Kuala Terengganu we love so much, it is a nice little place with a good energy. Today we went and made a little market food tour at the local market - the pasar payang. It was a little fest to say the truth and we tried many different snacks. A good time. Main focus: local kuih. But please see for yourself. We would appreciate if you watched the whole video and give it a like, and maybe you will even comment or share it on your social media channels. Cheers guys.
If you want to make a contribution feel free to sent us something on paypal: moonshine.lemongrass@yahoo.com.

# at 2:00 a local seasonal fruit called "SENTOL" with a thick outer cover which can be diced and cooked in dishes like (masak lemak cili api) a yellow gravey coconut milk infused with spicy hot tiny local chilies etc.. There are similar smaller versions called "DUKU", a smaller size "LANGSAT" and an even smaller verity with a thinner outer skin called "RAMBAI".. each tasted different from the other. Not exactly sure.. but I guess the "MANGGIS" (mangosteen) aka "Queen of fruits" is in the same main category/verity as well.. 🤔

Yeah, it's a "kuih" video indeed. Lots of kuih there and glad to know you guys love them. "Apam balik"/pancake is another popular snack too. The traditional type will consist of only grounded peanuts and corns but the modern version will have all sort of fillings. Shout-out to Alif ( hope l get his name correct ) for the treat. With so much apam and kuih, no wonder all of you are stuffed. The fruit that you tried is called "buah sentul"/buah seten. Actually, we eat the flesh after removing the skin. The seeds contain very little flesh. It tastes better when eaten with assam boi powder or "garam belacan". ( soy sauce, sugar chillies and a bit of belacan (shrimp paste) Thanks for market tour, Sir. Enjoyed watching.

Moonshine it's not animal skins. Those fish/shrimp &/or squid crackers which you buy in kilos, go home fry them in oil. Voila you get the crackers called Keropok that you eat as snacks or have with the Nasi Kerabu. These are Keropok keeping (sliced) in dry form. Not to be mistaken with Keropok Lekor the chunkier boiled version which is also fried and eaten with chili sauce. Btw correction the green colour in most malaysian Kueh is from the Pandan leave - PANDAN not Padang (field). Pandan is the Asian vanilla. There you go

Those stinky beans is a must try , vegetarian should love it , but a bit smelly come out later from your body.. hahaha .. Stinky beans called by malaysians - Petai as in purr-tie.. Faboulous when mix in sambal (like the chilli paste gravy in nasi lemak) and mix in sambal udang (shrimp), heaven taste ,popular malay food

Ha ha ha. The adorable baby is missing out on food-fest, and he is not pleased at all (bending his neck to peek past mama's back)! Bring him to the front, you guys !! He should be the star of every show from here-on:) He seems to be camera-thirsty, unlike his siblings:) No, seriously, this baby deserves more screen time!

those beans, they are called Stink beans. and for a good reason 😄. once you eat this your flatulence will be very different !! although its a delicacy in Asian countries, its not for everyone.

@@mtzyzy im sure they must be delicious. I love Malay food and have been to Malaysia once. its just that certain foods are new to people from different countries. and some tastes need to be developed. like in Greenland eating rotten shark fat is a delicacy but its not something we can consume easily. Balut (boiled duck fetus) in Philipines is a delicacy but not everybody's cup of tea !! although they do have lot of other very delicious food options.

Finally, but still many people wear masks, some people even all day, they don't realize that the C02 that you breath out and breath in hold a potential threat of you do it a long time. Scientists have now proven that this could lead to permanent brain damage in some cases. But let's see....
