It’s extremely frustrating to move from where you feel at home due to the irresponsibility of others. Nonetheless, it’s possibly the wise thing to do. Be sure to thoroughly investigate the new areas dog-wise before moving! Great videos!

I'm actually glad you posted about the dog issue as this has been my experience in the 2 short weeks I have been here. I've had rescue dogs all my life (I'm a grandmum) with the exception of my golden retriever who lived to be 18.5 yrs before developing renal failure. My current dog is a 12 yr old Chihuahua that I have had for 9 yrs. I make my own dog food and this has been so beneficial to my dog's specific needs. I am also a Reiki practitioner who specializes in Women/Children/Pets. I was in Condesa the other day and saw one of the many dog walkers with a pack of eight dogs he was walking. All these big dogs and some were panting for water (this was midday in the heat) and in the very back was a little Chi wearing a sweater, panting and struggling to keep up. The walker never turned to check on him basically dragging him along. We currently are in the Mixcoac area near Parque Hundido and Parque Gomez Farias. I absolutely love Hundido as does my dog. I often see dogs off-leash running frantically looking for their owners who have jogged, biked, or walked off talking on the phone and not looked to see if the dog was following. Yesterday in the enclosed dog section a little Frenchie was chasing and nipping at the big dogs who ran trying to get away from him. One day this little dog will meet a dog who will go after him and hurt him. We were here two days and walking down a very narrow street my little Chi was on the leash close to me and we had to step aside to let a car pass. A woman was inside a doorway to a shop buying fruit and her dog was outside on an extended leash she was holding and not even watching. This dog (Shiba Inu)attacked my Chi in a split second and punctured her in 3 places. The woman never even intervened. Let's just say it's a good thing my Spanish isn't up to par. I carried my dog home and administered first aid care, treated the wounds, and monitored her progress with a Vet just around the corner that I had met in case I needed her. As someone mentioned many are not aware of the constant monitoring and parenting we must give our pets. Dogs are quick and can certainly outrun us if they want to go after another animal. Winnie will love Queretaro, less constant stimulation. I am in CDMX now but am checking out other areas more south of the city such as Coyocan, San Angel, and then onto Queretaro and San Miguel de Allende to see where my next home will be, hopefully with more yard space. Have a wonderful weekend Serg, Tana & Winnie 🦴🦴🦴

This sounds very exciting about the move! Too bad MX City doesn’t have leash laws. Having a special park where dogs can be off leash is useful, but otherwise off leash dogs everywhere is a risk to everyone.

I think the problem is that there are some dog owners who shouldt have dogs. That being said is pretty obvious that those dogs arent around other dogs and the take them out ocasionally.

We have an adopted Lab/Shepherd mix. He is cool as a cucumber, yet other dogs are always barking at him and acting aggressive. We just taught him to ignore it. In turn, we stay relaxed. Tana, if your anxiety will not allow you to keep calm then you should work on that, as Whinny will pick up on your emotions and may act on them. In the end, tho, being surrounded by the problem, you should not feel negative about wanting to move. Perhaps taking Whinny on walks in potential areas would be good. Where are Serg’s parents from?

So sorry you have to go through the problem of off leash dogs in the colonia that you live in. This problem also exist in the US even though there’s plenty of signs that people shouldn’t off leash unless you’re in a specific area. It’s bad enough that irresponsible dog owners don’t pick up after them but for these dogs to attack poor Winnie is flat out dangerous 😠😡 Take care of yourselves and Winnie 🐕✌️

i know ): i think that people really just don't see the harm in having them off leash, so if we can share the dangers of it and increase awareness it will be helpful 👍

I understand how you feel my dog and I were attacked out of the blue by an off-leash dog last year and it terrifies me still when we're walking. But I don't think you should move from your beautiful area, off leash dogs are everywhere because irresponsible people are everywhere.

Black pots outside can absorb a lot of heat from the sun even though it doesn’t feel hot to you. Best of luck with Winnie. I feel fortunate to not have that stress living in a quiet area but I did have that same thing happen to our girl at a dog park when she was around 5 months old. Unfortunately she’s been timid and weary ever since. I almost wonder if they actually release a scent of fear . I know they pick up on our fear and tension which can exacerbate the situation especially on leash.

I really loved your video. I would love to see more cooking since you’re vegan like me. Those beans looked yummy. The shirt you made was super cute. So many talents! I’m sorry to hear about your dog issue. You never know if your doggy will be attacked when you take him out. That would be enough to create high anxiety for me too. I hope you can find someway to keep him safe. He’s so sweet! I’m looking forward to your two videos a week. They are very entertaining and informative.

Off leash dogs are a thing every where in the world. Some people are just idiots. Our dog -lab mix-was attacked on a beach in Florida that allows dogs on leashes. Two big Dobermans chased her and she was smart enough to run into the water. I went in after them to save my dog, and ended up ruining my cell phone. Luckily she didn’t get bit. I said some choice, not so nice words to the owners.

A couple things maybe you two can clear up for me; 1) Any issues with showering? I assume hot water limits any tap water risk. And 2) Is it true you can't flush toilet paper? And if so, how does all *that* get handled? lol - Thanks you two for continuously great content :)
@sergtana
@sergtana 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! No issues whatsoever showering. It's not that the water's dirty. We still use it to brush teeth and to shower. And you can usually flush toilet paper. We've only ever seen signs not to in older parts of very small towns. In that case, there's a waste bin beside the toilet.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to Winnie :( Mexico City has a local ordinance which prohibits dogs from being unleashed in public places, so if you see one, you're well within your rights to call the police, the owner will face a fine, and the dog will have to go to the police station (no kidding)

dogs are greatly affected by how their owners feel and behave. if the owner gives off anxious energy, so will your dog, and other dogs will pick up on it and respond to it.

You guys are already in a safe area. Dont move, other areas simply have stray dogs. Dogs no one will even take responsibility of. At this point I would get rid of the dog 🤕. You guys dont need this type of stress.
