We stayed the night at a remote monastery in the mountains of Bhutan and got to spend time talking to the head monk about why he lives there with 80 children. This awesome experience was organized by Breathe Bhutan, & we highly recommend them! www.breathebhu...
We had the opportunity to spend the night at a monastery in the middle of the Himalayan Mountains of Bhutan with no other tourist in site. The head monk there shared his emotional story with us about why he chose to live in such a remote place with over 80 monk children.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Kara and Nate, I have to be completely honest. My favorite thing isn't the amazing places you all see, or the multitude of nice people you meet with, or even the delicious foods you show us. Phajoding is the closest monastery to the capital that gives you an experience that ll make you feel you're so far away up in the mountains. For years I've looked up at the monastery from the comfort of my warm home in the capital not realizing the stories of the monks and lamas who worked tirelessly to make a life for the children there. Thank you Kara and Nate for this❤🇧🇹

This vlog today really touched my heart. The Head Monk is to be commended for devoting his life to the children in his care. Is there any way to contribute to this monastery or is that not possible? Kara, I can certainly relate to your becoming emotional observing the goodness of some people who willingly sacrifice so much to benefit others in need. What an uplifting and positive program. Thank you so much for giving me this touching experience to stop and ponder on the goodness of people and how they impact all of us to be a little kinder to those in need. Throughout your journey you have shown people all over the world improving the lives of others around them in different ways. This uplifting and positive theme runs throughout your vlogs. Thanks for brightening our lives in so many ways!

@@lorenacharlotte8383 Why are you commenting so much negativity on this video? I have been following Kara and Nate for years and they are so loved by their viewers because of their authenticity, humility, and ability to take any situation and find the beauty and humor in it. Of course they have practiced making high-quality videos that they profit off of as well as other things, how else would they be able to afford full time travel? I encourage you to visit their website to see their blog and income reports. They are very transparent about how they earn an income. In fact, they talk a lot about how they do not wish to rely on KZfaq for money because it is so unstable. They work so hard to be able to live their dream and it inspires so many.

Danielle Starmer : That is the point. Agree with you as far as they good making of the videos but disagree with all the rest of your saying. I was subscribed to their channel till yesterday. They never acknowledge me as a subscriber. In fact they never gave a dam. The only time I’ve heard a kind of feedback was just yesterday when I announced my leaving and the feedback was a hand not sure if saying goodbye or something else. Any of my comments ever had any feedback. So my conclusion is that this channel is like seeing a nice commercial traveling advertising but nothing else as it’s all part of the acting, presenting a nice video. So this kind of channels are like a whole ads on video that people are willing to watch as the videos are generally well made and pleasant.

I have said it before and I will say it again (as have others here), I LOVE the respect, love, and concern you show for others around the world. Kara brought tears to my eyes with her obvious care for the kids at the monastery.

I often think of this "analogy" when I'm extremely happy and at ease: "Take the moment in your life that made you the happiest above all else, take that feeling and multiply it with the size of the universe. That's the amount of joy that I am experiencing atm" Now, often times your videos also make me feel like that🌈❤

Knowing the background of where they have been living and the environments they have been put through. To give them a better life would you adopt?
