There's 6 versions of the first film: 1977 Star Wars, 1979 Star Wars Ep 4, 1997 Special Ed, the 2004 cut, the 2011 cut and Maclunky.
@himynameisben953 жыл бұрын
There's way more than that. The original cut sent out to a small number of theaters, the mono and stereo versions, revised versions of those sent out after the first release, the mono and stereo versions of the 1979 cut, the grindhouse version... it's actually insane how many cuts of Star Wars are out there. People want the "original" version that they saw in theatres, but for two different people, that could be two different versions. A lot of the audio changes in the Special Edition aren't changes made for the SE, but rather changes made way back in '77 for the Mono or Stereo releases.

The 1997 Special Edition is the only one that adds deleted scenes, so the story is altered. The rest of them are more like tweaks of the same movie. The Maclunky version is hardly different at all, except for that one Maclunky shot.

Jai Hayes Disney didn’t fully own those old Star Wars films. Fox had distribution rights to five out of the original six until 2020, the exception being a new hope which was owned by then forever. When Disney bought fox that’s when they got the full rights to it. Lucas made that cut with the thought that Disney owned the full rights to it with the purchase
