This song came on while I was in the truck with my four year old daughter in the back seat. She asked me why he feels like a freak? I said, “I don’t know, maybe he just feels that way because he can’t be happy”. She said, “I don’t think he’s a freak, I just want to give him a hug so he doesn’t feel sad anymore.” That broke me, only a child’s innocence could show such unbiased love to another human being. We were all like that once. I was in a dark place at the time but that pulled me out. No matter who you are, when you’re feeling helpless and alone, SOMEBODY out there in the world loves you, and always remember that Jesus loves you more. Stay blessed everyone!!

Heard this song for the first time in October 2018 while driving to Quebec City for what was supposed to be my last vacation with my boyfriend. I wanted him to have good memories of me… of us. I was so ready to end it all a few days later. This song changed my life for the better. It made me realize so much. In July 1st 2019, we made a trip to Boston to see Shinedown and Badflower was doing one of the first part. To tell you how much I cried when they played ghost. Today, my boyfriend and I are engaged, bought a house and are raising our 2 year old son. Life gets better. Make sure to be there to witness the beauty of it ❤

Same here. It's always a beautiful thing when an artist puts the most incredible melody and sounds to words you feel like u have wanted to say but didn't know how to put them to someone or even yourself. I just found this song and band about a couple weeks ago...I almost cried the first time I listened to it. It's sad but also comforting to know that we're never the only ones suffering, hurting or in pain. This song reminded me of that and it was right on time since things have been trying lately...to say the least

This song makes me so emotional, no many how many times I hear it in repeat. Hearing the lyrics triggered a memory. It feels almost traumatizing that I've tried as many times and the lyrics described exactly how it felt every single time you try. Depression fucking sucks but the fact that there are so many people who struggle with makes you feel a little less alone. Whether it is a chemical imbalance or something else, the struggle to wake up everyday is so unreal. Music like this helps so much to heal..

I tried it once before but I didn't get too far I felt a lot of pain but it didn't stop my heart And all I really wanted was someone to give a little fuck But I waited there forever and nobody even looked up I tried it once before and I think I might a messed up I struggled with the veins and I guess I didn't bleed enough But maybe I'm alive because I didn't really wanna die But nothing very special ever happens in my life Take the blade away from me I am a freak, I am afraid that All the blood escaping me won't end the pain And I'll be haunting all the lives that cared for me I died to be the white ghost Of the man that I was meant to be I tried it like before and this time I made a deep cut I thought about my friends and the way I didn't give enough And I should a told my mother 'mom, I love you' like a good son But this life is overwhelming and I'm ready for the next one Take the blade away from me I am a freak, I am afraid that All the blood escaping me won't end the pain And I'll be haunting all the lives that cared for me I died to be the white ghost Of the man that I was meant to be, yeah I tried it once again and I think I might black out I should a left a letter but I had nothing to write about My blood is all around me, I get dizzy if I stand up The cutting part was easy but regretting it is so fucked Take the blade away from me I am a freak, I am afraid that All the blood escaping me won't end the pain And I'll be haunting all the lives that cared for me I died to be the white ghost Of the man that I was meant to be I tried it once again and I think I went too far The man that I was meant to be I cut a little deeper and the pressure stopped my heart The man that I was meant to be I couldn't tell my mother that I love her, I'm a bad son This life is overwhelming and I'm ready for the next one

I've cried so much with this playing in the background...I'm not suicidal anymore but I was for a few yrs. According to doctors I should be dead, I guess my body is strong as fuck idk but this song captures perfectly what it feels like to be suicidal. Probably the best song out there on the subject. To everyonethinking about doing it...I respect your choices but know that for most survivors or those who don't attempt it gets better and this is a true fact, plus it is proven that even a homeless guy leaves behind at least 7 ppl behind grieving. Your death will bring even more pain, I know the pain is overwhelming but be strong. Please.

in my teens i used to self harm when i felt overwhelmed, 5 years clean and recently i had been struggling again but then i found this band and this song in particular so now when im overwhelmed or upset i listen to this song and take a few breaths. the line "the cutting part was easy but regretting it is so fucked" particularly speaks to me because it reminds me that while it may help in the moment ill be so ashamed and disappointed after the fact. so i owe this song a lot.

This song will forever be my soul saver. Remember fondly the nights in which I lay restless, tear stained with an excruciating pound behind the darkness of eyelid. Prayers to never wake, only to offer a silence to the defeaning voices that were my own thoughts. Am so deeply proud of myself for everything I have conquered these last three years. Due to reflection, maturing, and many learned lessons - I now have an entire faith in myself to carry through this life. Without the suffocating feel of gasping for every shallow breathe. Now and forever, breathing deeply. Steadily. Happily.

Bdoogie bro...it always feels that way. Then it doesn’t. Then it does again. It’ll yo-yo with you , but remember this is just your consciousness being an ass. In this era, we don’t have anything to live for anymore other than each other, we don’t have great wars or famine to survive. Or anything for that matter, so our minds try to give us ideas of no hope to cope with the lack thereof. Just remember, the candle is still lit and we need to ensure it stays that way for as long as possible. Don’t rely on your brain but your heart. It is the feelings you have for every small thing that will keep you going. They will give you the joy you miss, and you should cherish those moments because they are worth living no matter how twisted it may seem.

I love that there are still musicians that sound the same live and can actually play an instrument or two even while singing, especially someone with his talent. The lyrics are too real in a good way. And the fact that I can hear every instrument and not one overruling the other is amazing. Well done Edit:also the smile on his face during the little piano solo makes me so happy, just seeing a musician having a good time even during such a dark song

Yeah. I admit I'm a bitter jaded musician (50s) who got really close to making it right before the 80s music scene ended. In a way I'm glad, cuz it forced me to go to school, get a good job. pension, 401k, etc. Many of the guys that "made it" back then struggled when the scene ended...some still struggling now. Thing is, when I watch this band I realize i realize I never had anything powerful like this to say anyway. I see a lot of gimmicky stuff but this is the real deal. I saw them live the other night and they sounded as good as a CD.
