Imagination Land isn't just imaginary characters from stories and myth. It's also everything made up for advertising. Hence, things like the Cavity Creeps which were from a Crest ad campaign 50 years ago.

Cartman made up the Woodlands Critters story as a class project for Christmas on year. Stan was like the protagonist in the story.
