putting soap in your kid’s mouth is a ridiculous punishment that used to be huge in the U.S. genuinely absurd that it was ever tolerable, and i’m sure there’s plenty of families that still do it.

I remember my mom trying it when my sister first started to swear. I couldn’t stop laughing , started my mom laughing, and my sister too even tho she was crying with a bar of soap in her mouth. Failed all around & never happened again. I dunno what’s worse bar of soap getting in your teeth or the liquid soap right to the back of the throat. Both sound awful.

Fr, especially the boy and the oldest girl. Like the oldest girl must be so frustrated being constantly picked on by her younger sister, who in turn is most likely just acting out because she's not getting any attention from either parent. And the boy, like it worries me how quiet he seems to be. Sure he could just be a reserved kid, but judging by the family it seems more like he's just learnt to be quiet and withdrawn into himself because even if he speaks up his needs aren't going to be met.

As a mum of 2 boys, one 15, one 9, boys even when they dont have access to games with guns in, they will play with "guns" and weapons! Theyll make anything into a weapon to play! This violence from those boys, comes from the influence of the parent.

fr, I'm not even a guy and I used to make swords and guns with lego and those stackable pens that we had in school, it wasn't because I played "violent" video games, it was just fun. people really need to start taking responsibility for and improving upon their shitty parenting rather than blaming everything else

Legit. It has a lot to do with sociology and the gendering of different influences on kids (like princess movies with female royalty sitting around being pretty and male knights or princes training with swords and fighting) but in general, yes, boys tend to play more rough and with imagined weapons. How severe that gets depends on the parents.

I was born round the 2000's, in the UK, in a dodgy neighborhood. First off, my mum would literally kick me and my siblings outta the house. She used to say "curfew is when the street lights turn on. Don't come home unless you need a piss, you're bleeding, or there's police around." (Dodge neighborhood things) When I was age 1-4, I wasn't allowed to go out and play. 5-9 I was allowed to the park in my estate or play in nearby fields. Add on: I used to get soap in the mouth for swearing, every one of my siblings got the soap at least once. Also, my mum didn't care if Adele, Royality, Princess Diana and a live TV crew streaming on thousands of screens around the world, she'd still threaten to beat our asses

25:34 Average American household experience, especially a southern one. I'd disagree to doin one thing and my dad or mom would threaten to beat my ass. It's a horrible way to raise your kid because it makes them grow up to think if they do one thing slightly wrong they'll get hit or yelled at. Again, my parents raised me like this and I'm 15 years old flinching at the slightest movement of someone. 25:54 The dad yelling is another thing I went through at a younger age. All I'd do is argue with my brother and I'd get the backlash, and if I tried to explain my side of the story I'd get yelled at more. American households are fucked up and "mental" as George described it. Other instances I've been through: 26:08 26:23 33:51 (this and hot sauce)

Actually though. I love how pretty much all the parents in this video can be summed up as the following: Parents: Emotionally neglect and/or physically abuse their children Kids: *reacts to those behaviours by becoming aggressive* Parents: Wow why are you so violent? I just dragged you by the shoulder down the stairs... I mean the first bunch of kids, I could tell in the first 2 minutes that they're just frustrated and lashing out because their parents are emotionally neglecting them. I mean the poor son has literally withdrawn into himself because they just don't care. The 3 boys are also just reacting to the violence they experience via their parents that are clearly on some sick power trip. It's a no brainer that you're going to get kids with anger issues if that's how you treat them. Not to mention that clearly they have a lot of energy, but the parents aren't playing with them or enrolling them in a sport or something. And the last two kids, honestly I'm more worried about the dad. Like he 100% is one of those 'I am the parent and you are the child' types, like you can tell that he thinks his shit doesn't stink and that he's never wrong. I'm willing to be that the younger kid's aggression probably comes from him, and that the older kid is most likely just sick of his shit judging by the annoyed sounding 'okay'
