This happened to my son although he was 20yrs and working with metal. The rust thing made complete sense to me. He healed super quickly! These things are always so tramatic to our little ones. I have one son who had 6 surgeries in the first 2-3 yrs of his life. May the Lord bring total healing & restoration to your eye Lexie in the name of Jesus!

So happy Lexi is feeling better! It is so hard to watch your child go through these things. When my younger daughter was 7 she broke her elbow after an incident at her friends house. Luckily we lived in Landstuhl where the hospital is in Germany for American soldiers, dependents, government civilians and contractors. It took three tries to get the IV in and I just silently had tears running down my face and she was trying to comfort me. After her surgery she was the only patient in the pediatric ward so when she was hungry she wanted pizza from our favorite Italian restaurant. The owner was so kind, he delivered pizza for her and all the nurses and technicians on the ward at no cost. We lived a block from them so they knew us very well. All of our experiences there were just so positive. When we moved back to the states from 14 years of service we came to Orlando where they do have a great selection of hospitals for children, sports, elder care, etc. 10 years ago once all our kids were grown we moved out to Satellite Beach where I continued to support our military. We love it here in Florida but I admit I do miss Europe.

It is so hard to see our "babies" hurting. Anesthesia is next level. They look so tiny and defenseless. I found watching my kids come out of the anesthesia traumatizing! They are so clueless as to what has happened, and like Lexi said, they don't know who you are! I am praying for a complete healing of her eye, and Alyssa, I am praying for your momma heart. It, too, will heal. God is so good!!

In my experience the ER takes you back quickly for eye issues and testicle problems. Both require quick action to save. Glad Lexi's better. It is traumatic for the moms, I do agree.

My husband’s aunt and uncle, both in their 70s, agree with you about Florida medical facilities. They spend winters in Florida, and will always wait until winter if they can for medical procedures so they can get them done in Florida. Glad Lexi is okay!

I can totally relate having an identical experience several years ago. Pulling up carpet a tiny piece of a staple got in my eye & had to be surgically removed. Both the doctor & procedure was amazing. But I totally felt for adorable Lexi.
