Consider it more of a moral stance against animal cruelty than a diet, diets are only temporary and veganism is something that stays with your values till the end, it's purpose is to exterminate animal cruelty. It would amazing to see the Buff Dudes explain the real benefits such as animal rights and and environmental benefits instead of just what it does to their own bodies. Kind of a narcissistic way at looking at veganism. Safe to say they just tried out a plant based diet. Animals have just as much will to live as me or you.

@@jasonhollis1254 I've been vegan nearly 5 years, started at 12. Only put on more muscle mass and got rid of the selfishness that says my life is above the lives of an animal. You're plant based, it was only a diet for you. People go vegan and stay vegan for animal rights.

I really wish you guys slowly increased the amount of fiber every few days for this very reason, hate seeing people make the same mistakes i did when i first went vegan a few years ago. Its easy to just wanna eat a shit ton of beans all the time for protein and fiber, but compared to a diet higher in animal foods, simply adding more fruits and veggies already increases your fiber intake.

You dudes are great, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I'm 67 years old, I've had torn rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders and in 2018 I had a TKR of my right knee. A little over a year ago, at my Dr's request I started eating more plant based and began going to my local fitness center exercising three days a week. Since then I have lost over 40 lbs and my health has improved dramatically. I feel like I want to add more to my workout routine and I really enjoy working out with the machines and some free weights. I'm not sure whether I should start going to fitness center five days a week or try to incorporate a split workout routine, say M-T, TH-F. Currently I go M-W-F, Start out with 15 min on upright bike, resistance at 6, 7 and 8 for a total of 4 miles. Then into the weight room, where I use the abductor adductor machine, fly machine, ab and back machine, lateral pull downs, bench press and tricep pull downs with some free weights for curls. What would you recommend to help with my routine considering my surgeries? Thanks for any suggestions and keep cranking out the vids!

Great job gents. As a vegan I appreciate the sincere effort to educated yourselves and give plant based eating a try. I also appreciate the honesty....and humour. Lol. The farm and beach scenes. I particularly enjoyed the humour because it was easy to see that it was all done in good spirits, and not from a judgemental place. Glad to hear you’ll be keeping elements of plant based eating in your lives. Well done. For anyone else considering giving a vegan/plant based diet a try....go for it. But do what the Buff Dudes did and educate yourselves first, and plan it out so that you can set yourself up for success. Planned right, a vegan diet is very tasty and will provide you all the energy you need to hit the gym hard. Vegan food staples for energy and strength: lentils, oats, beans, rice, pasta, quinoa, chia seeds, veggies, fruit and a vegan protein powder. Lentils are packed with carbs, protein and fibre. And you can add them to any dish.

I just want to thank you two sincerely for making such a well planned and researched video about a HEALTHY vegan diet. So many do junk food vegan or don’t eat enough. About the gas, o would recommend gradually increasing beans and high fiber foods until your body adjusts rather than the massive overnight increase! I’ve been vegan for 2 years now and don’t have this issue but I went slow with the transition over about 6 months. Also, I think you will have more reason to make the switch when you continue learning more about the environmental and ethical aspect of being vegan rather than just heath! ❤️🙌🏽

Anthony M yes but people who eat meat usually eat a bit of processed food which already has a lot of sugars and stuff that make it palatable thrown in there, and they also cook with a lot of jar sauces and packet mixes. It’s great for vegans to have a variety that will make it interesting to eat a simple salad or turn a slice of cauliflower into a burger patty, without a salty slab of meat thrown on. For me onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, celery salt, curry powder, cumin, garam masala, turmeric, ground and fresh coriander, ground and fresh ginger, cinnamon, lemon juice, lime juice, sriracha, Tamari or soy, Worcestershire, garlic, onion, maple syrup, yeast flakes and mayonnaise are pantry and fridge must haves.

@mrmoth26 3 жыл бұрын
@Remains Anonymous "Real food" is something you made up, what is meat supposed to be? Imaginary food? Meat is eaten not only for taste but also for nutrition, mock meats are shit. Why does real food have to grow out from the ground? Source? Who even uses that word/definition. Meat is real because of the fact that it's touchable and edible and nutritious. Plant milk is also shit, although you can get a lot of calories and calcium from sesame (more than from milk). I could define "real food" as something that has a mother. The closest thing to your "real food" would probably be whole food, if it's not processed and grows out of the ground or has a mother it's probably a whole food.

It's cool that you kept some things from veganism afterwards. Veganism is definitely the way to go, as shown in numerous studies: way less disease/death, way less greenhouse gas, way less animal suffering, way less land usage for farming, way cheaper food, way higher energy levels, way better palate sensors, you name it! It's good that you encourage people to try it, thank you for your honesty guys! Namaste

I've been plant-based for a year now. You want to look at vegan foods with high protein/low fiber ratios to reduce flatulence. Per 100g/100ml, the following foods are the kings of good ratios: Seitan = 75g protein and 2g fiber. Tofu = 15.2g protein and 0.6g fiber. Soy drinks (per 100ml) = 33g protein and 6g fiber. Some foods have hella protein per 100g and don't have too bad ratios, like black bean spaghetti, but the fiber is still taking up a lot of the RDA. Black bean spaghetti = 45.3g protein and 19.6g fiber. I'd recommend incorporating these foods into your diet regardless (NO SEITAN IF YOU ARE GLUTEN INTOLERANT THOUGH). Every gram of protein you get from these foods will take away protein acquired from animal products. Your diet will be healthier and it's more environmentally-friendly too :) Respect, Dudes!

I have more strength then ever during my workouts, i no longer need sleep aids ie melatonin, 5htp. The results of going carnivore is just too good to be true. I just shake my head in regret to money waisted on plant based protein bars, plant based protein powders (I'm lactose intolerant). I thought the gas and bloating was due to "age" catching up to me. I no longer have need for bromalin, digestive enzymes, beatine hci. My digestion is perfect. Just wish I'd found out about canivore sooner. Hey man, I had this same attitude for a while but recently went vegan at the start of this year and honestly my biggest regret is not starting it sooner. Highly recommend trying for a few days every week and working towards it which is part of what I did months leading up to going fully vegan.

@@hudnoraa1264your anecdotal claims are false. According to the most creditable overwhelming meta and randomized trial medical data and evidence proved that vegans do have the lowest risk of disease and all cause mortality compared to vegetarians and omnivores. Highly due to us not consuming high amounts of sat fat, trans fat, and cholesterol that's in a meat eater diet. Which causes disease and death.

@@DavidDA99 unfortunately Richard does use outdated research for example... this is taken from a relatively new scientific study.... Despite popular belief among doctors and the public, the conceptual model of dietary saturated fat clogging a pipe is just plain wrong. A landmark systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies showed no association between saturated fat consumption and (1) all-cause mortality, (2) coronary heart disease (CHD), (3) CHD mortality, (4) ischaemic stroke or (5) type 2 diabetes in healthy adults.1 Similarly in the secondary prevention of CHD there is no benefit from reduced fat, including saturated fat, on myocardial infarction, cardiovascular or all-cause mortality.2 It is instructive to note that in an angiographic study of postmenopausal women with CHD, greater intake of saturated fat was associated with less progression of atherosclerosis whereas carbohydrate and polyunsaturated fat intake were associated with greater progression.

@@Damian.Williams i would like the full paper please, the conclusion does not cut it for me because there are a lot of studies funded by the meat, dairy and eggs industries that are intentionally flawed by design. they want to show a conclusion that would allow people to continue eating their products. billion dollars industries propaganda :/ (not saying this one is, idk yet, but a shit ton are)

Nice video bros. I have been on Plant-based diet for several years now and never faced any issue with that. I tried fasting for 12 to 14 hours and limiting to 2 meals a day and my energy levels are much better with intermittent fasting. Hope you will try 2 meals a day and all plant-based

When I went vegan I experienced heavy gas too but that’s due to the fact I switched to a plant-based diet in one day rather than doing so gradually. You’ll get gassy if you switch cold turkey because your body won’t be used to all the fiber you wouldn’t get on your old diet since your gut microbiome needs time to adjust. After a while though, I stopped getting gassy or bloated from being vegan. Overall this was a great video that shows that going vegan isn’t as bad as some may suspect and if you’re not going vegan then you should at least incorporate more plants into your diet.

@@j.obrien4990 That stupid myth. Being raised veggie/vegan since birth and listening this bullshit my whole life. That's not how the digestive system works. True to that meat takes more time to digest but not days nor weeks. The human body is really good at following one steady diet doesn't really matter which it takes a while for the body to set up correctly around 1-3 months. Depends on your gut bacteria really and if you have bad gut bacteria you are not going to have any luck with any diet. You can solve that with a poop transplant.

The gassiness comes from ramping up fibre and legumes very quickly (or improperly preparing legumes). It's great you guys did vegan the healthy way, but your gut microbiome needs time to adjust. It took my girlfriend a few months actually! Do things more gradually, and you'll actually stick with it. Habits take time to develop. Rapid shifts in habits make it too hard to stick with it long-term. *Progress over perfection!* PS: Those documentaries are one-sided because well, this diet is better for the the animals, environment and health. They merely represent a strong counter voice to the equally strongly voiced communities pushing keto/carnivore.
