My friend got hacked, lost her entire account and had to restart all over again. Its gut wrenching, like you said all that hard work, basically gone down the tube, hopefully this never happens again to you & her, as 100% out of order. SHOULD ALWAYS get a backup drive to keep your content. You can always get an external 2TB drive to keep as a back up

Happy and glad to see and hear you got your account, back. Also google does send notificiations about another device logging into your account. But that's when i logging in using a laptop, phone, tv and or other new devices. But other than that seeing this happend to you is horrorifying and heart breaking. Make sure to set a password that only you and chlo knows and to also have security questions with the correct answer that you both only know.

I hear you! Was hacked myself last year - lost years of client photos, videos and reviews - nearly cost me my business. But you guys are awesome - you'll bounce back real quick from this - its just scary as hell initially! Love what you two do - can wait to see more.

Phishing, vishing, malware, scamware, and virus are rampant. If it can be done to govt cybersec intel agencies it can happen to anyone. Glad YT helped and there was no real malice involved. This was a good lesson tho

Sorry mate, to tell you the truth there are quite a lot of hackers and scammers here in my country (Philippines), most are from India who uses some kind of vpn to have their location here and its getting difficult to catch these crooks. Even locals here getting victimized.

Maybe you will properly secure your account and use a militiary grade password. Maybe get yourself a security key also with biometric authentication. Can people stop using the same passwords across multiple accounts, your making hackers jobs waaaay to easy. Glad you got it sorted but its a reality check for you to secure your data!

I setup 2 factor authentication and it helps, change the password everything 3 months too..

2-factor helps so you don't get locked out fully, but it doesn't actually prevent this attack which usually works by having the victim open a malicious attachment on their computer (That then steals your session tokens and uses them to get into the account without needing to log in.) or uses a phishing attack combined with MFA notification spam as seen here where you then absentmindedly click "Yes, that is me" on the 2 factor check. Use FIDO2 keys, people, those can't be phished as easily.

if you have a fingerprint reader on your pc set it up as a secondery log in , they cant hack the account with that on it

Just to be real why they are hacking you matt: 1. Money - it’s so common that they needed money 2. Perv - you have a beautiful girl and they are looking for pics if you know what I mean 3. Rising in social media - some people get jealous with you guys The best way to avoid this is: 1. Always change your password 1-3mo 2. Always have an 2-way authentication 3. Avoid vlogging you personal information Love you guys both❤❤❤

Well, clearly whoever hacked you has much more security knowledge than you, I mean, he or she enabled two factor authentication with a usb key... You SHOULD do that yourselves, at least add a phone so Google send you a code to validate your identity.

This is pretty horrible and why I have a encrypted password vault and multiple multi factor authentication methodes on all my important accounts. Even my not important account have multiple identity authentication methodes on it. And if I get a mail like "update your password"or anything like that. Or "log in into your account to do X" And it's not about the thing that has been stole,. You can have the most unimportant little thing stolen. But your sense of safety is gone.

I don't know who thinks this is a good idea to hack into someone's entire KZfaq account or social media account I'm pretty sure this is illegal in some states and countries do hack into someone's personal account

so you learned 4 important things: 1. data-redundance., which mot means the cloud! 2. Never do important things with your phone, use the Computer. 3. change your password, maybe monthly, , and create a good one! t4. always create a backup-site, witch is similar to the the mastersite, but the name and the password..that's all., folks.😎
