Idea for Jimmy on Dyno Ramp Cheap Option - Quick Jack/Scissor Lift Add tabs or joints or pivot or something to ramps and middle of scissor jacks for max stability (could bolt to ground, or add anchor/pin) Maybe one Heavy Duty one slid inbetween the ramps that lifts them both? In either case, I'd have some kind of bar or rigid 3rd piece to the ramps to stabilize/level the ends.

Don't forget to do the trunion upgrade on those rocker arms. Did a cam swap on my roommates 2016 SS, pulled the rocker arms off and the needle bearings were about to ruin his day. Known issue on the engine. The CHE kit is great, my Caprice Wagon, roommate's SS, and friends Trans Am are all running them.

Went with my friend to get a fwd SR20 LSD trans from the shop next door to your old one / aka Derek's current shop but like 2 years ago when he first moved in. They had a few GTiR swaps and VVL things there at the time that he wanted but not enough cash flow to justify it. These guys were like the only place in the country that had that trans on the shelf ready to go and like 15 min away, or approx. 2 minutes from his sister's bar across the tracks. It's been a ripper since the car got on the road and those dudes were a huge help. He's got an NX2k GTiR swapped that took years to build, one of the few and first people in the country to do so afaik.

Hyped to see bhall running it v8 powered! That accompanied with the overfenders, better seats/suspension, can’t wait to see him ripping!

Water pump bolts are handy for low mileage/new engine cam handling but for a high mileage engine cam removal your best bet is to put the cam sprocket back on and use that instead. That would give you much more controlled leverage to get that crusty cam out.

For the Dyno put a bottle jack under each ramp so when you get the car on it you can just lift the ramp up then support the ramps on axle stands

So, for those that have never known what NEO or VVL stands for: Nissan Ecology Oriented Variable Valve Lift and Timing (commonly known as VVL & VVT) is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Nissan. VVL varies the duration, and lift of valves by using hydraulic pressure switch between two different sets of camshaft lobes. VVT varies the valve timing throughout the RPM range. Together they function similarly to Honda's VTEC system.

I’m a very simple Japanese engine in a Japanese car and a euro engine in a European car type of guy, but this makes sense. I’m pretty pumped to see this swap done. Keep the amazing content rolling!!

Connect the front of the ramps with a thick pole and jack it up!, you already pretty much are doing that already or use quick jacks to raise the ramps.

SR20VET are beasty AF. Drivers like Fujino or Gocha are still using them for some of their competition cars against 1&2Js and VR38s.

Idea💡 make a bridge between the ramps under the front of the car (a sturdy one) and use a jack to lift it up and some jack stands to prop the whole show up.

you can place the dyno outside the grage gate. right behind where it is now then you do not need to make a hole for it in the floor but maybe make a platform just outside to stand on. and then you can get it level with the floor. but is just a quick thought from me.

LS is always the right answer to an engine swap. Euro,Japanese or American Car they just work. T56/TR6060 behind it and it's great. From the old 4.8/5.3 truck motors to LS3/LS7 are all great.

Yo Jimmy, How about a Quickjack (or something like it) underneath the ramps. THAT way if it's needed to level a car out, you just hook them up to an air hose, and boom! Ramps and car's front go up. Body kits and exhausts live to see another day! Just a thought! Plus I'm pretty sure they are 1/4 to 1/2 the price of a 4 post lift. Which Might be worth it. Like I said, just a thought! Y'all keep doing what Y'all do! We keep loving it! And B, good luck with that build!

Love the LS swap in Brians E46, I would love to LS swap my E36 driftcar, it's still has the 2 litre M52 in it with about 185K miles on it, but it still runs and drifts.

Mount some jacks under the ramps so you can jack the front end up.

350z's, e36's and e46's are the best cars to get ls swapped. Also I hope yall planned a really good oiling system, especially the oilpan because without the oiling system dialed in, Ls usually don't last more than like two drift events.

If you buy the cam bearing tool, cam bearings aren't bad to do. The tool is also pretty cheap.
