I live in Kampot so I do understand where you are coming from. But come on, the guys in the daytime were just sitting there having their lunch. There are a lot of expats in Kampot from all walks of life, age & gender. Not all the old guys are pedophile sexpats. I appreciate your video, but to come out and say something so damaging about a town without talking to anyone living there is very disingenuous. Secondly, if you are traveling on a budget where you can only afford $ 8-night rooms, then, of course, you are going to think it's only cheap quality food & drink in town. It's a shame you didn't expand you views instead of just paint the whole town with your predetermined agenda. You're saying you wouldn't recommend things, like the national park etc. but YOU didn't even go. How can you say it's not worth going?

There's a lot of old guys there because it's easy to obtain a retirement visa.. There's no need to deposit a large amount in the bank. Some of the countries require you to have thousands of dollars in an account.

Thank you for covering the topic of the sex trade & exploitation of women & children. I love Cambodia (one of my fave countries) but….you can’t deny what you see. I saw old western guys with very young teen girls looking very uncomfortable - clearly being exploited. It’s a sad truth, but nobody should ever be put off from visiting such a beautiful and fascinating country otherwise 😊

I lived in Kampot from 2005 through 2019. This video is quite frankly insulting. You did zero research, didn’t leave the immediate area and as such had zero knowledge or understanding of even that much. But worst of all? Not only missed out on everything that makes this provenance absolutely amazing, but based your entire impression off one day in one tiny part whilst also exploring it on the most cheap as possible budget. Lame!

It all is on the end of the eye that looks, right. I think after seeing this that you should seek other grass aisles, this is under low targets. I do not want to expose myself to more of their negative approaches, in a country I have come to know very well and that has so much positive to offer. Period!

Too bad that you two are so disgusted by we elderly men. IF....you're lucky, you may reach the age of 73 like me. Maybe you won't feel that you should be compelled to give up living. Trying to link normal sexual activity and pedophilia is disingenuous and dishonest. Too bad that we all can't be young and brilliant like the hosts of this video. I watched your video before travelling to Kampot. As someone who has worked in and visited the city for 10 years, it was a disappointing perspective of a delightful place. The influx of hostess bars has denigrated it a bit but the essence of the city remains. I was recently in Kampot for three months working as a pro bono education consultant with a Khmer NGO as I have done for a decade. Each night, I had dinner in a different restaurant. If you had walked by me you would have dismissed me as an old white male sitting in a restaurant alone who may later procure a young Khmer girl for sex. If you had bothered to strike up a conversation with a couple of the guys, you may have learned something. It's too easy to judge dispassionately. Dig a little deeper and you may discover many things. As other have said the old white guy brigade consist of business people, retirees, tourists etc. I am not naive enough to think everything is there for the right reasons but you would be surprised how many love Kampot and Cambodia as their home. Why not live escape to explore instead of passing subjective judgements.

What country are you guys from? Do they not have retirement? Those are retired expats going about their daily lives. Not every old man is a sexpat lol. Elderly folks are allowed to travel, retire, and be happy.

Great video. I spent the month of October in Cambodia mainly Kampot. Cambodians are the nicest people on the planet. Great vibe. I love Cambodia.. I agree about the western men drink drinking in the bars, many are alcoholics. Very Sad especially since they serve happy pizza in Cambodia. lol

If you are still in Cambodia in a months time are going to have a fite.50 is definitely not old and neither is 60 which I am. "Old" are clearly your parents, particularly your Daddies coz they must have been boring old codgers to have led to such a jaundiced opinion of men maturing like fine red wine. Anyway I enjoyed the look around Kampot. Very different to Cape Town and South Africa.
