This should be done with more notoriously washable colors like purples and pinks or even greens! Blue likes to stay in hair for a really long time even when its extremely faded

I just dyed my hair blue as an attempt to overcome my social anxiety, to push myself out of my comfort zone. I gotta say, I have it for almost a week now, and I have gotten a whole new attitude. I still am uncomfortable being the center of attention, and walking alone etc etc, but I start to notice I begin to care less if strangers look at me weirdly because of my hair. Love it!

I used manic panic for a long time but it always washed out quickly and it didn't look very good. Now I use Arctic Fox and the colour is always beautiful and lasts for more washes (not to mention it smells so good).

But the real questions are: What kind of shampoo did she use? Was it color safe? Was it drugstore brand?

The Manic Panic was lighter than the other brand, so it was hard to tell.

Coming from someone who has had neon green hair for nearly 7 years; its very easy to keep the color vibrant. Keep a container in your shower thats roughly 1 part dye and 3 parts conditioner :) just use that instead of normal conditioner and your color won't fade

I recommend special effects for anyone looking for a good hair dye brand. I had a vibrant pink color in for 6 months. It probably would have looked good longer but I chopped the color off. But keep in mind that everyone's hair is different so the color may not stay in as long for you and depending on if you bleach your hair first. (I bleached my hair first)

i didn't know about punky color , so already did mine with manic panic hot hot pink :p. I'm relieved to see that it didn't fade out splotchy or patchy or anything , since the L'Oreal Paris teal one i tried before did horribly.

Overtone conditioner is my go to for refreshing my color. It also acts as a straight up dye if you get the weekly deep treatment.

Manic panic and punky colour are good, but you should have tried arctic fox. It lasts for a really long time and smells really good!

I'm a faithful user of Punky Colour. It conditions while you dye, so that's a plus! My hair, which is white blonde underneath the colored dye, holds on to the color well. I dyed my hair this shade of blue about a month ago, and it still looks like I just dyed it, and I scrub and wash my hair every other day. It's the "cheap crap you sell to teenagers," but for my hair type (fine and thin), it works really well. I know other users of Punky Colour with thick, long hair, and the dye stays really well on theirs as well.

I used to use Adore hair dye in Indigo, it lasted for about a month. It works better when applied to recently bleached hair.

Another brand that lasts really long is Special Effects. The colors are extremely potent and a little goes a long way. I tried them once and it was extremely hard to remove the color, because the longevity is incredible!

I would honestly be fine with any of those because I love the color it faded to.

I had punky colour in my hair for monthssssssss. I eventually just got a hair cut to get rid of the colour! AMAZING.

I'm glad they measured by wash and not by week cause depending on your personal routine the amount of time hair color lasts can vary a lot. I've had my hair dyed with punky color turquoise for 3 months with minimal fading (it's slightly green in a couple of strands but still very vibrant). However, I wash my hair exclusively in cold water with sulfate-free shampoo (Sparks) 1-2 times a week and only use a bit of heat on my bangs every once in a while. Overall I've found manic panic lasts way less than punky. It's all about personal preference though, if you want to change colors often go for manic panic and arctic fox, if you want to keep it for a long time use punky, sfx or (if they're available/affordable to you) higher end brands like pravana.

i dye my hair with crazy colour and the last time i did it was at new years and it's still pretty vivid 10/10 would recommend, will probably use this dye forever

Ion is still my favorite. Manic panic faded in like 3 days before I even had the chance to wash washed it.

Yall should try Ion brilliance, absolutely amazing, lasts forever if you get a cool color (warms are alright) and smells great

I've got midnight blue from manic panic and washed it 10-12 times now and it doesn't wash out easily. It depends on your hair and which shampoo you use.

Arctic fox is my all time favorite!!! Ive tried all sorts of brands and I'm honestly never switching

Try the brand "special fx" it lasted MONTHS for me

If you want staying power, use ion. It's more difficult to work with (I recommend thinning with conditioner), but the color lasts so long.

Splat is the best at home hair dye I have ever used. You can leave t in for hours before rinsing and it barely fades at all.

I have red manic panic semi-permanent mixed with a little bit of Auburn permanent hair dye and I have dyed my hair 2x and now I have my normal hair back but you can still see red in my hair! I get told constantly...last time I dyed it was September.

Sparks from amazon is great! My purple looks amazing even after 6 weeks.

Punky all the way. It is a better blue. I did the lagoon blue and loved it. Although my hair faded faster, but everyone's hair is different, we will all have different results.

My favorite hair dye to use is Splat! I died my hair without using bleach in July of last year and colour still look really good. Though on different types of hair the time may differ because my friends only lasted like 2 months.

In my experience good dye young is great in bleached hair, it lasts a good 3 months or so (I wash my hair very frequently so it could last longer with one to two washes a week) with a shampoo designed for colored hair. Good dye young is also great because its cruelty-free, vegan and it smells great

I mean.. I take a lot of things into consideration every time i dye my hair. Like: Is is permanent?, what is the reputation on the brand?, will it destroy my hair? I have been dying my hair for a little over 3 years now and my hair is going strong. I never beach it (because the only colors i go for are firetruck red) and deep condition it right after dying and over the next couple months it is in my hair. I have been using the same brand since i started dying and have never been let down. I use Age Beautiful in the color 5RR medium intense red and I love it. I am only 16 so its not like ive been to beauty school or anything but i seriously recomend this for anyone that wants some good hair colors without the risk of damaging your hair

Believe it or not, I used splat to dye my hair teal once and it stayed vibrant for several months

Currently using adore. It's only 5.99 a bottle and the vibrancy didn't change much in the month I've had green hair

I used Splat's Midnight Amethyst and it worked, 4 weeks and still hasn't faded! (By the way, it says to leave it in for 30m - 1hr, leave it in for 2hrs - 3hrs!)

I use manic panic cuz i love changing hair colors fast and i love pastel colors so i dont mind if it fades quick

I used to use manic panic but it would bleed on my clothes and pillows even after a week worth of washes. I switched to punky colours and it has never bled on any of my things!!!!!!

I will say blues one of the hardest dyes to make stay. Reds last amazingly and manic panic vampire red even sorta shows up over relatively dark brown hair giving a cool red shine

I use Arctic Fox and it is amazing. I leave it on for 2 hours and this helps it last longer. I get weeks out of it before I need to re-apply. It dilutes well with conditioner as well if you want a pastel look :)

Should've reviewed Good Dye Young. I'm having to redye my entire head to get it out after going through 5 different color remover processes at the salon.

My favorite hair dye of all time is good dye young 100% and trust me I have used many colors.

Yooooo I SWEAR by Jermone Russell Punk Colour! It's the only dye I ever trusted as a teenager lol The color selection was awesome, and it lasted so many washes! I always recommend it to people who wanna dye their hair fun colors.

i used to use manic panic but i found it too expensive for how long it lasted. i saw online about the chromasilk vibrants which you can mostly only buy online, but they're what they use at the salon, they last longer and the colors are deeper. in fact, they're so deep that i always have to dilute it with conditioner to get a lighter color (and it still lasts longer than manic panic). so for anyone who's tired of manic panic give those a try

One of the best at-home hair dyes I've ever used was Ion. We dyed my hair fuchsia, which runs out fast, and it didn't fade for around a month after I got it that color.

We went to the states and i bought the splat hair dye that was purple. And idk if it was my shampoo or it was the dye, but, my hair turned pink in like 4 washes! The pink lasted long though, and the kit has a bleach. (Idk for anyone bothering to read this comment, hi!)

I'm kinda limited to hairdyes though since I live in Scandinavia. We don't have as many here as in USA. Such as arctic fox which is getting really big. So I'm limited to manic panic and even that is difficult to order here

I used to use manic panic, but it didn't lasst that long. Even without 23 washes. I now use an argain oil product, and not only is it healthy for the hair, but it lasts 10 times longer. I still have vibrant colorful hair after 3 months. (Of course there is fade) But i love this product and swear by it.

Pravana lasts longest and you can add it to your conditioner to refresh the color. Those two brands you demonstrated are the cheap crap you sell to teenagers.

it depends on how you treat your hair from what I've heard. Dyes last longer with cold showers, less frequent washing and not going in salty water (like the sea) would be interesting to know if she washed her hair with hot water and how frequently she was washing it. Sure they claim to last so many washes but how long is that in days (on average). Questions others may answer.
