I was standing in line for coffee 1 morning at Ballys, Atlantic City. I turned around and there stood George Carlin, directly behind me, alone waiting in line like the rest of us. I smiled and simply said, "Good morning Mr Carlin. Thank you for the fantastic show last night over at Caesars and thank you so very much for all the joy and entertainment you have given me throughout the years. Congratulations on all your success sir" He smiled back and said, "Good morning to you. Please call me George. I'm glad you enjoyed the show and I'm thrilled that you have been along for the ride with me. Thank you." George Carlin- The only celebrity or famous person that I have ever actually shed a tear over, when hearing of his death. "Thank you George."

Complaints and Grievances is some of his best work. ... (outside of "what am I doing in New Jersey?" And "Final Thoughts") ... George Carlin is proof of an absolute truth:: "GOD has an incredible sense of humor" ... or "God is Dead" ... one of those things has to be true ... because a "Sensitive God" would have struck George down when he defended "Seven Dirty Words"

Carlin spoke the same about the little things as he did about the bigger things. It's all perfect. From pets farting to the overt evil of those in power. Truth. There is a overarching beauty in that. It resonates. A war here, a cat knocking over a vase there and blaming it on a dog: Both are equal in terms of our humanity and view on the world. 🙃

Carlin is the language of the disenfranchised, of the common man, of the ones that don't have a powerful name nor friends nor connections, of the middle of the pack, of us; he's the average person taking a hard look back at life and reporting on the pitfalls you encounter along the way. He's like a Grandpa looking out for the younger generations, completely unapologetic, raw, hilarious! Gotta love George ❤️

This was recorded around 1990. He had no idea how bad it would get. What is important to remember is ALL of those phrases that used to be and are no more wear on you. At 53, I now refuse to use the alternative softer language. It's terribly inefficient and frustrating.

George Carlin is simply the King! He is like a philosopher and social critic - delivering his observations in a satirical and sarcastic way, wholly without any 'filter'...Almost like a sort of 'secular preacher' - to the point that a resounding 'Halelujah' wouldn't seem to be out of place! ;-) Sure - it is great comedy/stand-up, but it's more than that - it is aimed at getting people to seriously think about all the things in life we all just take for granted. Simply love him! (Which you seem to do as well, right?) Cheers from Sweden! )

If you can recognize the underling purpose of a statement, why was it worded this way, what are the "really" trying to say (get you to believe), then you can start to think for yourself. Never just believe any of that as fact. I had a marketing class in college where the professor told a story about one company where they sent out people to stores to break up cookies in a competitors packages and then advertised about how their own cookies were "whole" cookies and not just pieces. He seemed to think this was a genius idea. I found it disgusting. I came to the conclusion that any company (especially run by a board and stock holder) have absolutely no morals as long as it makes more money. And language is probably their biggest weapons. News companies are (now mostly) in it for the Money, like the Murdocks and Sinclairs, and others (sorry, other names just not coming to mind at the moment). There are some good sources for information, but you have to really, REALLY, check all facts for yourself before believing most of what you hear. Check, double check, and then triple check the original sources they seem to be quoting from. If you can find any time left after that, do some deeper digging.
