(Our favorite fall light up is still at Korankei in Aichi, though.)
There are a lot of amazing places around Lake Biwa (it's the largest lake in Japan BY FAR), and Otsu is only a couple minutes from Kyoto by train. We were offered a boat ride, rental bikes, and other things through our hotel but didn't have the time to take them up on the offer. :( Unfortunately this was a short trip for us but we still plan on going back and spending more time exploring later on!

Word from an hotelier . Do not make the bed when you leave, this is how mistakes happen and linen don’t get changes, if you really wanna be nice and help, remove the pillowcase and duvet cover and gather it together . Nice intention anyway .

Is it ok for me to take all the towels that my room has used and throw them in the bathroom?
@MiaOnline
@MiaOnline 6 жыл бұрын
What I usually do is open one of the sheets and throw towels, duvet cover, pillow cases and other used linen like kitchen cloths (in case it has a mini kitchen) in the middle. Then gather all 4 tips and lightly tie them like a handle. So it's a ball of linen. All they have to do is pick it up like a bag.

I'M SO HAPPY PEOPLE ARE COMING TO SHIGA~! Shiga, existing in the shadow of Kyoto, often gets neglected so it's really refreshing and nice to see people coming to experience this beautiful prefecture! :) Consider coming up here to the Northwestern part of Shiga next time (especially in the summer so you can enjoy the lake beachside!) Takashima's beauty is unrivalled! :)

My younger sister's name is Rachel too~ and people mess up both our names even though our parents picked very common names for us. You would think that when in doubt people would just go with the "standard/traditional" spellings...but no. They almost always guess the "unique" spellings first. It's so strange. (I'm talking about native English speakers; I don't expect foreigners to know common English names, lol)

I got excited just from hearing you both get excited about the hotel! The only time I get to go to hotels anymore is if I go to an anime convention. Some of the hotels I've been to for them have been really nice as well. I know that when I go to visit Japan someday I would like to go in the fall or spring. Summer is too hot and humid for me to have any fun and I like the idea of being able to see the Sakura in bloom as well as see the leaves change color over the mountains. I'm glad you both had fun!
