*Who are we?*
We’re Victoria & Craig! In 2021, we decided that we needed to make life a little more exciting, so we bought a used fifth wheel and completely renovated it. Then, we sold our house in Tallahassee, Florida and hit the road full time in our RV! We’ve traveled all around the United States (and Baja Mexico!) and fell in love with boondocking in our RV at the most beautiful places. In 2023, we upgraded to a brand new Brinkley RV Model Z 3100. You’ll always find us on some kind of outdoor adventure, whether it’s hiking the Grand Canyon, rock climbing in Yosemite or surfing the shores of Baja Mexico. For the boondocking site...you said you reserved a site, but then when you arrived you didn't have a site and you just take any available site? So the reservation simply ensures a site, but not which site?
@wildrvlife
@wildrvlife 3 ай бұрын
Yes, exactly! You’re really just reserving a “permit” but the individual sites are first, come, first serve. They just limit how many permits they issue at a time so there aren’t too many people there. I also forgot to ever get into the specifics of reserving the site lol 😅 but we have a detailed tutorial here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hKdxoseEv7S7p6M.html

Hey guys. My husband and I hope to go full time soon. I do need you to listen. I can jot stress this enough. If you want to lose a few pounds, stop drinking soda. Diet's increase your chances of having a heart attack by 43% versus drinking regular pop. Also the human body recognizes real sugar, not the fake sugars in diet pops. When using man made sweeteners the thyroid is in total confusion. I hope this helps!!! We can not wait to meet you out there somewhere!!!

This is very true, I quit sodas altogether and since I like fizzy drinks I drink sparkling water with meals. I stopped eating chocolate and started playing waay more tennis. Going FT the only thing I’m going to miss is being able to play tennis at least three times a week.

Camp Margaritaville is nice, but over $100 a nite, noooooo thanx!!! I’d rather spend $180 for 6 months boondocking in SW Arizona at the LTVA’s bouncing around between the “Q” and Imperial Dam. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and much more freedom and autonomy, and not being beholding to the outrageous RV resort price gouging. Just my 2 cent contribution guys. 👍😃🍻

I've been boondocking for 16 months around Utah. I really prefer the quiet open areas vs campsites. It's not cheap by any means, even when boondocking, but the peace of mind & freedom is worth it! I cook all my meals from scratch which is more expensive but much healthier. Every few months I'll stay at a hotel for a day or two, that serves breakfast. I love the break of not doing dishes & using someone else's towels to wash. I'm looking to join a travel group & start going across the U.S. this year. I'm hoping to do this as long as possible, I can't imagine living in a sticks & bricks anytime soon! I've been a homeowner for decades and I don't miss mowing the lawn!!!!!
@wildrvlife
@wildrvlife 3 ай бұрын
We still haven't gotten to explore Utah much, but hope to one day! It looks like there is a lot of really good boondocking out there. That’s a good idea with the hotel stay break, it definitely helps to have a couple days where you can relax from the regular routine

Here's something different for breakfast. In a bowl scramble an egg. Stir in a 1/2 cup of raisin bran. Fry it exactly like a pancake. Drizzle some syrup on it. Whipping cream on cheating days. One pancake holds me over till lunch. Great for quick, filling, outdoor breakfasts. You're welcome 😊

During a 5400 mile June trip on a budget last year through southeast to northeast to northwest and back I stayed at all but luxury camping. State & federal were modestly priced and had 30A, water & sewer. One Good Sam was tight, a bit corny and moderately priced. A county campground was minimal but comfortable. I-80 rest areas had dedicated $10 hookups with water, 30&50A. Mooch-docking was comfortable with 1 marine battery only (didn't need AC or heat). Campground in Virginia was very large, reasonably priced and beautifully wooded but I used it only to park my trailer while staying with kin for 3 nights. ,The most expensive and spartan was a Milwaukee fairground, again for a 3 night visit with kin. Although I made some reservations I really didn't need them except for the federal site. The only one that had nothing available was one that scheduled an "free", onsite concert night with local talent. Total camping cost for 28 days on the road: $590. Average: $29 but for two $50/night locations needed for close driving to visit kin. Efficiency was the rule for this trip. Since I was mostly on the road, I made use of every public restroom rather than depositing solids on board. Paper cups and plates (recommend Chinet) and left only utensils, one pan and pot to wash & dry. Mooch-docking negated the need for laundromat stops. Healthy dining was the rule with only two, guilty roadside stops for Italian and Oriental. The 2-way fridge/freezer was a blessing with leftover propane in the dual 30s.

This is a great experience of all the different types of camping! Interesting that the fairground ended up being the most expensive, we’ve stayed at a couple, but they are usually pretty cheap…they can be a good “hack” for staying in popular places for less. You had an overall great average though! We usually never make reservations very far in advance (usually 1-2 days before we arrive) and can always find SOMETHING. We love taking advantage of family members’ washers and dryers too 😆

My wife does not like camping. She likes riding around to new places and spending one night in private campgrounds along the route. We do have one spot we boondock near home that is 20’ from the Mississippi River and we can watch the boats go by. Congrats on your one year anniversary. I must have found your channel right after that. Best wishes, Kevin

Great video! Some healthy meals my family has been enjoying a lot lately are: omelets with tons of good veggies in them, roasted Brussels sprouts and grilled chicken, homemade fish tacos with grilled fish and a simple coleslaw with Greek yogurt dressing vs mayo. Oatmeal with fruit and cinnamon in it, hard boiled eggs as a quick snack, a variety of salads like you made. Thanks again for the great content!!

I’ve traveled with 4 types of grills over the years. Your Weber is the easiest one to travel with in my experience. The three others were: Traeger tailgater, 2 burner Blackstone, and a 2 burner Weber (twice the size). They each have a purpose and you have to compromise with each style.

We barely go out to eat, except as an occasional treat. It takes a lot but have learned to keep our healthy meals simple. It is challenging at times and extra clean up but worth it to have the energy healthy eating brings. We own a lot in a luxury RV Resort in Ft Myers Beach. Our preference is to camp in the wild -more rustic like State Parks, Harvest Hosts & COE campgrounds. So....we rent our lot out and get as close to real nature as we can. BTW.....we love your channel & followed you originally because you have a Brinkley like ours. Now, I feel like you are friends we have never met. Happy traveling!

Florida in the summer months with no AC is horrible. That is strictly for the cooler months like Jan and February. Check out the county parks. They are nice and very reasonable. Like $20-25/night. If you are still in Florida, check out Hardee Lakes that is run by Hardee County Parks near Bowling Green and Wauchula. Also south of there near Arcadia is a small county park on the Peace River called Brownsville park.

Hi guy's...Craig...I believe Jeanne "cheats" at putt putt also...she keeps score...and ALWAYS wins by 1 point 🤔🤔..we like boondocking also...don't usually use the amenities at most parks...but I definitely don't need to buy ($150.00 a night) the place..$50.00 is ok...enjoy your videos...thanks...stay safe..J&A2ofus

I really like my Gen-Y. Once I mastered hitting the ball the first time. I learned it helps to make sure the ball is greased to help it slip on and off. Your height is perfect. No need to lower it any. Someday you might need an extra inch bed clearance.

Yes, the grease makes it slide on and off much easier. I do think I might leave it where it's at.

We like a combination of resorts, regular campgrounds and boondocking. We bought 8 acres in south MS, put in a well, septic and several 50amp outlets. So we have a winter base camp to chill for a bit. Our favorite is summer time in mountains of Montana.
