Why are you using a pre-ceramic to demonstrate the new 41mm.

This watch has a generational appeal- for those of use born at a certain time it was the watch we wanted as kids. Now we’re 40+ some of us are in a position to get that watch. You see the same thing happen with cars, motorbikes and even trainers/sneakers

It’s probably the best two tone watch in the market. Most watch brands including Rolex can’t pull off two tone like this one. It’s a bit flashy but complimentary colors of blue and yellow do work well.

Already the bluesy is going up in price as we speak and it will definitely be an Iconic Rolex watch that will appreciate in price. The Bluesy and Gold is a perfect harmony match. Its definitely one of the nicest and unique piece!!

Two tone Rolex are an interesting beast. The popularity has ebbed and flowed over the years but probably peaked back in the 80s. Over the last couple years I’ve had more requests and interests for 2Ts which was puzzlingly to me. I think that there is more general interest since Rolex started using Rose gold on these Rolesor models but also the Stainless are so hard to find at ADs and in the secondary market the prices are just plain crazy. That has had the effect of pushing people into consider Rolesor models as an alternative. As you mentioned the value proportion is much better than any Stainless Sport. Many 2Ts can be had at close to list price. For instance the Rose gold GMT Rootbeer is a model that can be had for a modest premium over list. The Rootbear GMT is an under valued Rolex Sport IMHO. I do think your onto something with this 2T Sub. Blue dial Subs have and always will be more sought after vs a Black dial variant. It’s the last of the 40mm Subs and also a discontinued model so it has some things going for it right out of the gate. Fashion desires and the whims of watch buyers is ever changing, but overall Rolesors for whatever reason seem to be making a comeback. Great analysis as always

The reference for the blue dial two-tone Submariner (ceramic) is 116613LB, not LN, which is the black dial and bezel version. Personally, I've never liked the Bluesy, and much prefer the black dial version hence I've managed to get one of the new 41mm two-tone Subs.

I purchased this watch 3 years ago just before the steel watch craze. It is the only Submariner I really enjoy wearing. By the way Lewis, I had the V.C. Overseas 4500 in blue shipped to me from the boutique in Miami. What a luxury spots watch! Could not make the trip this month but am coming at the end of January. The first couple of drinks are on me. Go Tech.

You nailed it and this watch 116613LB 40mm Sub bluesy is now selling between $19-25K USD now. Good luck finding one for $15K USD like you said a few months ago. Being a SUB and with the gorgous unique blue dial with 18K solid gold this watch will continue to rise in value. $20k USD used is still a good buy as this watch will rise in price even more so in 2021.

I was in the UK ,l went into 4 Rolex stores in Central London, 2 in Knights Bridge , the Rolex store in Harrods and the Rolex store in Selfridges. These are 4 out of 5 main Rolex stores in Central London, l could not bother with New Bond Street. None of the stores had a Submariner or a Daytona, this is extremely strange something is going on with Rolex. The same thing in 🇬🇧 and the 🇺🇸 , you only can get Submariner and Daytona on line from authorised dealers, extremely strange. Many people will want to try on the watch and get the bracelet sized in store.

I disagree...the 41mm TT bluesy has a slimmer lug and 70H power reserve. I think you can get the TT bluesy at the AD if you are willing to wait a bit.

I think the new 41 mm bluesy has a lighter, better blue hue sunburst dial than the older versions. Another thing to take into account is that steel watches will always be more desirable and have a bigger market than two tone.

Get the non ceramic bluesy. Save yourself 5k.

The watch is beautiful...but like you, I don't like two-tone watches...I especially don't like mixed-metal bracelets. Personally, I think one should either go full SS or full gold...but that is just me.
