As if just this was not enough for our luck, upon our arrival we were upgraded into the Taj Mahal Palace, which is the original heritage wing of the hotel, and a sixth-floor suite, which came with some additional perks, such as all-day access to the Palace Lounge, on top of the stunning and spacious suite, huge and delicious breakfast buffet and Taj's trademark first-rate service and hospitality. We would've never really needed to step out of the hotel if we didn't want to. Join us for a tour of our typical day enjoying all the luxury and beauty inside the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai.

We Indians are proud of Taj Mahal Hotel and the Tata's who have constantly been thriving to make it a spectacular and heavenly looking and feeling place for all the people. But we also cannot forget 26/11 where the same place was destroyed and vandalized and where we could hear bullets firing and bombs exploding inside the hotel. Taj has come a long way since then. Long live India and Long live the Tatas

We actually were at the Taj hotel on 26/11. The memorial day function was very touching. Especially considering Vinod was in colaba at the time of the actual attacks.

Wow Johanna, your video brought back such wonderful memories!! The walls of the Taj are still a dusty pink... I recall my 2nd visit to India. My two friends & I getting engulfed in a throng of people right outside the Taj. We had been walking the Gateway when we saw the commotion and went to check it out. Suddenly, we see a young man in a horse, all decked out, being wildly acclaimed by the crowd. My friends were commenting on the "prince" arriving, when a kind gentleman informed us the "prince" was the groom marrying his niece. She was the daughter of his brother, a well known, and very well established, mercantile big wig in Bombay!😱 We were absolutely shocked, when we three, hot, sweaty, dazed and looking like hippies, get invited to the ceremony at the TAJ for the next 4 days! 😱😮😳🥰 We couldn't believe it. The food served was amazing, the bride was decked out in an incredibly emerald colored sari, which reflectied her huge, beautiful emerald green eyes. She was the most stunning lady I had ever seen, and the colors of all the clothes, decorations, arrangements... Ohhh what a previledge this was . 🥰 These are the amazing experiences India can provide to many, ourselves included, and we never forgot our good fortune. Later, on another brief visit where we had a long layover in Bombay, my then husband and I went to the Taj for dinner, and that was so, so special. Annika was a handful, bless her, she is a delightful character, but poor rose, I guess the opulence of the TAJ is a bit overwhelming for her! 😂 Great video, Happy Anniversary to you and Vinod, and may you have many more! ❤ Frm 🇵🇹🙏😍🌹

Oh wow that must’ve been quite the experience! It’s difficult to top the grandness of especially the fanciest indian weddings. I was very overwhelmed even with the more middle class weddings i’ve seen 😅 How nice it is to hear that you have been able to get to experience the Taj too in this way! ❤️

Yes I experienced your same excitement the first time we stepped foot into the Taj Palace. Then walking into our room took my breath away. There’s nothing like The Taj Palace Hotel. We will definitely go again!!!

Taj hotel is a living example as Most Beautiful Luxurious Mansion in my heart. Being a Kannada Mumbaikar, I went to Churchgate so much, but never to Taj hotel and Gateway of India till now💔. Fairytale, movie set, daydream... Just UNREAL! Really makes one feel like a princess in a castle - which of course for Annika is anyways a very accurate description :') You would've definitely enjoyed all the classical instruments like flute, cello etc being played there!

Oh the artwork really deserves attention, not just in the art gallery! They have lots of M. F. Husain’s paintings on display for example. I love paying attention to the art, because I’m trying to learn more about the Indian art history and find inspiration on prints of famous artists to buy to our own home 😊 Happy you enjoyed the video and get to visit again!

Great Eastern Hotel in Kolkata is the oldest modern hotel in Asia which is still operational. It was built in 1840. It's a 5 start hotel.

My father stayed for 2 days for conference in this hotel before 26/11 occurred.thanks to God that my father due to some urgent left at 25th and you guys are safe.(there were random firing in stations ,hospitals by two pakistanis)

Annika is getting active more and more. Setting boundaries and enforcing them becomes important. But I like her antics. She is new to these sounds and people from a very quiet payyanut. BTW wonderful tour of Taj. I stayed there in 1998 and it's completely redone now after the attacks.

We only try to set her boundaries, when it’s really necessary like for example not to break things or possibly hurt herself or anyone. But otherwise we enjoy watching her uninhibited silliness and cuteness. 🥰 There’s a video about this later, but we actually were at the Taj on 26/11 and the memorial day of the attacks was very touching.

I loved what you said about hoping never to take these experiences for granted. We so easily tend to forget the initial joy something brought us, once it becomes routine. Its lovely to see the Taj standing proud and majestic and symbolic of so much history and resilience❤️ Thanks for the lovely tour and narration. Annika has hit the terrible twos😄but I'm sure the boundless cuteness and adorable expressions help bear with all of it😍

I still remember back in 2016 my experience of traveling to Finland...and I was shocked that Finland too has such a luxurious hotels...It was nice experience

It's near to Bombay University old campus where I completed my post graduation. Everyday I visit surrounding area of Taj hotel, Colaba market, Janhageer Art Gallary, Kala Ghoda, Fort Area. It's my college days there. Lots of foreigners loitering hear and there in that area. My that about 47 year old memories suddenly alive. When I was journalist I visited and covered a press conference in that hotel. Everyday I visit that surrounding area till 1998, which was the part of my life. Now Anika has grown up. Terrorist from Pakistan attacked this beautiful hotel. A unique hotel from Tata.
