Congrats! I think waiting until they were married was probably the best for their relationship. They didn't have to worry about fans debating on if they broke up what would happen to smosh. They got to truly get to know each other on a different level and enjoy each other without fans getting into their business. They both look so happy.

My husband and I worked together while dating, engagement, and wedding planning. We kept it professional that no one knew even though we didn't hide it really. It was funny when co-workers got their wedding invite. 😂 We've been married now almost 16 years and I miss working with my husband everyday. It was fun and we make a great team. I love Amanda’s advice for yall. She’s right, don’t underestimate it. Always say sorry, and always communicate. The rule me and my husband have is to communicate everything, even if it’s hard and uncomfortable. Words can't properly describe how amazing the individuals at Smosh are. Every single person, from the entertaining joksters we see on these videos, to the individuals behind the scenes. The fact that NO ONE at Smosh and inside Courtney & Shayne's inner circle decided to leak this information shows how tight-knit of a family they are and how much they all genuinely care for one another. I love it. I've loved and watched Smosh for years, seen Shayne and Courtney grow into themselves as entertainers. I'm happy for them and glad they'll continue to just be without having to necessarily highlight it. Congratulations, again, Shayne and Courtney :)

So as a fan i was around for the early days of Smosh and dropped out around the sale to Defy so i only just got back into the Smosh circle, but honestly learning about the cast and catching up on who they were as people was lovely to see. Especially with how rocky the road has been before recent times, needless to say it's awesome to see Courtney and Shayne tie the knot especially while discussing previous relationship struggles so publicly. It’s truly sad how Courtney is scared of being pigeonholed into only being seen as “Shayne’s wife”, because I truly see her to be just as much of the backbone of Smosh as Shayne. Shayne is very funny, but he’s also on the more reserved side, and I think Courtney balances it out by being THE glue that holds the cast, new and old, together. It’s true that friendship is the heart of Smosh, and I think friendship includes the welcoming arms of a friend AND the laughs you have together. They’re amazing individuals on their own, but together they’re powerful. Best Friends to Lovers to Marriage? That’s basically Ianthony at their peak. It’s also amazing just how talented Courtney is on her own, and how generously she shares that talent with us. The liveshow trailers are always the best part of the liveshows to me.

My experience was that I saw a comment on a shorts that was a clip from TNTL. It was the clip where Shayne was pretending to be someone who has no clue how to talk to a girl. Someone in the comments said something like “this is even funnier when you realize they might maybe be married.” I thought it was the shippers starting rumors or being crazy again. Then the comments said there were pictures posted on social media. Then I also realized what day it was and that they posted on April 1st

aw i hope courtney and shayne know just how many "normal" fans there are. we are also rolling our eyes at the parasocial weirdos online. from deep diving into their relatives social medias to commenting on their posts only about the other spouse, we promise to continue telling them that they are not that guy. i'm so glad they can now share "we" stories and have a weight off their shoulders

i remember feeling so bad bc i always thought they would be cute together when i watched smosh but i just was like “if they’re together then they’re together if they’re not together then fine” but then fans started digging through their relatives social media and stuff and i felt so bad for them and felt so bad that their privacy was invaded to that extent

@@ischristinaok I think that behavior from fans years ago is a huge reason why they kept their relationship secret. And good on them! They got to go at a pace that suited both of them, they got to be in a relationship without the internet breathing on their neck about it (because yknow, majority of us moved away from shipping them years ago), and now they're just happy and they can be open. This is one of the best case scenarios

I’m honestly glad they went into the parasocial risks of outing their marriage. Courtney’s right, the fear is real and justified. While a lot of us are just happy they’re happy… there are too many people online who can’t respect healthy boundaries.

Literally it's so funny because I was like a shourtney anti 😭 like I was so sure that people only shipped them because they're both white and blonde and kinda judged anyone who did ship them up until the hard launch lmao.
