I think you missed the beauty of Moody's self appointed necklace. It's ironic that farmers would prefer plastic to metal, but I understand. Your strategizing about inducing Moody to move to where you wanted him was really comical -- and it worked! You really do know your animals! That says a lot about the care you take with them.

A stationary cattle brush for a cow is like a massage for you or me. It calms and helps relieve stress. You might reduce some of the displays of stress like tipping tables.

As a suburban person whose farming experience is a backyard garden with patio tomatoes, cats dogs birds occasional raccoons make up our animal kingdom.. WHAT is a Cattle brush?

@@poorthing ... it's a long, stiff bristled 'brush' either attached to a pipe firmly secured in the ground, to a sturdy fence post or the side of a building. Cows, goats, horses, bulls, donkeys, etc usually enjoy rubbing against it. If low enough even pigs enjoy a bit of a scratch and massage. There's so many areas of their bodies they cannot reach a stationary stiff brush can be a huge sourced of fun and relaxation ... and entertainment for other animals and humans.

@ AC Gilbert Have you not come across the ad for a cattle brush slotted in amongst these farming/homesteading channells? The one guy sounds French and on another ad the chap at their factory is an Oriental (from their accents) the brush has stiff bristles, is upright, & is activated by the cow/steer leaning in to it , ingenious. Another model the brush is lengthwise. One of these models works off electric. It relieves the animal's stress. Probably pricey.

Moody is quite the character! He needs some BIG BLUE BARRELS to bat around their yard! He might be bored since he does not have a herd to "hang" with! Maybe put some of that metal stripping between the concrete and the rock to keep the rock off the driveway. Just a thought. Do you still have the " little O" tractor on the farm? God Bless!

Y'all did a great job coordinating the hay rack, the hay, the tire, and keeping animals intact in the fence! You are professionals now! LOL I love how the animals get so excited on hay day. Peaches says he doesn't like the cold weather! He's going to stay snuggled in his hay cocoon. It was a beautiful sunny day but cold! Love you all, take care!

I was laughing SO Hard over you hiding from Moody, been there and done that myself. I have a POLY Hay ring, have had it for over 3 years now and it's been Great! I love that I can roll it around myself when necessary. Now, I don't have any big Moody's trying to push it around but I have had some calves get up inside it though and never had any damage.

Oh my goodness, I just saw the cutest thing ever at the beginning of this VLOG!!! When Jason was talking about Moody having part of the bail ring over his head and then he moved the camera over to the female goats. Mr Tip was at the front of the fence and Paris started walking towards the front and Tip butted her away she then immediately walked over to Mildred for protection. She's one smart cooking and that was awesome to 😍 see.

It's amazing to me how our bodies get use to the climate we live in. At 41 degrees I would be wearing a light jacket. I'm from Janesville Wisconsin. I like the cool weather because my body doesn't like the heat. I couldn't work in the heat everyday in the Summer like you guys do.

I just wanted to let you know something I noticed. That tire you put on was either mounted on the rim backwards when they fixed it or you put it on backwards. I bet it is the former. The tread is going the wrong direction. Keep up the good work. Seeing others love for farming is always great.

*We hung heavy Sandbags on ropes off the bottom of the Hay ring.* When we did that it was to heavy for them to move. Attach the thick ropes at the bottom rung so they can't get hung up and when you need to move it just untie the ropes. They have poked acouple bags over the years but it's an easy and cheap fix. Put the bags on the inside. It's been working great.

When you said “cutting the fence back on” I started laughing. Must be a southern type phrase. Here we would have said “turn fence back on”. It’s so interesting how we all say things differently.
