Yeah and some other condiments. Even tho we use Mayo on the cake, it doesn't give any flavour, only softer texture.

My step father's mother's Chocolate cake is the best i have ever had and will ever have . dark. Rich . full of flavor . and so moist . almost wet looking . but completely cooked . no need for icing or milk ❤ . RIP Winnie ❤

I’m sure it’s delicious! I like kinda more fun flavors than just plain chocolate or vanilla. Maybe a fun coffee flavor or something to spice it up. But the other half of me wants to eat the cut up pieces of chocolate while you make this cake bc all those special ingredients taste so much better before u cook them lol. And I’ll lick the cake batter bowl clean 😭

Guinness chocolate cake with cream cheese icing is an old cake recipe, usually ends up black too. Skip the mayo 😅 make it the traditional way and it's absolutely delicious

this is a chocolate cake, not a Guinness chocolate cake, also thats not because of the mayo that the cake ends up black lol, Guinness chocolate cake is made with a few different Ingredients than a regular chocolate cake, and this is a regular chocolate cake, and i have made many cakes with mayo and it ends up delicious (Also aren't chocolate cakes already are dark), but do whatever you want, just saying

I honestly think everyone who says to put coffee in chocolate cake love coffee. My sister tried making one and her bf hated the cake cuz it tasted like coffee. I also absolutely despise coffee so id never even try it

No, it's not. I have a chocolate cake recipe with mayo, espresso, cocoa, and dark chocolate chunks. It's been in my family for at least 4 generations.

@@athrocamtinian The amount is so small, it won't really affect the flavor, but it might give the baking powder a little extra kick to increase the fluffiness.

Mayo has eggs and oil, it fits in quite well in cake. And the chocolate will cover the taste.
