From LEGO to Animation to Christopher Nolan thriller, turns out it didn’t start great. This is one of the cheesiest, campiest movies that's ever existed. But does that make it a fun watch? Or is it just a boring movie from the 60s? Today we’re gonna find out or go insane trying.

This show was a comedy but one that was played straight. No winking at the camera, no acting as if any of it was ridiculous. That's what most people don't seem to get. It was never meant to be taken seriously.

Its' great for the dudes who made this video to ridicule these old movies, these guys who revel in their own sense of importance. I saw this movie when it was in the theatres and for an 8 year old in the 60's this was absolutely amazing and a fun experience. This movie was made for kids in that era, so for these millennials or gen z or whatever they are to not understand that is quite hilarious 🤣 Boy they better not watch Superman Vs. The Mole Men from 1951, they might really bust a gut 😆🤣😂😋

What makes the Adam West Batman so fun to watch is that it's so absurdly stupid yet they take it so seriously, it's great.

That was the whole pitch for the show. It was intentionally over the top campy but they wanted the actors to play it 100% straight. Their reasoning is that it would provide a different entertainment for kids and adults. Kids would enjoy it as a “serious” action adventure show, parents could enjoy it as a comedy.

I might have to disagree. It always struck me as the type of over the top silly movie and show that didn't take itself seriously and that's one of the things that I always loved about it. I love self aware stupid comedies and that on top of that Batman was always one of my top favorite super heroes was what made them a fun watch for me.

My favorite shark repellant joke was a cut scene from Arkham City. In the part where the shark attacks Batman on the ice raft, originally Batman would have pulled out a massive can of Bat shark repellant, which would have been a container for a giant brass knuckle that he would punch the shark with. It was cut because it would have been too outlandish for the game's tone, so instead Batman just punches the shark a bunch.

You got to love how the actors for the villains give it their all for whatever they're in, Frank Gorshin (as the Riddler) especially! Honestly my favorite Riddler! Couple of fun facts: In nearly every episode of the tv series, when Batman and Robin have to climb up a wall, they'll into a guest star or character, and have a slight aside with them, including, but not limited to, Colonel Klink, Santa Claus, Sammy Davis Jr, Lurch, The Green Hornet and Kato, Jerry Lewis, Dick Clark, Don Ho, etc. They made a comic contiuation of the 1966 series, titled Batman '66, and an animated movie that finally introduced Two-Face to the '66verse.

Batman had started off serious in the 30s comics and on film (he even carried a gun at one point), but this movie (and the TV series) was done during the Silver Age of comics, where the Comics Code Authority (yes, that was a thing) had nerfed the seriousness of any comic book characters to the point where it was just silly (pretty much "Super-Friends"). It wasn't until Tim Burton's Batman in 1989 that anyone saw a serious Batman character on the Big Screen again. The series was fun though because everyone took the silliness so seriously, with Adam West deadpanning all his lines years before Leslie Nielsen came along.

This movie is in unironically great. The writers knew exactly what they were doing. People who say the Batman and Robin movie is just like this show and Movie are wrong. In my opinion it’s just as great as The Dark Knight. It’s just showcasing a different era of Batman.

One thing to note about the 1960s Batman is he's deputized like he was in the Golden Age/ Silver age comics meaning whenever he takes down his rogue Gallery they're sent to prison instead of a mental institution.

0:43 "trumpets on crack" is also a good way to describe the 3rd Generation of Pokemon games (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald), and I love those and this movie. So what does that say about me as a non-trumpet-playing person?

I remember watching this when I was young, and I really enjoyed it. Now that I'm older, it's such a weird, campy movie to watch today, especially when you're comparing this film to the new dark and gritty adaptations of Batman, but it's still a classic that I still hold a soft spot for

It feels so weird how Batman was so goofy back then. Like sure, we have Harley Quinn and had Brave and the Bold for a bit, but this is just a silly and fun time, completely different vibe.

This’s why The Lego Batman works, it has the classic cheese with all the Bat-Stuff and the message about friends being family, but it plays into that. Batman being a Bat-Child not wanting to go outside, all the forms of Bat-Chines, how desperate Joker is for Batman to Bat-Care for him, this movie is still hilarious but it clearly isn’t intentional a lot of the time
