Congrats you bought from two great flocks disappointed you didn't buy Tom's ewe lamb for Sofie would have been a great wedding present. The long trip up is worth it think of the Northern Ireland breeders we have to wait 30 days and hope they pass the vets then shipping and we still go every year. I will speak to you next year when you bring your lambs up to sell next year

Cheers Jim! We had our eyes on number 45 of Kilphins but unfortunately couldn’t stretch that far haha. Not quite got the same budget as the Lleyns for them yet

You should have bought a ram, and put it over some of your older ewes, get a bloody good first cross, improve fertility, and hybrid vigour

We’ve got a border tup already 👍 unfortunately I don’t really rate them up against the Lleyns…..

My understanding was it’s not often you buy single ewes. Does this tend to be the way for more premium ones?

I am located in The Finger Lakes region of NY State USA. I have a flock of commercial North Country Cheviots. I am going to be crossing some of them to Border Leicester rams to produce Scotch Halfbreds. What are your observations about this?

Sounds like a good plan! Traditionally a very good breeding ewe
