Immediately after watching this video, I laid down and snuggled with both of my dogs. To truly feel an animal’s love is one the best experiences in this life.

This is enough to bring grown man like me cry 😭

Kwibi brought him back to his family saying, "this is the guy I've talking about everyday."

If you don't think animals feel love you've never had a pet.

I don't cry very often, but this is extraordinary. Love can not be forgotten...you always remember.

Not as if to say goodbye...As if to say "Please don't leave me" 😢 that's is one of the most beautiful yet heart breaking things I've seen in a while. I love animals. And we need to do more. I need to do more. ❤❤❤

I don't think Kwibi wanted to say goodbye at all. This was so heartbreaking.

*The poignant scene where Kwibi trailed the boat, patiently waiting through the night to reunite with Damien, is heart-wrenching. The fear of losing Damien again is palpable, and I never expected to be so emotionally moved by this, but here I am, shedding tears uncontrollably 😭*

This is why I befriend animals over people. The friendship with animals are the best.

Whats not in this video is that the man introduced his own wife aswell and kwibi was inmediatly nice and kind to her also hugging her and putting her cap on his head you should look up the full encounter it is really amazing ... how two beings that are still quite different can communicate so clearly is amazing they actually introduced each others family its just touching beyond belief

He was probably so glad to finally prove to his family that he wasn’t nuts he really did grow up in the big city.

Interspecies connections are at times, incredibly strong bonds. So glad they were able to reunite and to ensure that their bond still existed. A wonderful day for both of them to connect once again.

I can only watch one or two of these wonderful stories because my old eyes always fill with tears. When I was a boy many years ago I watched as my father mistreated and killed animals, he told me they were below us so it didn't matter. Sorry, Pop, but we are brothers and sisters to these remarkable creatures. (Gotta go dry my eyes now)

Humans are truly the stewards of the world. We have the power to communicate with all animals if we try hard enough. The bonds we make with them are unbreakable. Much love to this man and this gorilla for showing the world their beautiful story!

The smell on Damien's skin brought kwibi to his then young memories of early days and yearned to go back into time. So loving.

The most beautiful and tear inducing story I have ever seen.Wonderful.

I’m not surprised that Kwibi recognized the man who raised him; there have been innumerable, interactive studies done to show that great apes have a memory capacity which dwarfs that of humans, many times over. What did surprise me was how deeply connected he felt to the man who raised him & not only that he followed the boat all the way back to the lodge where the man was staying, but also that he had waited all thru the night to be able to see him again! Ultimately, the only way to construe what we saw is to acknowledge/admit that he (Kwibi) must still love him, deeply - which I find incredibly moving & extraordinarily beautiful! Clearly, humans aren’t the only animals capable of love, or any other complex emotion(s) & we should definitely stop thinking of ourselves that way … we all came from the same primordial soup!

And then Kwibi showed up at the airport, bags packed, like “So where are we going?”

Kwibi didn't just sit there all night to bid a farewell . He was afraid to lose him again .

This has me in tears. I love the animals they are the answer to our problems we are one with them. The state of this world is painful but they bring so much emotion

It brings tears to my eyes I hope they both live a long and full life. I thank God both of them know what true love and friendship are.

I didn't think this would make me cry so much, but it displays the beautiful connection we get to have with animals when we open our heart.

This is the most beautiful story. I had tear in my eyes. Animal's know if a person is good or not and they both loved each other so much, you could see it in their eyes. I don't think animals forget who took care of them and they show so much love. Beautiful.

i am kind of sad that when damian leaves kwibi will have to suffer another separation anxiety, he will never understand why damian has to go again, the fact that he hugged damian so tightly is he didn't want damian to go ...

I’m crying. The truth which cannot be described in words.

Hugging is a sign of possession among gorillas. By hugging Damien, Kwibi claimed him as a son, and this act prevented other gorillas from attacking him. Many species of primate use hugging as a deterrent for violence. For instance, if two chimps are fighting one male may scoop up a baby to initiate a cease fire. Kwibi was likely protecting Damien. Its also incredible that they were able to lock eyes. Gorillas are peaceful by nature but you should never look them in the eyes, it's provocative. This was a lovely story.

Imagine the level of safety you would feel in that jungle knowing the leader of a pack of gorillas loves you and will protect you. Nothing is messing with that dude while his gorilla buddy and family are around.
