I remember last week a pidgeon hurt his foot and couldn't fly. Some kids started to kick it and taunt it. After the kids left, I took the pidgeon to my home and treated it. I kept it for a week. And thank god it got better.

Thank you for posting this! I've been raising two wild baby pigeons and realized they're nearly feathered out and still eating liquid mash through a balloon! It's time to get them drinking and eating.

Hi. If a young pigeon can fly onto a balcony railing, does this mean it is ready to fly and fend for itself? This is a sincere question and I would appreciate a response. I ask because I had a small box on my balcony. I moved it and a pigeon flew out. There is nothing else in the box. The adults are on my balcony railing but I don't see the younger one since flying out the box.

I have two young ones that I rescued from 1 day old. They are now 5 weeks old and flying around. One have stripes on its wings and the other is more mottled like the ones in your video. Does this show what sex they are? Also mine will not wean. I’ve tried starving method but no joy.

@sanazhm so shell lay another nest of eggs, and they are only right bellow her so she wont feel like she lost them. in the wild the parents have more than one nest and they leave the babies alone most of the day when they are old enough to stay warm themselves, and they hatch new babies but they return just to feed the old ones.

i have a lot of white pigeons at my house! xD and there's a nest on top of my roof, but then yesterday...one of the baby pigeons fell down..couldnt fly yet =(..so im taking care of it! =D

You start letting them pick at feed long before they are ready to take care of themself. By the time they are old enough, they already know how to pick up and swallow grains quickly and efficiently.

I just leave mine to wean themselves with their parents, they soon leave the nest on their own and the hen will not let them back in.

If you want the next batch from your hen this is what you do. You'll probably get a time and half more pigeons this way at least.
