a little: Bones, blood vessels soft tissue that is not like working with wood or stuff you can't make it function like you wish. The doc made the right decision. "The whole procedure" you are imagining was never a thing, it was something the doc wished for that it might be possible, but even if she was stable, during the surgery it became clear that what he wanted to try would never have worked.. in cases like that you never know from the start, all you can do is try and have as many "plan b's" as you can com up with before even getting started and hope that one of the solutions you have in mind will work out. That's what he did and the only thing he could do.

Watching Dr Rob fall for Nemo was so special. I mean, I fell for Nemo too. I'm so relieved she pulled through and found a forever home. Though I really did think Dr Rob would adopt her!

I thought so, too. My heart absolutely broke for him when he said goodbye and had to walk away from her. You could see his heart breaking in the way he was walking. Such a bittersweet ending!

I thought the same, I think that’s why he kept saying she’s gonna be at a home where she’s the only dog. So maybe if he has other dogs, he knew she wouldn’t get all his attention and he knew she needed that type of love.

As much as he works, Nemo wouldn't have had enough time with him and so she would end up being home alone or living at the clinic.

As much as I'm sure he would have loved to have kept Nemo he knew his home was not the right place for her, he wanted her to be the only dog in the home and to get all the attention she deserved and proved his love for Nemo by letting her go to a home that was right for her

You can tell how he feels like a failure at the end of surgery but I truly believe he did what was best and what he should have done in the beginning

I think MY heart almost stopped during that episode. Knowing Nemo will grow up as a young boy's best friend left me with happy tears.

I was heartbroken when the puppy and then the doctor started crying. I hate to hear and/or see animals cry. 😢😢😢💔💔💔 Her bounce back was awesome. Such a spirited puppy. She's going to live an awesome life.

Dr, Rob you did an amazing job with her. Nemo could not have asked for a better doctor. There is no doubt that you poured your heart into this beautiful little girl and that she felt all of it. Thank you for being such a wonderful human being!

Dr. Rob saying “I’ll go to my grave wishing I could’ve saved that leg.” Is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve heard. You can tell how much he genuinely cares about his work and how much of a bond he has with Nemo. I hope he knows that we all see how hard he tried and that we all are amazed by the fact that he even took the chance of saving it before amputating. If you see this Dr, you’re amazing. Thank you for caring so much about a pup who some people would’ve given up on at first glance.

Nemo is a beautiful little tripawed. I know it's rough for such a young one, but there are so many tripawed dogs and cats out there, she's a little fighter and she'll do just fine.

This is how all doctors should be have the patience, Best interest at heart I think he made the absolute right decision especially because he did try, but it was not worth losing her life. God bless this doctor.

Dr Rob made me cry (happy tears of course since he saved this little one life) whn the puppy was crying. He says I'm right here. I'm right here. Made my heart melt. I love how much he loves all the animals he works on and cares for. Dr Rob you truly are an amazing vet and person.

I love Dr. Rob. He is so positive and isn’t afraid to take on a difficult issue. I like how he gives options rather than just saying “amputate”. Not only is he caring about the patients, but also their loved ones/caregivers. He is the kind of Doctor you hope never retires.

Wow, Dr Rob is something else. His love for & care of animals is so very touching. Here’s a man doing what he was born to do. I really believe he wanted to adopt her but thought Nemo needed more one-on-one time than he could give, due to his work hours. He loved her enough to let her go. Still, I would’ve loved to see this adorable pair together! 💕 PS seeing Dr Rob crying & feeling awful that he couldn’t save Nemo’s paw, says it all. What a beautiful human being!

I can see how emotional you were Rob. If you didn't feel anything then I would say you were in the wrong profession. Every vet I have seen on Bondi Vet have such love for animals. You wouldn't be human. I love animals my favorite is the elephant 🐘. I even went to S Africa 🌍 in 2020. I fell in love with all of the wildlife there. Sometimes I love animals more than humans. Thank you and the rest of the Bondi Vet team for all you do for the animals in your care.❤️

So true.ive had vets hand over the card machine/Bill with more care than they hand over my dog with.theres some great vets out there and ive been fortunate to meet a couple,but the disillusioned,the p***takers and money oriented ruin it by overshadowing the truly caring and empathetic souls that truly want to help animals.

I've always been absolutely crazy about dogs. Nemo is so adorable. I've fallen in love with her, just watching this clip. It breaks my heart that Nemo lost her leg, and I cried, but I know Dr Rob did what was best for her under the circumstances. Dr Rob, you have a heart of gold. Thank you for being so loving and gentle and kind to Nemo. Nemo absolutely loves you. I hope and pray that Nemo will be happy in her new forever home. I hope her new family will take wonderful care of her.

Oh my heart. I'm crying right now. I feel how Rob might have wanted to take her for himself but he gave her to someone who would love her just as much as he would and who really needed the love she could give them.

I have a flipper dog. It was congenital with missing bones from the paws to the elbow in both fromt legs. The vet who originally adopted her did a wonderful job of making her a functional paw out of the really bad paw. The other paw was also deformed, but seemed better if we left it. She is now almost 5 and gets along really well. Some days she is sore, but a little Metacam helps her out. Been a lovely family dog.

Nemo’s human boy attends the same school as my son, and Dr Zammitt is right, she is an absolutely beautiful girl. She’s the friendliest dog you’ll ever meet and it takes her mummy three times as long to pick up her son because she has to stop and say hello to absolutely everyone. I knew the outcome but the whole time I was rooting for Dr Zammitt to save her leg. I hope he still gets to see her. 💖

❤ It's very emotional for me. I am crying happy tears. Was feeling sorry for Nemo! She wouldn't want that from anyone. I just fell in love with her also. I think everyone watching this must of! I have a puppers. I would of taking Nemo in a heart beat ❤ she has a loving home. The Doc Rob fell in love with her! He is amazing! God bless all of you! ❤🎉

Cried watching this. My heart goes out to every organization and family who takes care of these angels when no one else would. Dr Rob.. Your wings are not visible to the eye but we all know they're there. Absolutely moved. So glad I went down the route to adopt my two unwanted dogs too. LOVE TO YOU ALL

I’ve seen quite a few deformities, but I’ve never seen a case like this. I can’t believe that her front foreleg was basically split in half halfway through development. Bones, muscles, claws, and everything.

Listening to her cry and having her vet standing there comforting her as much as he could, knowing he had tried everything to do everything he could for her to have the best outcome. Thats heartwarming stuff! Sad to watch but in that moment that little puppy had so much love it’s unbearable. Thats the vet i want looking after my animals!
