Most European cities are very old, which is why they have a distinct "historic center" where, in the old days, everything happened: markets, administrative buildings, etc. As the population grew, so did the cities, expanding outwards. But they managed to recreate a center point in each and every suburb that features all the basic commodities, which saves those who live there from having to go downtown to get their basic needs.

In the UK, we also have Town centre's. It's a thing, not just big cities, everywhere even small town's have a 'centre'

In Sweden you are not allowed to smoke at public places. Most resturants, shopping areas. busstops, trainstations, well pretty much every where. We also have a lot of apartment complex that do not allowe smoking inside or outside. Smoke give me headaches so i love this options and choices.

City center of California ????? I don't get it !
@boskee
@boskee 4 ай бұрын
What you said about the "city centre of California" made absolutely no sense, because no one would ever ask about the "city centre of the Czech Republic", but you would ask about the Prague's city centre. So the more appropriate example would be "Los Angeles city centre" which would also be a valid question. Also, the US is smaller than Europe.

In the Netherlands the number of smoking people is decreasing year on year. You hardly are allowed to smoke anywhere. Smoking is prohibited in public places, pubs, shops, restaurants, public transport (including railway stations). So if you see people smoking it will be outside.
@PDVism

Concerning smoking... ever considered that you have that impression because 1/ you spend more time outside, which is one of the rare places in most countries that one are allowed to smoke 2/ you spend your time in tourist areas, where there are lots of tourists, a far bit of them will be smokers. If you look at the stats you'll see that it greatly depends on where you are in Europe In 2021, 11.5% of U.S. adults were smokers Among the EU Member States, the share of daily smokers ranged from 6.4 % in Sweden and 9.9 % in Finland to 23.6 % in Greece and 28.7 % in Bulgar. Italy is one of those countries that are below the EU average of 19%

There is no such thing as hatred towards the USA in Europe. In Europe, the ignorance of Americans is rather laughable. I remember that in 2014, 6 American helicopters had to land in the Polish Pomerania region near the village of Nowa Wiś due to fog. They were shocked when the locals came to them with coffee and cake. So there is no hatred . I have a center even in the village where I live kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ha5xg9Wotp20pKc.html 😁

U$ govt constantly pump up the tensions, conflicts, drugs, shootings, to create disunity internally as well as globally, just look at the electoral mess, the war between red and blue. U$ is being desroyed from within by your 0.0001%.

In Japan, when there is a earthquake or similar disaster, people leave their car keys in their cars and evacuate, so when emergency services need to move their cars for some reason, they can. And people seem to be comfortable doing that.

I knew the US was't the cleanest country but damn! thats alot of trash to have lying around, not to mention all the homeless people, giving them a house and a simple job would help SO much. I also did't know US cities had a city center, i mean, here every village to city has one since it works and it makes it easier for travelers to find their way around. And then there's all the false advertising out there, films are one thing but the fact even the city itself tries to lie to u to cover up their mistakes says volumes about those in charge. As for theme Parks, those are all the same no matter where u go and its a golden rule to NEVER go to one on a holiday, better go at the end of a season couse then even the ticket price might be lowered and of course u can walk everywhere with minimal waiting lines. Went to Euro-Disney back in the 90's and we did exactly that and it saved us SO much money!

Switzerland has one of the safest and richest population in the middle of europe , but what is not said is they trow away homeless people (At least from the center or tourist spots ) so the numbers are flawed , and its very closed work environement like you have to know someone to get jobs , its always concerning to see homeless diseapear over night . in france we have some homeless and sometimes refugees , but overall everyone can have a social housing if they make the paperwork , some prefere not . But villages of homeless its unbelievable in a non 3rd world country .

No place in England is further than 73 miles from the sea which is a lot warmer than the freezing Pacific Ocean. The Bay Watch cast have my greatest respect. Regards locking car doors I have never seen anyone lock one in the multitude of US films I have watched or if there isn`t one in the ignition there is usually one behind the sun visor .Even then the car refuses to start as the creature approaches.

19:01 London, Paris or Rome are cities comparable in size to San Francisco and, in contrast, have beautiful historic centers. But what else can you ask for if, for understandable reasons, there is neither Gothic nor Renaissance in this country, and building development begins with the classicist style from the 18th century or cheesy imitations of ancient buildings.

Well actually here in Finland you can leave your vehicle running outside and propably anyone won´t touch it. You might see that if delivery guy delivers something small or taxi driver is helping his/her customer, those cars might be running outside and the doors aren´t locked. And yes, that is great point in his video. Here in Europe (also here in Finland) when you go to some other city to "experience" it, you always go to city central. All the bars, cafes, restaurants, theatres, market squeares, history, everything is there. Other areas are more of a resident or industrial areas around the city and in rear cases at those areas might have something to see, but mostly you´ll find everything there. So it is easy if you take weekend trip Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm or what ever, you always want your hotel to be at the city central or very near so you can walk everywhere.

That was not a good point, they weren't talking about city centre of the Czech republic, or of Italy, they were talking about the centre of a certain city, you can't compare Prague, Berlin, Paris or f.e. Rome to a whole state of Southern California. I mean obviously that an entire state doesn't have one city centre, the Czech republic also doesn't have one main city centre, each city has it's own, and when there are bigger cities, they will be divided to districts and each district of the city will have it's own centre where people gather. For instance Prague has Old Town Square, Venceslas square, Lesser Town square, Letenské square, and so on ...

You guys don't have a public space built into ur areas. The center is all public use, anything u need, square n parks to eat in, toilets, shops, information points, usually a church or castle, it's public, shared space. U don't need to buy, u can walk or visit things for free n mingle with ur community

You will NEVER see a tent in Stockholm or any other city in Sweden. The (quite few) homeless people pitch their tents or whatever in the woods nearby, or find a way to get into the basement of a building. In the summer you may see people sleeping on the sidewalk, but mostly they'll go away to a park, or under a bridge etc

I see a lot of these types of videos, not just relating to the US, but a lot of European cities too. One thing I have noticed in the videos I've seen about US cities is the amount of litter on the streets. NY, LA, Chicago, Vegas, Philly, "Frisco, even DC all have huge areas covered in litter. And they throw garbage bags on the sidewalk for collection and they sit there for god knows how long. Doesn't anyone clean the streets in US cities? They are disgusting. I'm from Australia, and NONE of our cities are like that, the citizens wouldn't tolerate it. Clean up your act America.

And just for clarity, Australian cities, like most cities, has a problem with homeless people. It's pretty commonplace these days to see groups of homeless people outside the railway station in Melbourne and you'll see them on the streets too. But they are not littering the streets, defecating in the streets, and they are not the zombies that I've seen in the US videos (Philadelphia) and they don't have access to firearms.

America is; the beaches, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Sequias/Redwoods, Zion, Shasta, Glacier, Grand Teton, and Arches National Parks, Alaska...most of those are with unique features existing only in the US! Most Americans love open spaces and freedom! If they can afford to leave the mega-cities and relocate to some country home - they will. Remote workers are moving to small towns or country homes with good satellite communications. Farmers and ranchers are not flocking to the cities for a better life - they are staying home where life is actually much better. Suburbs are still viable for working folks living and working in the cities, like cops, teachers, store owners, lawyers, etc... The sad reality is that the US is slowly destroying the concept of cities which are becoming traps for poor people without marketable skills or homeless and/or mentally ill!

Holidays are what people outside the United States have in the spring or summer time to take time off work ( when I was working here in my country of England, i had an allocation of 7 weeks holiday allowance plus 1 year sick leave with 100% pay). The correct way is either happy Christmas or merry Christmas NOT happy holidays. 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
